Fri:
More work. Found out D7.6 had a goodie, adding cards in. Why wouldn't it?
So I tested that. It had been put in a long time ago, and honestly I'm pretty sure I tested it with the last "trunk" release too so why it aws even on the list baffled me. I mean Yamcha was on the list! Why? Halftime entertainment. I know 99.99% of you will not get that joke. It's okay. What was I saying? Oh right work. It worked fine. Sorta.
Had to reload it a few times, turning FIPS killed it. Not sure if I should write a bug about it, not like I can get logs though I guess I could capture the output of the console? Maybe I'll do that.
Looked at a script to install weblets, had to fix it. The originator was doing something I had no idea how it worked in the first place. It was interating with a for loop over what seemed to be an array of characters not an array of strings. Turns out it's a different behavior if the file you open has one line or multiple: Powershell treats single line files as an array of characters but multiline files as an array of strings. That's how it should work. That was sarcasm, that's the stupidist thing I've ever heard. The same code producing two different outputs because a file had one or two lines? (In this case the output was 17 error messages, the number of characters in the file. So dumb) But that's just the MS credo.
Did shopping, missed Wegmans, had to go after seeing parents.
Was there getting nuts. Watched a lady fill a bag with several different kinds. I was thinking, "you know, those cost different amounts, what label are you going to put on there?" Then she turned to look at me. Unmasked. (There's another mask mandate, you have to be masked in places.) "Ah, much is explained."
Then home for game. We got through the second door. And fought someone. And it's basically an empty room. Yay! And then we get to fight someone next time. What is this a boss rush? Oh right he had no idea where to take the story so he's just throwing some combats at us. Got it.

Sat:
Did some cleaning, my parents are coming over for the last Christmas movie. I mean it's not the last one ever, more will be made I'm sure, it's just the last one we'll see together this year.
Played some FF7 Remake, which dropped for PC. Don't ask too many questions about where it came from. I'll happily buy it for $50 on Steam, but for $70 on Epic? Eehhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Started making the candy.
Went out to my 1:30. No problem, just some large video files she didn't need any more clogging her drive up. Really, it totally filled it up to within a GB. Deleting them freed up like 350GB of space. Job done.
Finished the candy.
Checked sites, videos.
Snowed in the morning but rained the rest of the day. Snow is, sadly, still around. We may get some sort of mix on Friday, so it may be a half white Christmas.
Ate dinner. Watched claymation Christmas.
Waited until parents arrived.
Parents arrived, watched movie.
Then did some back 4 blood, with mixed results. We died at the end, most getting knocked off a ship in one hit. Whoops. That's a bold design choice for sure.
More FF7, you know an actually good game. I'm enjoying it. Boss fights are much harder than the original, in my opinion. Honestly the original seemed to be on easy mode, this game actually keeps you on your toes. Doesn't feel too punishing though, so well done!

Sun:
Wrapped the gifts and put them in the trunk for game night. I think I'm all ready for Christmas.
Checked sites, videos.
Ate lunch, yes it took me awhile to wrap the gifts, I didn't get up that late.
Worked on the game, had to come up with this year's "theme." Once I did it was simply a matter of gathering the information and putting it on paper.
Finished what I wanted to do with it. I seem to have created a phantom person, creating enough questions for 4 people instead of 3. Whoops. Good going, what was I thinking?
Played FF7. This will, BTW, be my default activity from now on. I've waited literal years for this stupid thing, and at the pace they're going to release the "complete" game I'll be dead before it's all out. So forget my resolve to play it only when the complete game is available. It'll never happen. Haven't even gotten up to meeting Aerith yet, I mean I met her in the first few minutes as normal I'm talking about as a party member.
Got ready for tomorrow.
Ate dinner.
More FF7. Almost to the second reactor.

Mon:
Started with taking a log file for the printer that won't boot right after you turn on FIPS mode. I could only collect the data from the serial cable because of course it's not booting right! Wrote up the bug, hope they get something out of it.
Went to the dentist. I got praised, but haven't really changed anything. Odd.
Went back to work. Ate lunch.
Had to watch/pass the annual "even though you don't work with any sensitive personal data in your position you must learn about the EU data protection acts!" videos. Sure, sure, I do.
Otherwise just some more reading.
Went to see dentist guy, he doesn't know his apple password or what phone number he would have used ending in 91 (or 19 I forget now) but I do know his password was used in firefox May 2020. Why did he change it? But at least I found his google password. I'll have to end up going back there once he convinces Apple he is who he says.
Came back here, checked sites, ate dinner.
One call, worked with her to make sure her machine was fine. It was.
Got ready for tomorrow, think I'll do some FF7.

Tues:
Won an xbox. Yes, my 4th one? Two hours later it was canceled "item is not in stock or damaged." Uh huh. Really?
Work wise not much happened. We got a new script that handles single lines, not the way I did it, for the for each statement, but sure, go with your complicated for statement and more math. Go ahead. Looked it over, seemed fine. Christina said she tested it, so that task is done.
Otherwise finished the proofread of the latest book, and wrote the partial chapter for the Tyana game I didn't get to before. Now what do I write?
Went to get cookies and came home.
No calls, so it looks like we'll be doing the fight tonight.
We did it! Got through it, didn't capture her.
Played some Warframe.

Wed:
Tested the final plugin on a versalink device. It was still fine, despite all the weird version number changes I guess it's the same thing because it worked.
Did some reading, nothing really exciting happened.
Saw my mother for her birthday, gave her presents and ate cake.
Got home to an hour phone call at 8:30, yay HP printers! Two of them, took her 10 minutes to decide the thing wasn't on the wireless despite the LED being solid, 20 minutes to get me on her system to figure out what her wi-fi name was, 10 minutes to type her password because she couldn't figure out how to do it (I mean really???) and another 20 minutes on her machine where the printer is physically plugged in but hp app is all "unknown printer status." I finally showed her another way to print as it was 9:30 at that point.
Didn't call ellen at 9:30. I'll have to do that tomorrow.
Got ready for tomorrow and joined the others for warframe. Did a few railjack missions, as it wasn't "nighttime" on the planet we need it to be nighttime on. But you've seen my rant on that before so I won't rehash it.

Thurs:
Christina emailed me, despite being off work, that the plugins should be tested on other products. So I did. They were fine, though something odd is going on with one product that it won't let me email myself. Something about a certificate. Surprise, surprise.
Otherwise cleaned up a little, did some reading. No meetings, obviously. There was practically no one in the building when I went around, maybe 4 people? And one was leaving, so...
Got cat food and litter, did the shopping a day early, and came home.
One call, the guy from a few days ago got a new machine. Uh, if you were getting a new machine anyway why did you... never mind.
Still have to call Ellen, as I didn't last night.
Ate dinner, checked yesterday and today's sites. Got ready for tomorrow, though I'll have plenty of time to do so.

Future!

Some kind of holiday coming up? Tomorrow is Play FF7 day I don't know what you're doing. I will see my parents in the evening of course for our game. Everything is boxed up and ready to go. Then the day after that we'll do a present thing. Nothing planned for the day after that though.

Well, I'll be calling Ellen soon and then FF7 for a bit. I hope you all have a great present day and I'll see you close to the end of the year. Yes, we are just days away, like a week and a tiny bit. It's gonna start getting better, I just know it. Right?

See you then!
