Like today, looking for the second part of my valentine project I found something that almost tempted me away from what I want to do. But I just filed it for next year. The bargain was the 90% off christmas stuff they still had. They had a chart that went up to $200, but I didn't see any 90% off $200 things which really would have been sweet. What I did buy was some rolls of wrapping paper suitable for all occasions for all of .39¢. One was .99¢ I saw on the receipt, which was odd, but I wasn't going to go back into the cold to go back into the store to get my .60¢. So that was a good find. What was not a good find was they did not have the thing I wanted to finish this project! Arrg! I had to buy something close which I guess is fine. *sigh*

 

Caught a check with no date on it this morning. Was all ready to put them in the envelope when something was nagging me. So I looked through them all and it was the last one. Thanks Dr. Jay.

 

Otherwise the shopping went as normal. No library, I still have a few christmas books to read. I know, I know, it's been almost a month already, what's taking me so long? I read more today, honest!

 

Got the tape I'm to turn into a CD, well, two CDs really. Then over to see about a slow machine at the RIT hotel there I can't spell. Radisson? She only had 256MB of RAM and an antivirus that expired in 2005. Great! She is also on some "secure" network some people need to access "Opera" whatever that is. But she doesn't, so I discussed getting her on the other network. 

 

Then over to see the Walkers, got them up and running again.

 

Home to snow! I did the driveway and raked off the roof. It might be above freezing (a little) tomorrow, the only time this week that'll happen. Get out your bathing suits, people! Then I made the two CDs from the tape. 

 

Took delivery of stuff, and then set it up. Sweeet! My living room is now how I imagined it, for only slightly more cash/aggravation then I had anticipated. *gurrrr*

 

Took pictures of the stuff to go on ebay, but didn't get to actually putting it up.

 

Sylvia called four times *shakes head* and I got a bunch of other calls besides that, but still only three (and dropping the CD off) for tomorrow.  Didn't reach three people, Dr Jay again, a guy I got a HD in for, and Lou who finally closed his shop and has somehow messed up his machine at home. Oh, she (his daughter) has to get something done by tomorrow, but is anyone around to take my call? No? And when it picks up it's mostly silence, with me saying "hello?" repeatedly, then I hear him (kinda) and say "I can hear you Lou, I know you're there!" and then it beeps, making me realize I've just listened to his answering machine message. Which is a bunch of silence and him saying something weird at the end. Great!

 

The question then becomes, is it a failing in him to properly understand something even a three year old could grasp, or a failing of the maker of the device to not be intuitive enough?
