And what is this new thing? BlueRay players! Specifically, the Sony one I was looking at today. Basically it wouldn't play a DVD made by iDVD. But when I tried it, I wasn't getting any picture at all from the unit. So I messed with it and it just suddenly started working again. Oh, and it was soooo slow to actually turn on. I was like, what are you DOING?
Then I go to look up the error message "cannot play this format" oh really, it's a DVD. I don't find much, but BlueRay players have updatable firmware. So I go and get said firmware... or do I? They list as possible downloads windows EXE files. Uh, what? I have, perhaps, a Mac user? So I figure that's a dead end, but it turns out (on another site I read) if you download the EXE file and uncompress it with The Unarchiver it turns into an industry standard ISO file, burnable on anything that can burn, even toast. (Those old school Mac users among you will get the pun)
So I do that. And what do you know? It doesn't solve the problem! Thanks Sony, just one more reason to avoid your products like plagued grain straight out of Andorhal. Oh, and it was 50MB. That's right, 50MB for a stupid firmware upgrade. No wonder it's so freaking slow.
So I got there at 1:30, thinking I was just setting up a router, of course the stupid, stupid people there bought an Apple Airport, still the worst Apple product ever (yes, I counted the Portable and that impossible to open 8100 RAM upgrade) so it wasn't as easy as I thought it was going to be. Then this stupid DVD issue, so I got home at 3:30, rather then the expected time of 1:50. aarg.
The one before that was a nice, straightforward fake antivirus I took out. Nice and easy.
Forgot about this yesterday, I got a new "yellowbook" on Saturday, it's getting smaller. On the bottom is last years.

If the previous year was the "new eco-friendly size" shouldn't this year be the "even more eco-friendly" or something. At this rate, it'll soon be too small to even see, then vanish entirely.
So sad.

The second gym leader just handed me all six of my pokemon back, fainted, and said "oh, is that all?" Sheesh, I beat Misty no problem in Red. Stupid "takedown", oh sure, you can use one move, over and over, that one-shots every pokemon I own. That's fine, I'm not bitter. I didn't think that pokemon even evolved until level 21 at the very least, how can it be at level 20? Something fishy going on there.
