Oops, I did it again.
Anyway, in the grip of the icy beast we are at last, as it snowed pretty darn hard yesterday, making me quite the gladness I was not out in it. Instead I worked on the Database, adding several new features like printing. Also put in some logic to account for backgrounds and weaknesses that change health levels or energy. More Buffy. Made Jason Archer and his "spirit based martial arts". Made phone calls. A nice day of rest.
I balanced that out today. Dropped off the audio adapter first thing, odd that her sound hardware is just missing. Cleaned out one machine (which didn't need it) what it did need was more RAM, 1gb to run Win7? Uh, okay, I wouldn't have run Vista.
*wait for it*
With that amount of RAM. *rimshot* Found some mystery RAM that was 2gb, so I gave her one of those and another 1gb I scrounged up, so she went from 1 to 3, which seems pretty good to me.
The other machine I had to take. It runs, but it takes a very long time to start up. This evening I put my hard drive in it and tried loading Win7, but it's kinda stuck now on "Completing Installation" so I guess it's his HD after all. Weird issue.
My Buddy Bruce's machine got picked up. His apartment was not as gross as usual. Astonishing. He's talking about moving away. Let me help you pack.
Then to set up a new machine, no big deal, half an hour. Then another setup, where I basically walked in, handed her a $50 bill, saved her a bunch of money (not on car insurance) in the coming years, and set her machine up. She had paid $98 for Norton so I said, uh, no, here's a free one, call Symantic and get your money back. She did. So with my fee she came out ahead.
Am I a swell guy or what? Don't answer that.
Then back here, got My Buddy's machine anti-virused and cleaned the gunk off the thing, because the man is disgusting and giving it a good wipe down (it was filthy, take my word for it) was the only way I was touching it without putting gloves on.
Then phone calls, another busy day tomorrow before seeing The Aged One. Taking these two laptops back, a setup, something for the mortgage company and one other one I forget at the moment. One saturday, just Boris and his book project again, something about printers, I don't know. Then over to install Mom's new machine and move hers over to Dad's office. Though I guess if his continues to work he could choose to just keep it as a spare? Whatever.
Oh, got my new ninja jacket from my parent's house, it's black and all snuggly. Thanks Mom! Now I won't freeze to death as my zipper she comes undone.
Tonight, probably finish another professor and maybe play some video game. Seems a fair a way as any.
If I don't write again until next year, have a good Eve, try not to make a fool of yourself, don't do anything I wouldn't do.
