Fri:
Nothing much work wise.
Did go out to lunch with everyone and the rain held off just long enough so that was good. We didn't even have to pay, Anna paid the whole thing. That was nice of her.
Helped Louis with some tablet stuff, then he vanished so I guess it's fine? Something about ipv6 in a library for a kiosk machine. Strange combination, hope they get it sorted out. Who uses ipV6 internally anyway? Weird.
Wrote part of the next chapter, held up by what to actually make Jesse so she stops getting fireballed in the face all the time.
Went to the bank.
Did the shopping.
Saw my parents.
Came back, sites, videos.
Finished the chapter, as I decided on what to make Jesse. She's just getting a ring or something to raise her reflexes and she can do the "dodge" move from the game where she just uses TK to push herself. Seems the closest to what the game shows her doing, as she can't exactly heal herself like she does there, not getting hit seems the next best thing.

Sat:
Sites and videos in the morning after I got up.
Did my paperwork and balanced checkbook, I was getting way behind on that. I wasn't very far off, but at least everything is nicely updated again. Should I buy more mutual funds? That is what one does, is it not?
Put in a holiday order of something I found in a catalog. Yup, starting to get them in, and it was too cute not to get. Oh, it's backordered until November? Great, great, that's fine. Probably on a boat somewhere floating in a harbor that can't be unloaded.
Ate lunch.
Went to see the guy with many, many firefox tabs open. Closed these firefox tabs. How did he get so many "new tab" tabs open? Weird. Machine seemed fine afte that. Did a few things, nothing really wrong with it.
Got back, won The Outer Worlds. Good game, everything worked out. Yay!
Went to Sean's. Talked about demons a fair bit, but we did work out the next leg of our journey. I didn't do much for the combat, it was happening elsewhere. Nor did I find anything out with my magic, but the demon that was summoned was able to find stuff out? Huh, shouldn't his ratings be lower than mine? Actually I have 5s in all my ratings so we should be the same. She gave him an 8 insight, mine is a 7 I think so it can't roll that much higher! Weird. Eh, my time will come.
Came home and played some stages of the aliens game. (I guess no one is playing it much anymore? I read a story on Monday that only 800 people (on pc) were playing it. Whoops?)

Sun:
Got up far too late, but then I had gone to bed late.
Checked sites, videos.
Wrote up the next chapter of the story, now that it had happened. We should do more this month, not 2 months from now. In fact we worked out that we can do this game, er, once a month until next year. That's okay, right?
Worked on the Literati, see if I can give it to my mother? It's just sitting there otherwise.
looked into what game I would play next. I knew I bought something else when I got The Lost Worlds but what was it? Finally found it, Ni No Kuni. Of course.
Installed it. Played a bit. Ah, I remember this game. Maybe I can finally finish it this time because the platform I'm trying to play on doesn't break? That would be nice. BTW when is FF7 remake coming out for PC? Wouldn't mind playing that game, hint, hint square.
Got ready for tomorrow.
No calls, but did call someone that emailed me. They needed to enter their email password.
Oh, I did get a call later though. She had her email settings totally wrong. How did that happen?
Played Aliens with the others.

Mon:
Worked on setting up the machine for the checkbox test. Whoops, I picked R21-11 instead of R21-10 like a fool. When will I ever learn? At least I double cheked it and loaded the right thing right after that. Not a problem.
Apple event today!
Worked on the next chapter. Finished it, sorta. I ended it a little early to get to the next chapter on a cliff hanger, because I'm that sort of fellow.
Watched the apple event. New Macbook Pros with better processors, and actual ports. Like, real, honest to goodness ports. The rumors were true. They're quite tempting, given my machine is 13 years old now. But I have to ask myself, do I need that kind of power anymore? I mean I originally got this machine to digitize stuff like DVDs which isn't something I do a ton of anymore, and I do have the PC which would do just as well. Heck, maybe the mac mini actually would put this device to shame now. How can I know? I have been thinking of moving my files to some kind of network storage, so any of my machines could get at them. I don't know, it's a little annoying trying to use newer stuff, like Blender, on this machine now. Stuff just doesn't run. But at the same time I probably have a lot of 32bit stuff that wouldn't run on a newer machine either. So that's no good. Well, no rush on that, this machine is working fine so it's only annoyances at this point.
Otherwise nothing work wise.

Came back here, checked sites, ate dinner. No calls, so I played more Ni No Kuni.

Tues:
Same story today, work wise. I talked to Don about the virtuals move of two weeks ago so he could get the details for some sort of disaster relief exercise the managers are going through. Otherwise nothing new came in. Christina was I guess tracking down a bug on versa because she was trying to get logs off it. You can't get logs off a machine while it has an active job. A tremendous design choice by Fuji. 100% would implement again.

So I wrote a chapter and a half, and we're closing in on the end of the tale. Just two more sealing sites and her gun will be upgraded enough to punch through the wall and have the final confrontation. She met her brother in this last chapter.

Came back here, three calls. iMac guy telling me his iMac should arrive Thursday. Reminds me I have to get a router for him, he didn't get the correct power cord with ethernet. Not calling him back, he doesn't have it yet so why bother? A lady that needs to switch to Thunderbird, she's having issues with Windows Live Mail, as one does. And York, who I called back because they tripped the Frontier anti-spam measures by sending out too many emails today I guess. So as the kitten cats go in tomorow (please remember this time???) I'm going there Thursday.

Ate dinner, checked sites, probably do some Aliens stuff but Sean isn't around yet so I have a half hour. Can't get very far in NiNo maybe I'll just work on the book. Hate having just some of a chapter done.

Finished it.

Then did aliens. We didn't die.

Wed:
One minor work thing today, Kevin wanted to know if the 32 character limit existed on primelink as well as versalink, which I had shown earlier. So I borrowed Christina's machine for a few minutes to show that. Otherwise, I did some writing, and left early to get to the vet. $600 for both cats. Sheesh. I guess lab work is expensive. Tinker didn't to cooperate with the blood work. He's gotten feisty in his old age I guess.

Oh yeah, did a windows update. 4 hours it took it. Finally going from version 1803 from may of 2019 to 20H1 I think it was, the second to last one. Dark mode finally works in explorer. But still, I started it at 8:30 and it didn't finish until 12:30. On an SSD. It had so many steps. Downloading. Then more downloading. Then multiple progress to 100% indicators. Then reboots, about 3-4 of them. Crazy. How is that acceptable, MS?

Otherwise not much else to talk about. Scheduled Oliver for next month.

Came back here, checked sites, movies and ate dinner.

Two calls today. One was 10 minutes, downloading a PDF reader on an android phone.

The other has a new laptop to setup. She wanted Sunday of all days. Yay! I haven't worked a sunday in months. My life is so great.

Played some NiNo.

Thurs:
Meeting day. But wait, there was a useless USDA task as well! Don wanted some stupid stuff done, like do a copy, and send an email. Like we would have somehow broken that functionality. You know. In our copiers. But sure, why not? So I did that, and sent him the report on exactly what I had done.

Otherwise the two meetings. I love the first one, "oh this should be a short meeting." *meeting takes the usual 35 minutes* Uh huh.

Wrote the next chapter, no more water spirit. That town gets wrecked up. Oh well, #noconsequences.

I'm dropping a chapter, it's long enough and I don't feel like what I originally planned is all that interesting. I'm thinking of dropping another too, honestly once she gets the final gun, she would immediately head to the wall to blow it up. #downwithwalls There would be no time for her brother to attack the place. So there may be just two more chapters.

Came back here, went to the guy down the street, he said he couldn't get his machine turned on. I reseated the plugs and it came on. That was too hard for you to try I guess?

Sites, dinner, the usual.

And now as usual the future. Two jobs for the weekend, and I haven't made my calls yet. Sean wants me over to watch alien movies, but we would have to start pretty late but maybe it'll happen.

Now I have: Lady from far away needed her password of password on her pc changed. And going to set up the iMac for a guy that finally got it Sunday. May as well, I'm already working one job.

Friday is the usual stuff, shopping, getting kitty treats, no bank this week. Seeing my parents.

That should finish up the week. 

I played a bit more NiNo and now it's time for bed. See you all next week, the last week of October. Scary!
