Got D4.0 in, so did the config sheet stuff for the 9th time. I'm not even kidding. Could this in fact be the last time? We can only hope.
Bug stuff, may have messed up the D5.6 config sheet bug. Monday will tell. I don't have a machine until then so Monday morning I'll load it up and print some config sheets before the people who want to come down at 9:30 do. Hopefully I can save them the trip and say "yeah, my bad, I got the sheets mixed up because I print about 20 of them for the test so what are you gonna do?"
Reading.
Dentist at 9:30. It went fine, and hopefully my shiny new insurance covers some of it? They still charged me the full amount, am I reimbursed or how does that work? Back at work it was 11:30 and I wanted to eat lunch. I had brought soup, thinking it would help with the numbness and it would be fairly safe. Nope. Bit my tongue eating soup. I suck. Felt it right through the novacane so I knew it was going to be a good one. Stuped. 12:00 my butt, it was 3:00 by the time it was not numb. Not sure how he could have been so far off.
Parent's house, they weer not there so I just left again after dropping stuff off.
Put stuff away at home.
Checked my daily sites, videos, game. Didn't get too far, though we stayed on track fairly well. Odd. We had to get Jon up to speed which took a bit. I don't know really what happened. We played 4 hours. All we did was move from the cafe to the chapter house for the sorcerers down the street. And an angel showed up. I know what I'm going to do though, hopefully we won't have to kill him despite his attacking us for reasons.


Sat:
Cleaning, even though my parents are not coming. It seems the thing to do anyway.
Painting - Got the white on just fine.
Going to let it dry, sand it, paint it white again, let it dry, sand it, then start putting purple on it.
Eggplant - cooked it up for lunch, it's like a squash sort of thing on the inside. It was fine, but I probably won't go seeking it out.
Then played the Outer Worlds. I know, I was supposed to be burning through my list of games not adding to it. But it was on sale for $20. So I got it, a PC version of a playstation 3 game I never finished because my drive got busted, and the sequal for $44. With Sean back in classes at least I can focus on clearing my list and not just warframe all the time.
Liking it so far.
Then did the takedown. Died the first time but we did manage the second without too much trouble. Huh. The first time I couldn't get away from anything killing me but the second everybody just seemed to ignore me. It was weird.

Sun:
Started painting the purple. Not going to work out. I'll have to get some actual cans of spraypaint. I'm not even sure an airbrush is meant for doing such a large area. But I do know it looked like crap!
Sanded the purple off. So dumb. It actually looks kinda cool, like a white wand just shot through with purple. But I'll get some actual primer, sand that stuff again, and hope some spraypaint will go on better.

Then played more Outer Worlds. Started crashing when I left the ship, a bug that's been around since 2019. Thanks for fixing the bugs! Solved it by, of all things, rebooting the whole PC. Huh?

Otherwise not much else exciting. A nice, relaxing weekend for once. Tongue is feeling better but it's still messed up. I estimate 2 days before it's fully healed.

Got ready for tomorrow. No calls, just iPhone guy wanting to give me zucchini.

Did what I said, loaded up the D5.6 machine and printed some reports to see who was in the wrong here. It was me! It's a shock I know, but I kept careful track of the pages as they printed and I guess I got a detailed report mixed up with a basic report and thus the whole thing was unnecessary.

Only other work related thing I did was the server check. Otherwise some writing, finished the next chapter.

Went and bought paint. Is there some kind of paint shortage now too? The spraypaint isle was empty. They only had 3 cans of purple in the whole place, and it's paint + primer, not exactly what I wanted. But I put it on, and it seems okay?

Checked sites, the usual eating dinner stuff.

One call, she just wanted advice on what tower to get. I suggested my refurb unit! No, didn't want that. Fine, go get some overpriced garbage then.

And played some Outer Worlds.

Tues:
A good voice meeting today. We actually got the developer on the call and he looked at some things. So we might get some action there. Please, please let there be some action there so we can put this all behind us. Please.

Otherwise wrote another chapter and that was it.

Came back here, sprayed the gift with the clear top coat, and the paint bubbled or cracked or however you want to call it in one area on the main piece. Neat. So I let it dry, sanded it again, washed it, let it dry, and put the purple back. Not going to do the top coat again, too risky I guess. Why in the heck did it do that? If it was a reaction to the paint the whole thing would have done it, right? But no, just in that little spot. Gurr. Looked pretty good otherwise.

Painted the main body of the gift again, after of course sanding and washing it. I think that will do it. Also painted the glass pieces. The first attempt was awful, but it cleaned off fine with the goofoff stuff. Second time I tried a different technique which seemed to work. Whew. Looks okay! Let everything dry and start assembly.

Had two calls, guy down the street saying his machine wasn't staying asleep and good old dentist guy. My favoritist guy in the whole extended universe. Didn't reach him, what a shame.

Played some Outer Worlds and then Warframe.

Wed:
Not much work today, did attend a meeting with Gina and Christina about the on box accounting. Gina had questions and I had never really done anything with it, so she showed it to us.
Some questions about the voice stuff but I didn't really have to do anything to answer them.

Did finish a chapter and a bit of the book.

Got home, paint seems to be drying well, I'm just leaving it alone. Tomorrow I can start gluing things together.

Checked sites, videos, ate dinner. Then some Outer Worlds. Oh, worked on the gift a little too, let's hope it works out the way I want. It's still pretty sticky after 5 hours, it would be totally in character to have the one piece that's multiple pieces that I can't screw up and screw them up. It was inevitable really. But we'll see what it looks like tomorrow when I get back from dentist guy. Oh yeah, called dentist guy. Something about email, I think he just needs his printer dropdown changed from "save to pdf" to the printer. But who knows with him, honestly.

Thurs:
Meeting day, so we had some meetings. No new work came in, we're pretty caught up actually. Christina is out next week, so hopefully we don't get some emergency build in that has to be tested right away.

Not much new on the voice system, hopefully progress is being made in some areas behind the scenes?

Wrote the next chapter. I'm up over 50,000 words so it looks like it'll be a good length. They know where they have to go, and what they have to do. Let's do it.

Went out to see dentist guy. As expected I have no idea what printing thing he was talking about. I turned his printer on, the power strip switch was off, maybe that was it? I set up a new phone, despite his old phone seeming to work just fine. And answered some questions. Not too bad today.

Got back, had two calls, the lady I guess does want the refurb system, nice. Given it's less than half the price and probably a better machine than some HP junk at Staples, I can't imagine why. But she doesn't want it until the 7th. She wants to get a smartphone. A smart trac phone? Is that a thing? I don't know if that's a thing. Well, whatever.

Didn't reach the other person.

The pour hasn't hardened. Sigh. Going to leave it another day, in the hope something happens, hit it with the hair dryer occasionally just to see. Don't know what I'm going to do with it.

So let's look to the future, as we always do at the bottom of this thing. Tomorrow I'll do some "work" and then do the shopping, hope they have cat food, and go to the bank. Oh yeah, two days ago I got checks from the insurance company so my dental insurance is working. Sweet. So I'll deposit them. Then see my parents. I still don't know if we're doing game or not. I'm pretty sure we're still on for Saturday though. Oh, that reminds me, I wanted to make some changes to my character. I'm getting rid of "nature" as it doesn't exist anymore, it's now "plant" and "animal" and the animal entry says it'll only let you talk to animals with a reason of less than one. But Black Dogs have a reason of 2 or 3, so I can't use it to talk to my dog. But I can use Mind, which I already have, so I can swap it out for something else. I think I'll buy another skill group of spells too, rather than raising one to a 6 like I have.

Otherwise, probably some game playing, staying cool, and out of the rain.

Played a bit, and it's time for bed. Well, August is just about over. We knew it was coming, doesn't make it any easier.
