2022-07-14:

Fri:
Mostly just trying to get the onedrive to work. Wouldn't log in. We had to put different ports into the thing than the instructions said to. Basically reversing a pair of them. Then the cert vanished from the list when I changed the port. For reasons? Figured that out and put it back. We got the login page back. Then it wouldn't log in again. Then it wouldn't give me the number I wanted once we did figure out the login issue. Thanks.

Gave parents stuff. Shopping. Out to dinner for my sister's birthday, a little early.
Then home for Dr. Who with dad, and taking him back home. Still have a bunch to go.

Sat:
Got a few things done today.
Cleaned up. The floors, a bunch, for example. I won't say why. But I do have cats and am somewhat lazy so you figure it out.
Got my files transfered back to the PC with the new drives put in. Worked a lot better after I turned the antivirus off. Thanks, MS. With the AV running it would copy for a bit, seemingly a random time, and then give me some message about the file wasn't there anymore. I thought it may be a Mac thing, when I was copying TO the Mac. Maybe it just couldn't keep up with the data rate? It seemed impossible given what sort of machine it was but what other explanation was there? Copying FROM the Mac showing the same problem? No, there was a another reason. Looked into it, and once the AV was turned off it got 110MB/sec as it should and copied the rest of the data without issue. I don't know that FF7 loads any faster, but I didn't expect it to be much different. My Skyrim RAM drive experiment proved your storage speed is largely irrelevant. Love to know why that is, but there you have it.
Put some Saturn games into my inventory and checked them out. Went a lot faster after I realized I could move the files into position rather than letting the emulator copy them. But I still have hundreds to unpack and put into place. My target is Panzer Dragoon Saga, which I just watched a video about. Apparently pretty good, but I'll judge that for myself.
Made zucchini bread.
Updated Ellen's website.
Put the battery into my UPS. Uh, it's about twice as wide as the old one. Ugh. I just sort of stuck it under there, it's not closed, did I order the wrong one or did I get sent the wrong one? Have to look into it. It accepted it, I doubt it would "know" the difference, it's a battery. It doesn't care, right?
Watched Dr. Who with my father. Is the universe gone? It seems like it's gone. Going to be a very boring show if... Hold on. They've gone into the future before. If the Flux destroyed everything wouldn't they have noticed, hey, where did the universe go at such and such a time. I mean they visited the last days of Earth when the series restarted in 2015. There were all sorts of aliens there to watch. Where did they come from if the Flux killed everybody? Very bizarre. The doctor should have known all this was coming a LOOOOOONG time ago and prepared for it.
More uncompressing Saturn games.

Sun:
Outside stuff today. Cut the lawn. More weeding. Moved a few more trees. Picked berries. Only about a container's worth so far.
Finished up with the Saturn games. They all have their box art, and the multi-disk games, and there were not many of them, are ready to go too. Now to look through them. I watched some movies while I did it, two screens for the win.
Looked through them. Played a few. There are some weird Japanese ones, but I don't have to tell you that, do I?
Got ready for tomorrow.
Two calls, so I have work for tomorrow and Tuesday. Both internet related, I guess?

Mon:
The last message by my contact in the other company did work, it was a permission issue for one file that was preventing the number from being generated. With that sorted... We can't log into the app. It gives us an error. Sigh. Of course he's out today. As is basically everyone associated with the project. We can look the admin portal over I guess.
Christina figured out the part that wasn't working was probably hard coded, and we made some changes and figured out she was right. It didn't help us test anything, but at least we know the problem now.
Didn't really rush to test anything. Hardly any bugs have been fixed, it's the same app we got before as the new stuff isn't working. Pointless.
Also finished up Kevin's printing task, so that was closed out.
Got a few salad today, ate one before I left. Just one meatball sub, ate that for lunch along with a yogurt.
The place in Victor said they can't print from the middle machine. Uh, yeah, I said you would have to do stuff to it. I didn't even know there was a printer up there, I didn't see one. They have some other company that does stuff for them, if they can't figure it out why do you think I can? I really don't want to drive all the way back there. But I did leave my remote assistance client on the device, maybe I can just remote in sometime. Of course I may need to check a different machine to see what they're doing for printing there. Neato.
Went over to the first network guy. I connected right away but he says it's intermittent. Can't do anything about that.
I guess I did order the wrong battery. The pictures have a funny perspective, it makes it look smaller than it is. Sigh. Well like I said it worked so what if it's not snug in the case? It's not going anywhere.
Got home, checked sites.
Did some Remnant.

Tues:
Still haven't quite gotten the OneDrive app up and running. We can get into it fine, but no single sign on activity happens. Odd. As that's the whole point of the v2 release we would like that to work?

Worked on iSort, trying to get rid of the beep every time you hit a key on the Mac. As the proposed solution didn't work I tried another. It's a little more complicated, but sending the code home has shown it working. However, now I have a new problem. If someone clicks on the window the part doing the handling of the keys isn't in "focus" anymore and the keys stop working. If you press one of the buttons it starts because that returns "focus" to where it should be but it's not a solution.

Little bit more of Kevin's task, and it turns out the fixes for the iOS tray message aren't in the daily build? So I don't know who to believe. I made some more test cases out of the notes that I was sent though.

Ate another salad and went to see about more networking. Let's see, he somehow disabled his ethernet port, well done. His tablet won't turn on. His one TV won't work with the remote, despite changing the batteries. He's in a bad way.

Back here, checked sites, one call. Called the gym lady and my one call, no answer at either. Great.
Got ready for tomorrow.

The lady called back. We got the printer working, she plugged in the ethernet cable and got it to work! Whew. No more issues after that. Thank goodness. Just got off the phone when Sean pinged me for Xbox. Nice, sometimes things to do work out.

Wed:
Things are looking up. After almost two hours we figured out what the problem was with the onedrive. You'll never guess. It was Christina that spotted it.

It was a space.

Yup, a lowly whitespace, because I copied a long number from a PDF which had a line break in it, which I guess is a space on windows? Anyway, pasting it into the field put a space there, and because of course no one does any error checking of anything it was accepted and caused all our issues. Nice. Anyway, that was corrected, and we got to do some testing of it.

Our total bugs for the new version stands at 24. Nice.

Oh yeah, fixed a few bugs in the iSort program today too. You could queue up multiple directories if you were fast enough, so I fixed that. Some other minor changes. If you move the mouse you get the focus back where it's "supposed" to be which is hacky as all get out but I found no other solution.

Oh, got a pudding and some more very "healthy" snacks today. No sandwiches. Had the last salad, well, there's the big one but I hope that keeps for another two day.s

Came back here, we got rain in parts but it didn't rain much around here. One call, a late one from yesterday and I didn't reach her. I did reach the guy from yesterday so I'm going over there tomorrow. Yay.

Otherwise checked sites, got ready for tomorrow. Oops there's the phone. Akron NY eh? I don't think so.

Where was I? Oh right, watched the last Ms Marvel, and then did Remnant with the others. We got an item that made our lives a lot easier. Basically it siphons health away from enemies hit by summoned creatures, like the Good Boy and the Floating Skulls. Given that I can do 2000 damage to even the most minor enemy and they can be fine, but can only take 136 damage myself a 10% boost every time a summon attacks something adds up quickly. We beat the boss on the second try.

Thurs:
Got in a new version of D5.6, apparently the final version? When we hadn't gotten a pre-release and the date for the final was a month away? Anyway, it had the fax stuff in it so I dutifully set that all up again. No new issues, just the old ones no one cares about. Don't know why I bother. Finished that up.
Had a OneDrive meeting, Christina came in that morning and the SSO part wasn't working. We think it's a token expiring too soon. Like, way too soon. So we talked about that.
Had the usual afternoon meeting as well.
I think I missed the day's haul. There was a guy setting up a ladder right by the garbage can so I left it. By the time I remembered again it had been an hour and it seemed a house elf had emptied the can already. Sigh. We'll never know what might have been.
Made some labels for cards too. That's about it for today. Tomorrow we may get the new LDAP prox card nonsense feature, yay.

Went to see the cleanout guy. 3 machines. All from the Intel Core 2 duo era. So yeah, 15 years old? Slow as heck, but still somehow not completely useless. Malwarebytes ran in 20 minutes on the one, which is actually impressive. Cleaned them up. Get some new machines, please!

Got home, no calls so just the lady from yesterday to call today. That one was an easy one. He forgot the spectrum app was on his phone, not his PC. Yes, this is what I'm dealing with.

Checked sites, the usual.

And now the usual is looking ahead. The hot/hot testing tomorrow, more than likely. Shopping, seeing my parents. Not enough to go to the bank with. Then back for game, the Miracle one.

Nothing big planned for the weekend. More berries if I have them, and weeding. Grass doesn't need cutting. Saturday game is next week. Having my parents over for a movie?

July is almost half over, and my althea has tiny blossoms so summer is almost over.

Got ready for tomorrow. Have a good weekend everyone, enjoy the outside if it's possible where you are, and I'll see you all back here next week.
