Forgot to mention last Thurs, it was my 8 year anniversary! No one noticed! Yay!

Sigh.

Worked on D2.9 stuff, didn't get the D7.7 build. Officially. Didn't get an answer to my question either. Also didn't get the plugins so I could "test" what I have already seen in the demo but am now being told I should look into despite the fact previous to this I was told I didn't have to worry about it because it was behind the scenes stuff. Good times.
Did 3 models in the test, that seems good enough.

Then finished the first book, Beating the System! 36 chapters, 130,000+ words. I did a proofread before, of the part that was done then, now for the full book. Yeah, I finished the missing chapter, I figured out what they were going to do and it was pretty effective, combining spells like that. So the battle was won pretty quickly and I just put that 1,300 words in with the next chapter to make a super long final battle chapter and that was that. No battle map required.

After work stuff!

We didn't do game after all. Sean was late getting home, decorating his door apparently whatever that mean, then because of his tooth thing he said it was hard to talk.
I was messing around with Wizard of Legend, they really need to let you remap the controller. Their control scheme is awful.
We did Warframe instead.
Then I watched an episode of Loki.
Never did figure out a way to remap the controls. Stupid thing, even using the control panel and telling the mac "okay when playing this game, remap this button to be this button" did nothing. How is this still so bad in 2023? How many years have game controllers existed? Activating a menu with a trigger button? Activating spells with the upper buttons? That's horrific design, it's terrible. Why has this not been fixed?

Sat:
Went to router lady. Took a half hour, some of that was just waiting for the firmware to update. No real issues. She insisted she hadn't done anything to it but yet I couldn't get in with the default password so evidence seems to be against you, lady. I had to reset it and start from scratch. Why are you lying to me?
Picked some stuff up off the road too!
Put some seeds from my bushes in the back, we'll see if anything comes of it. I figure they're going to be all over the place, may as well put them where I want them to be. No wonder those bushes sprout up everywhere they have a lot of seeds. Never really paid attention to it before but they do.
Checked sites.
Did two runs of Wizard of Legend. Didn't get too far. They are really stingy with health in that game, and a single attack that hits you can take off 1/10 of it! Brutal. Where is the easy mode settings? I just want to mess around with the magic system not give myself more stress.
Watched ep 1 of season 2 wheel of time.
Put my book on the kindle so I can proofread it in a more natural environment.
Straightened up some digital folders a little, I needed to move things where they needed to be.
Did a kitty walk.
Looked up how to do mastery rank 19 easier. Oh, I was going about it wrong. It's the cheese. It's always about the cheese. Don't run around like an idiot trying to be stealthy, just use your melee weapon that can act at range to blow them up in total safety. Why didn't I think of that? The guy in the video used a gunblade, but my main weapon worked just as well.
Ran through it, it works. I can't take the test again for another 8 hours because reasons, but I can totally destroy it now.
Went to Sean's. Game went fine, we got rid of a dangerous necromancer that tried to take the town over and got more work from the town guard. What we didn't get was all her spellbooks, where are they? I'll have to look into that next game. That's the stuff I wanted! Screw money I want magic! But Sean never likes to give us anything we have to work for every copper that comes our way so I'm not holding my breath on that one.

Sun:
Did the Warframe thing. Had to try it all three times, for reasons. The second time I got detected from somewhere, still have no idea where there was nobody on screen. The third time I cheesed it even harder, as my blasts can travel through level geometry so I could take guys out through the floor. Neat. It worked out.
Did my reading, checked sites, videos.
Took a nap.
Had dinner.
2 calls over the weekend. One lady who claims she didn't know she was paying for greenlight? Uh, what? You call a company, ask to get their service, someone comes to the house, hooks up a bunch of stuff, and you don't know you're paying for it? What? Most people only have one 1 internet connection but she had two. Her excuse was she was still "trying to switch her email over" so maybe she finally figured that all out? I wouldn't want to pay for two services for months, as she did, but hey more power to her I guess if she has money to just set on fire. She said she took out the Spectrum stuff and now can't do email or something. Who knows. Yeah, if you've canceled your Spectrum account finally they may disable the email a lot faster. Common sense? I didn't reach her, of course.
The other a printer issue, didn't know her wi-fi password, of course. So I get to go over there. Yay. At least it's not too far away, I guess? She has a Mac otherwise I would have just remoted into the device and looked that way myself. Oh well, she gets to pay me.

Did xbox with the others, special event going on in Remnant right now. Got enough special crystal to get a corrupted gun. It's okay.

Mon:
Caught a mouse last night. Noticed more "offerings" on the counter so I put the trap out again. And there they were. A jumper for sure. Nervous little guy. When it's not raining I'll put him out, hope he has enough time to make a burrow and get food (do they gather food like a squirrel?) before winter. But I can't keep him, sorry little one.
Got the plugins, or at least a set of plugins. So I was able to finally do the behind the scenes test. I followed the demo and yup, surprise surprise, it acted in exactly the same way. What a shock.

Finished the latest emberhaven chapter, but didn't do all the content so another will be written.

Did more proofreading.

And then the 3:00 meeting. Ugh. At least we finally got the DoD people set. Turned out to be some admin consent on their end. Nothing to do with our software at all. Neat. The log even said this, you know, the log he could have looked at a week ago, or more. Maybe two weeks? Anyway, that ran until 4:30.

Went to HP printer lady. She is using that awful instant ink service. The printer wouldn't connect to it. I finally reset the whole thing to factory defaults and set it back up. That cleared it up.

Got home at 6:00. No calls, but still the one for yesterday. A quick dinner and checked sites.

30 minutes with email lady. Finally got through her head she can't use spectrum email if she's not paying for it, and to make sure to send from gmail, and to not send a message with no body or subject as a test because it's just going to get eaten up by spam filters way before it gets to me.

Watched the apple event!

Then did more of the Remnant event. Got another gun, a pistol type.

Tues:
Caught two more mice overnight. Actually one before bed, and one during the night. What am I going to do with these three mice? They're all in one cage, have no idea they are jumpy!

Work time, I still had no answer for the cert stuff, so I went ahead and just tried it. Wouldn't issue the cert with the changes I thought he wanted me to make. But it was the one that worked before anyway? So I just put it back the way it way and that part was fine. The signing cert did work now, I was able to sign the email so that's a good step.

Uh, otherwise nothing work wise. Still no news on D7.8 final version.

So I finished the last chapter of the emberhaven, won't have new material until December, and did more proofreading.

Got a small haul, 2 sandwiches and some yogurt, 3 cheesecake. Just enough for the rest of the week I guess. Next date is Friday we'll see what is left. They're really not putting as much out now.

Came back here, checked sites, ate dinner.

The mice are so cute! They're all huddled together. You know little ones, you could stay if you promised no babies. You can't promise that? I know. I gave them the little house but they didn't move into it yet.

One call, another person putting his machine to sleep, rather than rebooting it. A reboot solved his issue though.

7:00 and no kiddies. Didn't expect any really based on passed years and it's pretty nasty out tonight but maybe one?
Then xbox with the others.

Wed:
I guess it's winter now. It was snowing pretty hard on the way to work today. It's also officially the holiday season, as all the spam email I get now is holiday related.

There was something else on the way to work. Stopped at my parent's house to release 4 mice into the woods behind their house. Yes, you saw it right, those keeping track at home will be saying "but there were only 3 mice." and they would be right. I caught another. Sheesh. I felt bad putting them out there in the cold but what can I really do? Good luck little ones, don't get caught by that mean old cat that hangs around.

No work today, still no news on the "early" D7.8. So much for that.

Did more proofreading. I think I'm 70% about done?

Back here, Tinker was meowing like he wanted to go out. I warned him! We went out and it started snowing again, not flakes, those little balls. He basically ran back to the door. He's never done that, and let himself inside. Poor kitty! Think our walking days are numbered for the moment.

Checked sites, videos, ate dinner.

One call, something about email for facebook lady from days ago. Didn't reach her. Or the lady for the keyboard I got today. Still hung over from candy night?

Messed with my Remnant build to go back to healer as Mizzy isn't doing doctor anymore. And did a wizard of legend run. Can get past the first boss now, as long as it's the ice lady.

Got another mouse last night! That's #5. Sheesh. I'll keep him around a few days just to see if any more of his little friends show up.

Not much at work, still no D7.8, so much for early. I guess we'll get it tomorrow at the prophesied time.

Finished the proof read. It's weird, some of my blue boxes are correct and have only white text. Some have only black text. Some have a mix. I don't get it. I'll have some work to do.

Finished chapter 1 of the next book! I think. I don't know how I want to start it, exactly. It's right after the first book ends, which seems logical. But is it correct?

Meeting, it was short there's hardly anything on the backlog now.

Called keyboard lady, no answer. So I came home. Did the usual stuff.
3 calls? Okay, email lady from yesterday canceling her call. Keyboard lady saying she wants next Wednesday. And some other lady. She has some sort of printer issue, I ran the "print doctor" which actually gave a result. How about that? Something about the cartridges. Not much I can do about that.

Looking ahead I'll probably have real work to do tomorrow. If we get the stupid thing. Then shopping and seeing my parents. I'm assuming we're doing game nothing has been said.

Let's see, over the weekend take care of book 1 character sheets, update them for the next stuff I want them to do/have. (I want to change up my archer's weapons, and I have to give Olaph his new spells and such.)

Have my parents over, they can see the last gift and I can wrap it. Maybe leaves? But I  doubt it. As always my big tree in the back is hardly down.

I have a few things, minor stuff, to take care of. That finishes up October. Only two months left. See you all next time.
