I've gotten two pieces of mail this week relating to Christmas. A "your first heavenly angel's christmas ornament is free" and "miniature snoopy stockings". Weird.
I haven't been writing as much as I should, I've been reading instead. I'm only up to 28287 words. I wanted to think of the next adventure and find something else Jaden could do, and I think I've settled on both. Sean said taking some cybernetic stuff and repurposing it into separate things might be possible, so I'm giving her some electronic, mechanical, and cybernetic skills she can use to build stuff with. The next mission will be an NPC escort mission, which should be fun?
Work is pretty slow, though I've been seeing some major problems lately so it's worked out in that sense I guess. One Mac, I don't have a firewire 800 to 400 cable so I tried to copy his 60gb over the network. Nope, 10.4 isn't good enough, you need 10.5 at least. Oh, what's that, his internal CD drive is shot because he's made "hundreds" of CDs? (Why?) Finally got 10.6 installed, then had to download a 1gb file for 10.6.8, then finally got that in. It's the same machine as mine, mine doesn't seem that slow, there was something weird with it. Doesn't matter now, it's been replaced.
Then a PC with my friend the svchost.exe memory chomper. I didn't even try, I was just like, yeah, I'm taking it and reloading XP. Deal.
I've got a laptop with a dead HD but apparently she doesn't have the money now to fix it.
Put up the remains of a year and one month old HP with an apparent dead motherboard. Tried replacing RAM, the processor, unplugging the drives, nothing. It would turn on, but then just hang at the Dell logo within a second. So I transferred his stuff to his new one, and we'll see if the pieces of his sell. (The screen, the CD drive and the fan) No action yet, they end on Saturday.
Been pretty cool, supposed to be in the 70s tomorrow and rain. And it's Aged One day! Hurray.
Got my power supply and ice cream from the Scoops people, that took awhile, but at least I didn't need it during the interim.
No work for tomorrow, but Bert wants me to stop and look at specs for his new machine. Just buy something already, it doesn't matter anymore. CPUs haven't moved forward in 5 years.
Tomorrow is look alike day, I think I'll look alike-a myself.
Just ordered Mizzy's b-day gift, hope she enjoys.
Motorcycle accident on the bay bridge I guess. It was all blocked off, and they were loading a motorcycle onto a truck. Cops all over but no ambulance that I recall seeing.
That's about it for this week. Some kind of show with Sean/Mizzy this saturday at RIT perhaps? Hard to say. Mighty Taco seems to be a big hit over there.
