Fri:
Got to the meeting in plenty of time. Signs are confusing. Am I in building 209 or 208? But the fact I didn't have a room number just a column heading gave me the hint. We're 3D printing the part for the moment. Neat! We think we have the design finalized and are going to send pictures to the customer. If they approve we'll do a short run of parts while they make the molds or whatever to get them going in quantity. Joe is talking about making this a kit for anyone to order, just to add more ports to the front of the device.

I'll have samples of the hub next week I can do testing on. A bit late, of course, as we're moving forward with the thing but okay...

Otherwise pretty quiet. Finished the latest chapter though. No fight, we're going to put the monsters to sleep instead. She wants to try talking to them. Of course that's not going to work out very well.

Didn't need to go shopping, so I didn't. So there. I got cat food instead. Then saw my parents.

Came back here, no game. Sean wanted to do other stuff. Which is fine, he's allowed to want that.

So now what do I do?

Did a little warframe, picked up my new build and did a special mission that's time limited.

Oh yeah, watch star trek. Duh.



Sat:
Order stuff on amazon with virtual card. Need to use that money up so I got a few things like my electric razor foils.
transfer calendar finally to the new one.
Cleaned up a bit, parents are coming thin week.
Looked into getting replacement for SSD under warranty. Should be possible, I got an RMA number for it.
Watched more star trek and the turtles movie. Strange art style and did we really need another origin story? I guess we did. It was fine.
Started to snow in the afternoon. Pretty hard too.
Parents came.
Then watched another movie on my own. So there.

Sun:
Did my reading for the day.
Had lunch.
Still snowing just a little. Good amount, haven't done the driveway yet.
Packaged up the SSD to go back. Sheesh $12 for one 7oz package? Shipping costs have really gotten out of control a little don't you think? Or am I simply spoiled that I can pick free shipping from Amazon?
Actually played some games from my steam library at last. One game I played is described simply as "man takes his new best friend, a large iron ball, for a walk through some caverns after falling down a well." I got through the first 2 stages. Missed one secret. Don't know if I'll go back, it was interesting enough for a bit. Then I started one of those visual story games. You know the ones.
Kind of nice having a weekend I didn't have to go anywhere.
Did the driveway. The chute doesn't want to stay on one side. Annoying. It almost immediately goes to the center or even the other side. It's only a year old.
Dinner.
Got ready for tomorrow. Dentist time! I won't go to work in the morning. It's at 9:10 so I would have to leave at 8:45 which is silly.
One call, didn't reach her.
Then xbox.

Mon:
Checked sites, while waiting for 8:45 to leave for the dentist.
Went to the dentist. They have a new x-ray machine "powered by AI" according to them. I held back telling them that, no, no they don't. They have a machine powered by algorithms and were sold on the buzzword "AI" which doesn't exist. Silly dentists. But that's for next time. I hope my insurance is sorted out by then.

Anyway, no problems at the tooth ticklers so I went to work.

Not much work to be had. Didn't get any email from the guy about the USB hub. Humm.

Did write the next chapter. Made it more complicated by using a race that isn't actually all that bad, the bug people, and they were flying which messed with the plan a little. So we got to capture them and now they're awake and acting strange. Whatever will they dooooooooooo.

Got back late.

Checked sites, ate dinner. No calls but the lady from before.


Tues:
Package hasn't come yet, what a shock. I emailed about it, because I'm a pro active employee or something.

Wrote the next chapter.

Got a new mission from Gina to reproduce a problem. That has already been reproduced and logs gathered. So... why tho? I reserved the machine for tomorrow, it's fine I guess.

Very rainy and windy today. Power didn't go out though.

Went to wegmans to use a gift card I got. See you next year, Wegmans.

Came back here, checked sites.

Did a short call about chrome window sizes, yes that's what I'm reduced to these days.

Then warframe with the others.

Wed:
Had a demo for the email thing. We can only do 70% of the size we say we can do? That's quality.

Also watched the video from our CEO about our transition to a smaller, leaner, faster company. Haven't we been saying that for years? Anyway, he's so proud of all the great people we have, and how much great work they are doing. Begs the question why you're getting rid of so many. I mean you need workers, to do work, to sell things to customers, right? Can we really find no place for these people instead of just tossing them out the airlock?
So weird.

Set up a macro to do a test, hitting two buttons on a webpage to try and crash our machine. It ran an hour and a half just fine.

Wrote the next chapter, or at least most of it. They got to the ruin but I need to figure out how it's protected. Or what it looks like. Or both. Magic. I need to figure out the magic.

Came home, still pretty windy and yucky today.

Checked sites, had dinner.

More game playing.

Thurs:
Set up the macro on a lab laptop so I didn't lock up my own device. The machine crashed at 11:02 so we know it does crash one out of every 300 times doing the install and uninstall of this product. On average, or whatever.

Finished the last chapter, started the next.

Had the meeting.

Watered the plants.

Tried to get a new card reader to work. Well, to be fair I tried to get the feature to work I wanted to show the new card reader did or didn't work. There should be a  feature where you swipe a card and it pairs it to an account. I'm sure of it. I've used it. But I can't remember how! I think the thing I was trying to use wasn't right, but there's nothing else there. I sent Christina a message, maybe she'll remember. I stayed an hour late trying to figure that out.

I figure I owed Xerox the time, all that writing I do otherwise.

Came back here, raining. No snow though, coming up week 3 of Jan.

Checked sites, videos, and ate dinner.

Did more game, and completed mastery rank 20 in Warframe. Only 10 ranks to go. Sean isn't even rank 30 yet so it'll be another... 10 years?

Looking ahead there's the card reader thing at work and probably not much else? Maybe trying to reproduce the crash again? Really don't know how helpful that will be.

Shopping, unlike last week. Only have one check so I won't go to the bank. See my parents. We're probably going to do game, as we didn't last week.

Looks like another quiet weekend, nothing planned at the moment. Game isn't until next week. I'll have my parents over. And Monday I have off. Nice. I have a few things planned, like go over the spell list I have all the pyre pages wrong. And maybe some main spells are a bit off too, I saw one today I need to correct. Whoops.

Cleaning, that sort of thing.
