2018-08-10:

I did add the pause functionality to the little tool I made, and a way to go to a job while putting your time in, so you can see how long you worked on it in total. For awhile I couldn't open the script, which was very weird. Good thing I had a backup copy I could open and do that work again. Thanks, past me.

Gave the guy the laptop back, after putting it back together of course. The screws were there.

Chris was trying some stuff for AT&T, he didn't get very far. But he seems to have found a new bug in 4.0, it adds a / next to the / so the thing he was trying just flat out fails. Whoops.

Went to my parents, no Gabe. In fact no cats at all, they have cats, right? I did see Jenny sleeping so they have one at least.
Forgot my camera, I wanted to see if I could get a picture of a hummingbird.

Then to the bank, and shopping.

Came back here, got a call about office hanging up. We reloaded it, but I think it was the document. I saved it as a .doc file with libreoffice and it no longer crashed. Thanks, libreoffice, you're the best.

Then reached the one guy I didn't yesterday. His machine was hung up, I think he was putting it to sleep though. I had him force it off and that worked. He also ran mbam under my direction.

Started chapter 29, the big fight. Magnus hasn't even gone yet, and without some creative thinking the spirit would have been hit and Lysanias' leg would be almost gone. Sheesh.

With nothing tomorrow I'll try finishing up the chapter in the morning and go over to paint in the afternoon. If they need me. We'll see.

Sat:
Woke up at seven, wondering why I was awake at seven. Guess my internal clock doesn't know the difference between a weekday and a weekend.

Got up, finished chapter 20. Just 400 words short of 100,000 for this book. Nice.

Battle wasn't even as bad as I figured. I could have had some other, minor, demons join the fray. Ah well.

Ate lunch and left for painting land.

We were just doing trim, and we got two rooms and a walkway done. At least an initial coat, anyway. Who was we, by the way? Just Mizzy.

Came back here at about 8:00, had dinner, and went to bed.

Sun:
Got up fairly late, checked my sites. Ate lunch, and got to work on Sean's christmas present. Got three of the six done, or at least I think. As usual it was all "thin walls" so even the models made by others needed adjustment. But the last one I uploaded hasn't updated the model information so I don't know what to do. Ordered the other parts of it though, it should look pretty good when all said and done.

Watched some My Hero Academia as I thought it was over. Nope. Whoops.

Not much else.

Mon:
I was a good boy today.
A very, very good boy.
I just did the stupid reliability tests, and got to almost 70% done. One bug written.
Another solid three hours should have it solved.
Sigh.

No calls so I came back here.
Figured out the issue with the upload from yesterday, and started work on the next 3 things. The first two were fine with almost no issues. Yay!
The last one… well, I had to basically redo the whole thing. It was just too complex, and the middle part showed as hollow. It was weird, like it lost geometry or something.

Hopefully they all print!

Time for bed.

Tues:
Finished it. And not a moment too soon.
No real reason, just thought I would say that.

What did I finish? The reliability test. Hopefully forever. Of course that means my super cool tool will probably never be used again. Ah well, small price to pay.

Certainly did not start writing chapter 4 after that. No.

Came back here, did a few things.
Like updating Matching Seasons on the google play store. Do you know there are 12 installs of that? Twelve! Imagine my excitement. Updating it was annoying, in part because of passwords and only having done it once and that was three years ago. I needed to "target a newer API" or I would have been kicked off the store. Those 12 people would have been pretty disappointed, let me tell you.

Finished up the models for the gift. Turned out more of them were still the wrong size, and shrinking them led to more "thin walls!" Which is odd, because they're all 30mm high. That's 3cm. How can anything be smaller than 1mm at this point? I have no idea.

Made some calls, got the SSD in for the girl with the macbook, so she'll drop it off so I can install it.

Checked sites, watched videos.

And made an appointment for tomorrow.

Got ready for tomorrow.

And it's only 8:00.
Crusing.

Wrote a bit, realized I had a few notes to take care of like getting some new pictures for my work laptop wallpaper and more laptops to take to staples.

Wed:
A lot of poking around today, nothing too great accomplished. Had a meeting about black screens, did a little exxon work, little reading of Pyre, oddly no writing.

Went to second job, a Mac was magically replaced with a PC which I cleaned out. That's fine. Sold her a refurb machine I won't actually make any money on, but at least I'll save her some.

Came back here, had a MacBook dropped off for SSD conversion. Got that going.

Ate dinner, checked sites.

Talked to people for some time, one guy with a Vista (ugh) machine giving an odd ping error. I'm going over there tomorrow. And a lady who was scammed, just gave her machine a quick look over from here.

Got the Mac buttoned up, took care of the cats and it's basically bedtime.

Sheesh.

Thurs:
Wait, they're adding new features? It was 100% content, close of code, don't screw anything up weeks ago? What are these people thinking?
And here's another thing. Went to lunch and in the room with the fridge has a whole shopping bag full of half empty water bottles. Really? The "cans for kids" thing is right there. You had to walk past it to throw them in the trash. It took me 2 minutes, tops, to get the water out and throw them in there.

This is why the world is being buried in plastic, by the way. I mean come on, it was right there. Plus he donates the money to children's causes. YOU'RE STEALING FROM KIDS. Sorry, feel very strongly about that.

Anyway, after loading the new version with no bug fixes and the new feature I tested the new feature. Wrote two bugs, and one feature request. I mean if they've had all this time, fix a few more bugs, for crying out loud.

Made some new official test cases for it, late in the game that it is. But hey, at least there was an official spec document that mentioned it. That's huge around here.

Printed the book, though Sean this evening said to hold off because he's finding a lot of things he's fixing all on his own. Silly Sean.

Went to see about the router, and it was the router. Of course being Vista he had the old unsupported MSE and I couldn't load the real version of Mbam, had to use the compatibility one.

Got back here, several calls today, yay. Ate dinner.
Made calls.

A half hour powering a machine off and on to get rid of a scam window he said he couldn't close (and subsequent running of Mbam) and a lady getting her router set up, which I actually didn't mind.

Got ready for tomorrow, the new official release of the software should be at some point, so hopefully I can get on that and get away from the tablet nonsense for a bit.

Looking to the future, I can go to the bank tomorrow, and of course the shopping. See my parents, no Sean? Wait, this just in, no parents either. Do they even still exist? Are they incoporial ghosts now that just text me from beyond? Weird. Maybe I'll have them over for a movie night again on Saturday. (If they can become coporial again) Sean's working on finishing the book, he's just proofreading it now. It's only been three years, I think he's somewhat desperate to have it done. He's been putting a lot of effort into it lately.

Otherwise, pretty empty weekend. I need to do paperwork, cut the lawn, oh, the lawn!
It filled in. Yeah, I was getting the mail like two days ago and stopped dead in my tracks. I looked over a field of green. It's two different kinds of grass, so that grass seed I bought finally activated. Weird. Of course the patch that was "repaired" by the water company? Still just weeds. Sigh.

Guess that's all the rambling for this week.
See you on the same rambling time, same rambling station next time.
