So my morning one cancels on me. This is after shopping, of course, so it's now 11:20ish. Bought two cans of yummy food for my cats for christmas morning at .99¢ apiece, hope they like it. So I think to myself, do I try and get something done in place of it, or stuff here? So I stayed here, found a good system for Don, made that newegg order. Ate lunch. Then went out. My 2:15 was fine. Setting up a new laptop. Another single core piece of junk. What's with the resurgence of single core machines all of a sudden? Are they busted dual core processors that get marked down or something? Anyway. I get to my 4:30. Which was crap. Some old IBM thinkpad doing crazy stuff. Tried a bunch of things, couldn't nail the problem down. So I do a repair. Which at least now lets it boot in safe mode (where it would BSOD before) but now it gets hung up wanting to "activate". Honestly, it's two OS versions old now, MS, let it go. So then I get to do the whole reload process again, this time, reloading windows totally. Move the drivers over. Move the documents over- oh, wait, I don't have "permission" so I have to into "safe mode" and give myself "ownership" of the folders in question, one at a time, before I can move them. Yeah, this is "security". Of course the place was down 104, by the co-op, so there's those half a bazilion lights, half of which were red. I got home at 8:25. I got off the phone at 9:55. Eight calls. Only had four when I left after lunch. So I have all but one slot on Wednesday booked (that's three) and four to do tomorrow. Should be fun! For very small values of fun.
