Fri:
Didn't quite finish a chapter today. My brain notes were a bit fuzzy on this one.

Attended a meeting about the onedrive app, and how we failed. I knew we would on larger jobs, I complained about it. I'm not sure if they "fixed" it or not. There were a lot of bugs...

Oh, had the drill. The old "chemical spill" drill, so I went in an hour late. I probably should have just gone in, and I considered it, but if they like checked the door logs and saw my badge there would be a whole thing even though we all knew it was a drill. I mean come on. Whatever.

Nothing on the busted machine. Gina sent another email about it, "hey anything we can do here?" Everyone's probably gone at this point.

Helped a little altbooting a machine the developer guy busted. It's still busted, by the way. He didn't know how to altboot the newer style devices. So silly.

Did the shopping, went to the bank. Saw my parents, got cookies.

Came back here, put stuff away. Got the PC with the BSOD so I'm knocking that off. I've got it installed. He has 107,434 files in his user folder? How? 262 GB. UGh, I hope the drive holds up. I'm doing it on my Mac so I don't have to go through and change all the "permissions" for the files. So I got to copy to that for hours, and then to the actual PC for hours. Neat.

I think we're doing game? But it's almost 7:30 and no one is on. Sean is on roll20 but not the chat, and Neil is not on either. Odd. Huh, they were on the whole time I guess. Discord just didn't tell me about it. Sigh. They said they were having problems on their end too so it wasn't just me.

Wonderful, it stops when it can't copy something. Sigh, but I can do each folder individually now? Maybe. Ugh this is going to take forever. Wonder if the command line copy would stop or keep going???? 30,000+ pictures? Seriously??? Do you have a backup? This sucks. It keeps stopping...

Game went fine, we convinced the trickster to not be one anymore so much and he even apologized. Neat. Now I can learn how to turn into a demon. Good thing that guy existed so I could do the Oni's work for him.

I think I got all the files off. I started around 7:00 and finished around 10:00 and that was with it messing up and me having to start over. Naturally, now copying them to the PC the time remaining estimate is..... "more than 1 day." Yeah thanks, windows. You better do it in 3 hours or I'm really going to laugh at you.

Sat:
I left it overnight so I have no idea how long it took.

Anyway, needed to get it done so I worked on that more. Thankfully I think everything's fine with it.
Called the guy, he's coming later today.

Checked sites, videos.

Made the treat, I'm gonna have all kinds of treats through January it seems like. Made two pans of it, each with one layer of cracker than that several.

Finished chapter 17.

Guy came. Brought a laptop he didn't recall the password to. A vista laptop. Why even bother then? At least he said it was asking for a password. I ran my old tool and it said there wasn't, and I booted it and there wasn't. Soooo yeah.

Had lunch.

Then a kitty walk, as it was fairly nice out.

Then started the wrapping. That takes a long time, really.

Had supper, did some reading for tomorrow. Then parents came. Two birds got in! We got them out again.

Then Xbox.

Sun:
Checked sites, did the rest of my reading for the day.
Worked on the game gifts, removing tags and such.
Then wrapped a bunch of it. Didn't do the whole thing, but most of it.

Did actual book reading. I got this set of books last Christmas, seems appropriate to have actually read them before this one. Little more than 100 pages left in this one. The last one really slowed me down because it wasn't all that great. Nothing happened. The author must have gotten the message though this one is much better, it actually advances what I call the plot. We're getting more mysteries about the civilization that made the gates and our relationship to them.

Got ready for tomorrow doing the usual.

Had 3 calls, only reached one person. He just had a thousand plus emails in his junk folder. After so long he still really doesn't realize these "Asian dating sites" he's on are a scam. Sad actually. I cleaned it out and made it auto delete after 2 days so it didn't build up so much. His trash too, it's going every time he quits.

That's about it. Only two weeks left in the year. Let's start sliding down.

Mon:
Started with a meeting on the color table stuff. Again. Will we finally be able to test it ourselves? Put it behind us? Maybe.
We were able to do so. I took a clone of the device which happened to be the one in my room, while she was demonstrating so I could get the color table. Go me. So I printed a before and after page, and Christina did a few things too.
Also met with Kevin about a project from like 6 months ago they're finally getting around to. Sheesh.
Got hot pepper flakes from Don that I guess he makes every year.
Oh yeah forgot to tell you about the email I got last week, congratulating me on my upcoming "3 year" anniversary. Oh my.
Good haul. Must have not wanted to come back as the stuff for the 19th was tossed. Some good cheesecake, a brownie, 4 salad, many sandwiches. I'll bring some stuff to my parents after work.
Did only a little writing, got interrupted by more work. Gina wants yet another test on the eip login stuff. Haven't we given this to the customer yet? It's been months since it was finished. So bizarre. It's up on the app store now, she wants a test to install it and make sure it works. I got the device ready and loaded it. Still has the resolution in the corner so I guess no one updated the screens or something? I don't know. She's looking into that.

Went to give stuff to my parents.

Then Wegmans. They have no bulk section anymore I guess. Now it's all just tiny plastic containers with things. That's going backwards. We don't want more plastic containers, Wegmans, we want less. Also, the nuts I picked up, then turned around. The same thing was in a larger container for half the price. Very odd. I got that one instead. But no wafers? Is making candy so out of the public eye they don't even carry some wafers now? I looked around, didn't see any empty space they would have been. Very odd. I'll have to get some from aldi on Friday. I figured I wouldn't get to it by then anyway.

Back here, checked sites, ate dinner. No calls, but still the two from yesterday.

Reached both. One lady had started the new account wizard in thunderbird and just, wow, so complex to close that tab on top just didn't know what to do! So hard!

The other has some corporate version of malwarebytes that's password protected which she doesn't know because "the people" that installed the computer did it? What? Are you stealing mbam somehow? I'm not okay with this? Anyway, go talk to them I guess there's nothing I can do for you if you have a version I've never seen and can't interact with.

Tues:
Several things in the morning. I somehow got my device for the test from yesterday into a bad state, so I was trying to get it out and just decided it would have to be reloaded from scratch. I did that while in a very chaotic meeting about email size limits. Basically we didn't see the expanded size limit at all but noticed several bugs. Neat.

Finally got the device working and got the log they wanted from a week ago, as it's clear the other device will never be looked at or fixed.

Also with the assurance we would not see the resolution information outside I closed that task as complete as well.

Looked for the delivery again after lunch. No luck.

Finished the chapter.

Came back home, it snowed a bunch but there's no more in the forecast so I don't know if it'll be a W.C. if you know what I mean.

Checked sites, videos.

Got ready for tomorrow.

One call, sounds like a hardware issue on a laptop though. Cracked power connector. Sorry, can't do a thing for you, dude.

And xbox with the others. We figured out the new content, it's about jumping... into ... eyeballs? ?? ? ????? ? ?? ? ? ????  ? ? Okay Warframe are you okay?

Wed:
Not much work wise. Still no delivery, I checked twice. Where has that package gone?

I did write two chapters though.

No calls, let's hope that continues into tomorrow when I'm not going to be home in the evening.

But there are a few things to talk about today.

Happy first day of winter, hope you're not dreading it.

Don was out, and is out a few more days, so Christina ran the meeting. It was pretty short.

Otherwise I spent part of the day looking into the exchange server commands to increase the size of attachments so we can test the new "you can send larger attachments" code on the printer. First I had to get the command to run the command to work. Thankfully the internet helped me out there. Got the error messages taken care of so it would open. Then found all the places where the size was specified. There were a few. Finally was able to send big emails. Yay!

Also walked down to the cage area in 208, looking for Joe's package. No luck. Where did that thing go?

Got salad though. A lot of it! Weird. Nothing else, a pretzel with cheese? Sure, I'll eat that. That's tomorrow with my chili.

Came back here, checked sites and videos. Aw, Rudy filed for bankruptcy. He's not getting out of paying that $148 mil though so not sure what he hopes to achieve. Where did all his money go, wasn't he a lawyer?

Then out to my sister's house for my mother's birthday. No calls, thankfully, so I don't have that to worry about tonight. Got ready for tomorrow, so I don't have to rush around when I get back.

Looking ahead it's a busy weekend slash monday. Christina is out, as I expect many people to be. The parking lot will probably be quite bare tomorrow. Don't think we have anything major going on, as the color table thing and the email thing should be done? I'll do the shopping, no bank, seeing my parents again? I think we're doing game but then I always think that and we don't always so could go either way. No idea what's next as our current adventure ended.

Then there's Saturday, actually nothing really going on then. Everything is ready for Monday! Then there's eve, and the big day. Then back to work Tuesday.
