That's what I did. Or wait, did I do the OPPOSITE of work this weekend and INSTEAD had TONS of FUN?

 

Let's examine the facts. Pesky things, I know, but bare I mean bear with me.

 

Friday: handed laptop back in the morning. Then at 11:30 over to look at a system with some weird stuff going on. She had gigabytes, and I mean gigabytes of information in her windows TEMP folders. So much so that the unix command (I had it hooked up to MacBook Mini in order to study the problem, it wouldn't boot) rm -r *.* returned an error about the parameter list being TOO LONG. So I had to sit there and do "rm A*.tmp" wait. "rm B*.tmp" wait. "rm C*.tmp" wait. I. Hate. Windows. So finally after about two hours of waiting for stuff to delete the temp file was finally empty. See, the disk check just kept going, and going, and going, and giving error messages because of the shear number of files in this temp folder. So then I put the machine back together and it started the silly little vista "repair" thinger. Well, it was just churning away so I said, "yeah, I'm leaving. If it doesn't get fixed at the end of this, let me know and I'll pound on it some more." (paraphrasing) Turns out it ran for HOURS until it finally finished whatever the heck it was doing and booted normally. Another... victory? 

 

Anyway, then over to Grandma's, and then Sean's to give Mizzy her present, cake, and play some Demongate High. And Neil was there?! So it was distraction city as usual, but we did get through much of our next challenge, and right at the end, Mizzy played the "Disaster Strikes" card meaning the unknown person taking people over and making them shoot each other up took ME over and said, "you really should kill your friends, and then yourself." to which I said "You know, I really should!" so next time we'll pick up with Carlita slaughtering... everybody. But I do plan to play the "sacrifice" card to break out of it, killing myself before I can kill the hunky Ewen every female wants to hook up with. I figure I'll be all like, "I tried to kill him once, I can't do it again! Forgive me, Ewen" and then kill myself. 5XP later I'll wake up outside the challenge area (I hope) after having shown the people watching the tournament just how insanely powerful I really am when I'm not doing that pesky "holding back so as to not scare all my friends away" crap. In fact I want them to be stunned speechless at the orgy of violence unleashed by one unassuming little Spanish girl. So stunned they will be my slaves forever, just to stay on my good side. (okay, that's pushing it) 

Then played some Blaze Blue and went home at about 3:00. That's AM, by the way.

 

Got up around noon that same day, ate my Subway sandwich I got the day before (because I didn't know Mizzy was going to make dinner, thanks Mizzy) and went back out there again. Huh. Met up with Stan/Sean/Whitney/Neil and played more board games, watched Summer Wars (pretty good) and ate chilli. Even won the last game of Carcassonne thanks to my expertly placed farmer. Got some popcorn cake (again thanks to Mizzy) to take home as we just finished up the cake I had brought yesterday, and that was that. I had some today, it's goooood stuff, Mizzy!

 

Today balanced it out by doing something I loathe, yard work, specifically, picking up the sticks in my grandmother's yard. All but one area which I wasn't sure what was happening with it, as there's really no grass there. So I'll probably go back to finish it up tomorrow, given I have shopping and one little "job" at 2:30, just picking some pictures up to make a DVD. I left here at around 11:30 and got back I think around 2:00. 

 

Someone over there is obsessed with locks. They weren't home, so I went round the back and unlocked the door. Then *open* *whump* *OW* *What the?* happened. Apparently, they put the chains up.. on both doors, so I ran into the door because it didn't open! So I had to technically break in just to get the key for the shed to get the cart out. Really, it took me all of two minutes to get in, those little chain things are NOT stopping a determined criminal there folks, and I was trying not to break anything. A thief would just go *blamb* and that would be that.

Once inside I saw a blur which could have been a cat going upstairs, but one came over to check me out and the other let me pet him/her and was soooooo soft. So there. 

 

Then back here, went over Carlita to make sure she was up to spec for her big fight (the rules being somewhat fluid as they are). At maximum, she has about 900 energy when she's all buffed out. That's enough to run the entire world for about 13 minutes. I better get some kind of cool battle aura out of it. Guess who's going to be doing a lot of spending energy to reduce delay? Yeah, that'd be me. Especially as every 4 I spend only causes me to lose 1. *mad laughter*

 

Not many calls this weekend, oddly, what are you guys all outside and not breaking your computers? What's wrong with you?!

 

But it's a new month, and you know what that means. Paperwork, so I can do that, the shopping, and finish Grandma's yard tomorrow. Should be all kinds of exciting.

 

Oh, my FM transmitter doodad fits all in there pretty well, and it works great. No more plain old radio for me!
