Is more love.
Simple setup this morning, right? That old machine just would not give up the data. My adapter seems broken somehow, so I spent a couple of hours trying various things to get the stuff off. No luck. Asked if they had a flash drive big enough, looked and looked. Nope. Oh wait I have an external hard drive?
The rest of the day went fine. Tuneup. Plugged a drive in correctly for someone. Then pronounced a machine dead. I'm going back Saturday to set up the replacement. Power surge, got the monitor too, shoot I forgot I was going to recommend a battery backup too.
Book has been going okay, but I've been distracted by season 2 of the mentalist I suddenly remembered. They're up to season 4 now, sheesh. Anyway, I figured out where I wanted to send them and what I wanted to happen, which of course changed into something else as I started writing it. Still, another chapter down at the half way point, and it'll tie in much better with the rest of the book, so that's good.
Work otherwise has been good. Oh yeah, finally got another invoice from last year, November, paid this week. Weird. Helped the ice cream people out, their machine was totally screwed up, in so many ways. Also suggested some sort of hot ice cream so they could continue business in the winter, I'm sure they'll get right on that. Good week for hating PCs, oh yeah.
The car repair was also less then quoted, he said parts+labor on just the brakes was $350 but the whole job was done for less then that. Have my second key again, as the original was never found. *angry face*
Game Saturday, the magic one. Going to a place in Chili right before that, she just wants me to tell her how to use her DVD/VCR unit she bought a year ago. Yeah.
Busy day tomorrow, three places to go, then Mom seems to be having trouble faxing something, and of course seeing the aged one. I'm sure we'll have plenty of new things to talk about because
1) I am a very interesting person with lots to talk about, and I'm a chatterbox.
2) She is an interesting person with an interesting life, and in no way are the staff mean to her, and the food is great there.
Have to print some more labels now, and get to bed, yes that would be nice, bedtime.
