2021-06-24:
Fri:
Nothing much exciting at work. No news from the voice guy. No new features
in yet, though supposedly we are getting close, so maybe next week we'll
have the new config report options to test. It shouldn't take long.
Did a bunch of writing, we're nearning the end and it's only about 30,000
words so we'll need another story or two to make it a book.
Did shopping, got gas, and saw my parents. Even an Onix for a brief time.
Came back, put stuff away, and did game. We won with a bit of trouble,
mostly thanks to our NPC. We didn't work together so it was a mess, and
using a bow against enemies that can fly didn't work out very well. Honestly
they (and we because we've probably done it on our side too) shouldn't be
able to do what we do. A winged creature can't start and stop flying on a
dime. Just crossing a room doesn't work. It would take more concentration to
try flying and then stopping before you smash into a wall than just moving
to where you want to be.
Hopefully we can improve on that later.
Then we got our powers and just talked about stuff, no new adventure.
Sat:
Thought about what weapon I was going to use, now that I had any weapon I
wanted. Figured out even at an energy cost per shot of a gun, that's the
most efficient means of attacking.
The numbers back it up anyway. The downside is that you can't dodge bullets,
so no one will try. That means my attack doesn't raise someone's delay as it
normally would when they dodge. Of course, it's a trade off because if I hit
they'll then be at penalties so have less chance of doing whatever it is
they're doing in the first place. I'll have to run some more combats and see
if I can come up with anything else.
Checked sites, watched videos.
Did some cleaning. I know! My parents aren't even coming over, it's madness!
Left for my 2:30 job. Should have made it 3:00, I got to Sean's neighborhood
way too early. I guess I thought she was further away? I knew the job
wouldn't take me very long. At least she said the extra RAM solved her
problem, so that's a relief because if it didn't I wasn't sure what would.
Of course if I had remembered my Kindle...
Anyway, still didn't complete the adventure, but we've made strides towards
it. Our object was stolen from witches by humans, and stolen from humans by
vampires. So we have to go get it there. Getting the humans they're holding
shouldn't be too hard, but how do we find one magical item in a city block
1km wide (let's say) on a side?
Sun:
Left at 9:45 with my parents. Went to the zoo. Saw less animals than the
last time, it seemed like the building with the reptiles and snakes and
spiders and things was gone. But it was enjoyable nevertheless. Then lunch.
Then the place down by the shops with the ever decreasing prices. It was
$5.00 day, didn't see anything I couldn't live without, but the others found
a few things.
Got back late afternoon, checked sites, found a comic I was looking for.
It's about two people meeting for the first time and the one girl askes the
guy what weapon he uses, and starts naming all these weird weapons and he
says "no, I use a gun. The feasible weapon sane people use." Classic, and it
seems to fit with the Demongate High thing we're doing.
I cleaned up my comics folder a bit too, I had many more of one artist in
the "random" than should be acceptable, so I pulled them all out into
separate folders.
Did Sunday stuff, like watering the plants.
Got ready for tomorrow. No calls this weekend at all.
Mon:
Welcome to another Monday. Rainy. First day of summer? I have berries,
little unripened ones but it looks to be a good crop. I have to make a pie
this weekend, I still have two bags of berries.
Work was fairly boring, no news on the voice system front, no new releases.
Had a conversation with Don that no, there really are no certs with the scan
to home thing we did. Honest. None. We can't take thing away from them, or
regenerate them, because they don't. Exist.
Went over to Good Will. Got a few goodies for the game in 6 months, and two
big spools of LED lights. Nice.
Back here, checked sites, got ready for tomorrow. No calls today either.
Something happened to the Mac, maybe the PCI Express slot died? The machine
rebooted and my main monitor wouldn't come on. I moved the card into a
different slot (16x to 4x) and it's working again. I've left it, I don't do
really any 3D games so we'll see how it feels. Odd.
As of 6:30 no news on the Adam game.
Told a lie, I did get one call. Ellen. Guess what about? Exactly. Folders.
No game and no warframe. Just watched stuff.
Tues:
Guess what didn't happen today? Well, probably a lot of stuff, I admit. But
the thing you thought of is right, no meeting with the voice people.
Exactly. They were trying to get something done and he wanted tomorrow
morning. But Don couldn't do tomorrow morning, and he couldn't do tomorrow
afternoon except for certain times which he did not reveal to us as he said
he would. So there!
Otherwise, more combat practice with my two lovely ladies, and writing the
next to last chapter. I made the opponents for my people to fight, I just
need to have the fight. Have to do that at home, with my grid and everything
to keep track of the action.
Nothing else at work, no new release yet.
Came back home, finished Lupin, checked sites, the usual.
Worked on the combat, used some tricks and everyone survived. Yay! They also
all escaped, so they can seek revenge in the future!
Wed:
Guess what exciting thing didn't happen today? Exactly, still no meeting
with the voice people. one excuse after another. It's only been a year and a
half, I'm sure after another 6 months we'll have it all squared away.
Started the first chapter of the next portion of the book. I have no idea
where it's going though, I just wanted him to make the hammer. And he did,
so there. Now I have to figure out the rest of the story.
Nothing else new at work, still no new build that I got informed of.
Came back home, code 82 came up so it's time to change my oil. I have some,
but not enough. I'll have to buy more tomorrow and change it.
Checked sites, did the usual when I got home. Did some warframe too, but
went to bed early because I'm getting up early.
Thurs:
Got up and went over to feed everybody. No problems, though I'm not sure how
much medicine Emily got in her mouth.
Don't need to tell you what didn't happen today, because it keeps not
happening.
Did more writing though, had the one meeting, walked around and looked at
plants.
Got a new build number to test for the preview feature, but the machine back
where I am is being used until next week. I reserved it, so I can start that
Monday.
Otherwise not much else.
Went out to see printer guy. He had a few problems. Foxit not letting him
print PDFs because it was in some mode, which it used to let you get out of
but now it doesn't? And his stupid android phone. My iPhone connected to the
printer right away, no problems. His android? No, not so much. Isn't the
system apple uses open source? Couldn't they use it too? Could swear it was.
Finally got back at 6:30. Ugh. Stupid printer.
Checked sites, videos, got ready for tomorrow. No calls, thank goodness.
So what's coming up? Back to feed everybody tomorrow morning. Work. Then
shopping, getting oil, getting gas, and getting back here for game. The
second adventure, yay! Get 'yer guns.
Then feeding everyone over the weekend, but not much else planned. Cut the
front lawn? Yes. Pick berries? No, they're not quite there yet. Oh, bake a
pie? Yes. I think that will do it.
It's the last week of June, so I'll see you back here when it's the first
