2014-04-10:

Morning one went fine, got the optical drive put in no problem.
Called a guy who had called at 10:30 last night, and the lady with the laptop keyboard problem. They weren't far from each other so I dropped off a keyboard for her to use and went to the other guy's place. Given the "urgency" of the call I figured it was something serious, but no. He just had some questions. Whatever.

Came home for lunch. Wrote a bit of the next chapter.

Then did more after seeing my parents. Got Frozen, but I want to watch that probably Saturday night, as it seems there's no game this week. Wanted to do more writing.

Got up to 46,627 words, half way though chapter 15. Not sure how to finish it up, but I'll figure something out. Then played some more Ni No Kuni.

Sat:
One job today, and I called a few people to give them some answers. Did a bit more writing, then went over to set up a new PC. That went fine.
Finished chapter 15, up to 48,715 words and played more PS3.
Once it got dark I watched Frozen.

Sun:
Enjoyed Frozen. No, I do not want to build a snowman, but I'll happily build a sandcastle with you on some warm beach somewhere.

Other things done: Video games. Yeah, powering through Ni No Kuni. Not much else to tell you.

Wait, there was one thing. I found and colored a picture I saw of Ether, my apologies to the artist for butchering your artwork. I should know better by now, but apparently I don't.

[[image file="2014-04/tumblr_mjxr6axjtf1rsgs1lo1_500.jpg" alt="The Original" align="inline" ]] [[image file="2014-04/colored.jpg" alt="My coloring job" align="inline" ]]

I did find a cool online comic from Korea (translated, duh) about a kid who gets RPG "powers" in real life. Interesting, and I wouldn't mind those powers at all.

Mon:
Two jobs today, one very, very, very annoying one and one that was just very, very annoying. Did the shopping in the morning as usual. Usually Aldi has cadbury cream eggs, but I don't see any this year.

After the shopping I did the lesser of the annoying jobs, a cleanout with good old "You must pay $300 or else" screens. That took some doing, because my linux flash drive booted to some weird "login" page I had never seen before. The DVD just didn't really do much after booting, and I had to reboot a couple of times with the XP live CD to actually find the darn thing and squash it.

But I finally managed it.

Came back here, did nothing productive, then went back out for the more annoying one.

Wanted an old desktop online wireless so I busted out a PCI card I had hanging about. Of course the linksys site claimed "no drivers or downloads" for the product. Huh? I found a driver, and installed it, that was from 2004 I believe it was. It would see the signal but not do anything to connect, just sit there and then time out.

I tried another driver, which BSOD the machine. Oh, XP, you tease.

Finally remembered that USB adapter I bought that the girl didn't need anymore because she was moving out anyway, and popped that in there. Done, it went in very smoothly and connected immediately. After an hour and a half.

Finished that up and came home.

Too aggravated to write, messed about instead, not doing anything productive.

Rainy.

Touched up the figure, made it look a little better. That mouth was just bothering me, it was worked on. It's still bothering me, actually. I matched the original line pretty well, I thought, but it really doesn't look anything like the original. I guess I just have no soul.

Got plenty of calls, but for some reason, as usual, didn't reach a lot of people back. So I only have two for tomorrow, in the afternoon.

Tues:
My 1:00 canceled, or rather said he would bring the machine here, so I got extra time.

Did more writing, got one chapter done. Up to 52,175 words. Creeping slowly closer!

The guy never did drop his machine off, sigh.

Did my afternoon one, two too noisy fans to change. I oiled them but it didn't help, those things are pretty badly made, actually. Sadly the two machines use the same card, and I only had one. I gave them a regular PCI video card temporarily. Otherwise just vacuumed them out, ran mbam, the usual.

Got a bunch of calls, and made all the calls from yesterday. And got a single job. Someone else called at night, so I have two places to go tomorrow. Woohoo.

Got the hiccups something fierce tonight, I haven't had them in… years. Sheesh, go away!

Wed:
They did finally go away! Thanks Obama.

I mean… uh….

Wednesday, right. Did the morning appointment, getting the machine set up for the psychotherapy place, that went fine. Oddly the monitor they bought had HDMI, which they had plugged into. It recognized that as a legit audio source. Sadly the monitor didn't have actual speakers. So I had to sell them some speakers.

Home for lunch, then out to set up a printer, not a new printer, but the older one from the older machine I had taken away a week or so ago.

So that went fine.

Then back here. Bunch of calls today, the first 16 minutes apart. Then the next three were 12 minutes apart, then the next two were 4 minutes apart. I'm going to start graphing it, because science.

However, for all the calls I got, not much actual appointment action. One for tomorrow, one for Friday and two for saturday.

Did more writing, write a line "Great, and here I thought our problems were over.” and thought, "What if his problems weren't over?"

This took the story in a slightly different direction, leaving them no time to plan or get supplies for the trip they were going to take anyway. I think it'll be a much stronger story, for that.

Only got 2/3 the way through chapter 17, but up to 58,135 words. Twenty thousand more to go and I'll be satisfied it's long enough. I doubt it'll go longer, but you never know!

Thurs:
Started the day with some writing.

Then went out at 10:40 to get to my 11:00, which went fine. Just a cleanout, a customer I've had for some time, though it's been some time since I saw him.

Back for lunch, then more writing. Finished chapter 17, 59,676 words. Then I did some breaking machines apart for the metal. And finding things to throw away, when my parents come to get the metal so my father can scrap it.

It was almost somewhat not frigid and nasty out! There was even some sun, how great is that?

I'll tell you: pretty great.

Windy now though.

Plenty to do tomorrow, several appointments, visiting my parents, and buying stuff for mini-burgers and fries for the Saturday game, which is Stan's supernatural game.

I'll probably write some more, but who can say? The night is yet young.

Hope everyone enjoyed their spring day, now it can go back to being cold and nasty again.

See you all next week.

This week's gibberish:

DVD just vacuumed the first 16 minutes apart for the monitor did dropped off a keyboard problems were 12 minutes apart. I'm going to change. I oiled that went fine.

Did a bit of time out.

It was one that?

I'll figure some warm beach a lot of times with they weren't far from yesterday.

Did more write a line pretty badly the same card, and installed it.

Came home for tomorrow, in the was some warm beach otherapy places to the older machines apart, there and colored a guy who had for the next week or some breaking me, it was from the older machine set up a printer, but I doubt it'll be satisfied it was almost somewhat not frigid and I'll tell you.
