Got the shopping done this morning. No Dead Island, it was sold out everywhere, boo. Got oil for the car, bananas for the dessert, and more books out. Also a tub of driveway stuff. 

 

Which just barely covered it. I wasn't sure if it would, but the last little bit in the bucket did finish the job off. I did sacrifice part of one edge, it didn't get done. I need to buy a little more in the spring next year to seal the hole, so maybe I can get a half can? Hummm.

 

Then out to the job. It BSODed immediately on booting, so I brought it up with my Linux flash drive and was actually pretty impressed with how quick the machine was. Removed some suspicious files, cleaned out all the temp folders, rebooted into safe mode. Still impressed with the speed, ran ccleaner, mbam, it all seemed fine. Then I started it in normal mode. Drag, drag, drag, drag. Ugh, windows is such utter crap! I was like, what the heck is happening? I was so impressed a minute ago, now I'm ready to shoot this thing. When it finally came up it was all like "an unauthorized change has been made" something about licensing. Apparently it got into its dumb little head it was not a valid installation anymore. So that took another 45 minutes of screwing around, finally resulting in a phone call to slowly punch in the 54 digit number and tediously punch in the 54 digit returned number. That finally got it going again. But really, only Vista could turn a machine running lighting fast from a crappy 1GB flash drive to a total slug running from a 3gbps SATA drive. It takes that special kind of talent. At least it stopped blue screening.

 

Came home, it was time to eat again. Which I did. Got absolutely zero calls today for some reason. Got hold of one person I missed yesterday, apparently because the number they gave me did not match up to what their caller id said their number was (I always check after two days of not reaching someone) so obviously you don't even know your own phone number? He decided to just scrap the machine rather then put money into it. Sigh.

 

So just one for tomorrow, dropping off the battery. Guess my thinking that business was going to improve was a bit premature.
