2016-03-04:

Fri:
Finished copy tests from the platen, but then got the go ahead for the new build. It installed, but we knew about the crash in the middle of it. Went okay after that. Spent the rest of the day going though open bugs. Manager had a fever so she wasn't around. Hope to start the other two services next week.

Did the shopping as usual. No bank, but did my ink so the staples money can continue. Looked for hot cocoa, but they only had nesquick powder. Didn't think to look until I was already in line, it goes in milk but not water. I could just bring cold chocolate milk, but I wanted to use the hot water so nicely provided. Hummmm.

Dinner, then back here to cut out pony stickers and watch more Elementary. Getting near the end! Made a call and booked another job for tomorrow.

Sat:
Not many jobs to do, so I finished up Elementary. Also sat and continued working on cutting out this huge pile of stickers while watching.

Found the document the guy wanted me to find. The extension had been removed so he couldn't open it. So it wasn't that it was missing, it was just treated as some sort of unix executable.

Then over to the lady with the wi-fi issue. Turned the frontier equipment off, and got her laptop straightened out. DSL connection at 5mb/sec. Yuck. But what can you expect from DSL, right?

Then watched that sole episode of Sherlock I've had kicking around waiting.

Also the last of the pony episodes, some very good ones this season. Very good.

Then finished off with my weekly shows, and went to bed.

Sun:
Quite a relaxing day, with me putting all the sorted games (well, most of them) on ebay. That took the whole morning. But they're all on!

Then finally played the last chapters of Starcraft 2. Got through a bunch of missions, so that was fun.

My mailbox is totally uprooted, so we're going to have to do something about that.

No real calls today, but did get the go ahead to buy that lady a machine so she can work from home now. Ordered that up. Also the backup drive for Bobby, cleaned up a little, that sort of thing.

Shoot, didn't call the map guy, oh well, I'll call him after work. So hopefully I won't get home too late tomorrow. It should be a quick job.

Now to clean the mouse, and get to bed.

Mon:
Which I did not do, because it just got too late. I'll do it later tonight, hopefully.

Got through a lot of the access roles stuff in the morning, then had a meeting with various people about my copy results and what they actually meant. They agreed putting an 8.5 x 11 sheet on the copier should give you an 8.5 x 11 sheet *shock horror*. So I spent about an hour and half after that redoing the test with the developer hooked in and viewing what was going on, both for the Staples product and the native UI. It did the letter size properly, by the way.

Called the map guy, got over there and took care of some stuff for them. Got her RAM installed, answered a few questions for him. That sort of thing.

Got gas on the way home, and back here to make my calls.

All my favorites. The dentist guy and Ellen. And maybe both the batteries I recently installed are bad! And my sales tax is due, so I have to figure that up. Both my paperwork for this month and for the year back at this point. So fun.

Did the paperwork and sales tax. Bye money that was never mine to begin with! *waves*

Time for bed, I guess.

Tues:
More copy today, though I did finish access roles and almost finished boot up. I switched machines with senpai to see if the copy tests I had run from the glass were different. Oddly, only the native copy was, the staples copy wasn't. It shouldn't be, but there was some question if it would be.

Had the meeting, nothing too major there.

Not much found today. I'm not really doing services that change much or have a lot of bugs to begin with. Sigh. But tomorrow I should finish up boot up and go back to copy, this time from the feeder.

Spent a bunch of time on the phone with people. The prison outreach to make sure their wireless being down was the frontier router (it was) and another person had a 192.168.0 IP but their printer was 192.168.1 somehow. So I had to do that, over 40 minutes most of which was trying to connect to her machine. Thirty years, people.

Did one mission in starcraft, so that's acceptable.

Supposed to have some nasty weather, but it hasn't come yet. Looking at the radar however is pretty scary.

Fixed a few bugs I'd found playing Matching Seasons in the bathroom every day.

Looked at the old Susan story, there's something I missed in editing.

And went to bed.

Wed:
And we're back to copy! Finished up the other two services and went on to, or should I say back to, copy from the glass. Got that all done. Now to start copy from the feeder.

Got a new build, had to take some time as my machine had been messed up from what senpai did yesterday, leaving me with no apps. Tried reloading it, which screwed up, and we had to do it from scratch mostly. But I got it back.

Got candy! Is it some custom in India to give others candy on your birthday? Not that I could find. Still, he's the new guy doing performance now, who replaced the other new guy doing performance then. Who knows. Anyway, he gave us all a candy bar.

Quick tip, don't stick it near the exhaust vent on your laptop. You get a somewhat melted candy bar at the end of it. I stuck it in the freezer while my food warmed up and it became colder. Success.

Battery guy said he would be in around 5:00 but it was closer to 6:00. And hey, he's from India too! What are the odds? Got his battery taken out and put in a box to go back. Haven't heard from the other person with battery issues.

After that did one level in starcraft and did my phone calls. One job for tomorrow- which reminds me. Doing my paperwork last time I only did 19 jobs last month. Huh.

Anyway, one job, and helped someone run mbam because he opened an attachment in one of those stupid "you have unpaid bill" whatever you often see. Stupid.

That took until a bit after 8:00. Think there's time for one more level.

Thurs:
Got to write up some new bugs today. Mainly things that got "fixed" and now have a new, worse, behavior.

Anyway, had a ton of bugs to verify and got though most of them. With that and the meeting today it went by pretty quick. And I have at least one more, if not two, that I plan to do in the morning.

Stopped very briefly at a Mac user's house, he had gotten one of those stupid really long messages in safari and didn't know what to do. I force quit it and was done. Time to go home.

Got the PC in, it survived the trip. Seem like it came from the same people I've ordered from before. How about that. Got it going, made one slight miscalculation, the DVI port in the back can't be turned into a VGA port, so either their monitor needs to be DVI or I'll need to add a video card to it. Sigh.

Also got the HD in for Bobby. Minus the firewire cable I want to use to plug the darn thing in with. Double Sigh.

Wrote the sender, we'll see what they do.

Going to be 60 by tuesday? That would be fine, just fine.

Heard from Sean, we're doing Stan's game. Got only one call today, York again and something about email. Call frontier then!

Got through two starcraft levels, my favorite unit has appeared, the ship that makes tiny ships!

So weekend- bank tomorrow, shopping and seeing my parents. Delivering the computer nearly at Sean's, then to Sean's. (That worked out really well) And then something Sunday, who knows.

The people I got the HD from are sending the cable, thank goodness.

And my fund is… well, still down, actually, but at least it's going back up slowly to where it started, a year ago.

That seems to be about it. Have a good weekend everyone, I'll see you back here next time.
