Fri:
Very busy today.
Worked on D2.9, we got what is probably the last build of that to verify single sign on. Had one issue with a hang but couldn't reproduce it. Christina didn't have any issues so who knows, could have just been a fluke but I wrote it up anyway.
Then meeting with Kevin about bar codes. Stupid thing worked one way, he had me make some changes, then it stopped working at all, then I put it all away, he wanted me to do something else, so I put it all back together and it was then working the way we expected. What? Why is... What?
A short meeting that didn't go anywhere about smartcards. We're supposed to do a smartcard test for the single sign on thing but it has to be against the xerox network not our little private test network for reasons. But we can't make the card work that way. But then even if we did that "user" (that doesn't exist) doesn't yet have an account on office 365 so what does it matter? Honestly it's a wonder anything works around here. I was there just because Christina was leaving at 2:30 but it didn't go long enough for it to matter.
Then back to sso, finished that for another device.
Freezing out. Nasty.
Shopping. Gas.
Saw my parents, and poor Jenny. Not looking good for our little snuggle girl I'm afraid.
Back here, stuff away, sites, then game.
Went well, stayed on track and played until after midnight. Only got up to the fight, we were role playing!

Sat:
Work! Ugh. No snow though, that was a bonus.
Went well, first job they forgot I was coming I guess. Such a slow system. Cleaned them out. She said her desktop wasn't working but it came up for me fine. Maybe she just wasn't waiting long enough? Both had a lot of stuff they shouldn't, but I left before the desktop scan was completely done. How do you put up with such slow devices?
Back for lunch.
Down to see about the printer. Hooked up desktop, 2 phones, 2 chromebooks, iPad, work laptop, how many computers do you need?
   (yes I know I have all those things)
I'm not sure if they had an actual problem or they just didn't know what they were doing but all their devices now work so that's the important thing.
Then back past where I had been in the morning due to bad planning, got her tablet set up again that she hadn't used since 2016 as that's when her mail stopped. I should have called the second place and asked if I could switch it. Silly to go back and forth like that. Of course usually I don't go to three places in a day anymore.
Back just in time for game at 4:00. Went fine, we did what we could for William. As what we did didn't work the last time he may show up again, but that's Batman storytelling right there. Have to keep those villians alive so they can come back and make trouble again, everyone knows that.

Sun:
Answered game questions, wrote down some stuff about the characters for next time.
Checked the usual sites.
Lots of reading. Read the rest of book two and re-read book 3 I got for Christmas. XXX is a delight to read I can only hope my stuff is somewhat on par with it. Of course no one is reading my stuff but now that I think about it, his books are basically fanfic as well. Just of mythology not anything modern. Huh. Though I suppose most stories could be considered fanfic of something else.
Looking into materials for a sniper rifle. Forget it. They don't start dropping until Mars, but I have to clear Venus first so it'll be hours of play before I even get to the planet they randomly drop from. So I'll just not worry about it, my bow is still fine for now.
Finished the other Control DLC. I think they're planning an Alan Wake secqual.
Getting ready for tomorrow. Then did some warframe with the others. Sort of forgot Sean said he had inked the comic earlier and could do it, but I managed to get everything ready by the time he wanted to play.
I had called one person, who had emailed me. The guy from before with the missing HD. It went missing again, sigh. We're going to try a different drive for now. So I'm going over there to switch it. I mean it could be the cable or the port, but the smart money is on the drive. I could change all three at once but that wouldn't really prove anything. I suppose drives are cheep enough we could just replace all three and if that works just say that's it. But all I have around here are ancient drives so it's up to him if he wants one of those for free or to get a new one or what. No other calls over the weekend which is good.

Mon:
Snowing, and my parents took Jenny in for the last time. Not a great birthday for my father.
Set up a device for the voice system test, to see if replacing some files makes the keyboard work. (spoiler, it didn't.)
But then he figured it out, at least part of it, and we sent the instructions on what to do to the voice people.
Then reloaded the machine, and repurposed it for the smartcard test. No news on that front though.

So that was the morning, not much to do in the afternoon, no new software came in.

Went over to see guy and changed his drive. I left it restoring. Stupid windows, it was f:\ but now it's d:\ so none of his shortcuts work. I'll have to reassign the drive letter once it's done, I didn't want to disturb it when I was there.

Two calls, the lady who was giving up everything but didn't say why, and LCD lady who said it was still happening. See, that's why I don't want to replace LCDs. She said it only happens on facebook? What? That's crazy talk.

Checked sites, no videos today. Answered game questions, ate dinner.

Called people back. So she canceled spectrum, was going to get greenlight, (she said she was just going to give up the computer altogether) decided to change her mind, called them back, now she can't use her phone, we have no idea if the internet is back, and MS is I guess asking her for a code to get into her PC? Huh? And she can't type into the field to put in her cell phone number? Wha?

And the other lady, you know, that I've already replaced the LCD on? Says it's still happening, but where do I go from here? I mean I guess it could be the cable? But otherwise I just take a $300 laptop back and take a loss on it? I already make nothing on this job, so that's something to look forward to.

Did warframe with the crew.

Tues:
Singing the same song today, though we are getting closer to the login bug fix, I hope. Turns out it's three separate things causing the issue. He said he fixed one, didn't give a clear answer to the second if it was fixed or not just what library he found it in, and was working on the third.

Nothing came in, no new requests. Sigh.

Left to go to after work job and oh, look, it's terrible out here. Like, really terrible. Visibility was crap, roads were all messed up. I went home. I'm like, no, it's not worth it.

Did the driveway, snowblower is holding up great. Love it, actually.

Sites, videos, got ready for tomorrow so I could do warframe again tonight. Only one call, the lady saying what day she wants the laptop. She gets monday of next week. So there.

Wed:
What's this? Actual work, at work? Don wanted me to pretend I was in level 3 and set up equitrac on a system because apparently USDA is having problems with it. I can't imagine having problems with it, such a great piece of code from top to bottom. Struggled to set it up, I could get it working on another system just fine, but not on the model of machine he wanted. Figures. Turned out to be the proxy being turned on. Weird.

And we got a fix for the login issue, so maybe that code can be put in and we can finally put some D5.4 stuff to rest. That would be nice. I did a login test, worked fine. LDAP search worked, got my name right, got my home directory, the whole yards. Yards down the field! Am I right super bowl fans? Oh yeah! Go team! Boo opposing team! Who is even playing this year?

So that consumed the day. And looking for cards, and sending the jobs over and over once I got the system set up. Christina started on the patch work and maybe found a bug? Or a card that isn't working anyway, but maybe it shouldn't be? Not clear on that one.

Went over to see yippy puppy lady. Her machine was indeed stuck at some "we need to verify your identity" screen and somehow she had gotten some assistance thing turned on that's why her keyboard wasn't working. It would make a noise but not do anything. Maybe they needed to be held down longer but I just sort for kermit flailed around and figured that out. How was a normal person supposed to do it? Then trying to get her internet back... ugh. I had changed her DNS to google DNS so it wasn't redirecting to the setup page, and she owed a balance for the equipment but not really because she's using the equipment again (didn't she just call me about this last week? How did they want the modem back so fast?) So she had a weird balance due, but only $2.75 of it was overdue? Huh? The whole thing is stupid. We called, talked to the robot, paid the $2.75 (why can't we do that from the web form?) But it'll be 24 hours before it posts to the account so she's still locked out until then? So stupid.

Back here, checked sites. Dentist guy had his laptop stolen? The brand new one we just set up? So great. I get to set it up again! Does he have a backup? Did I turn one drive backup on? Huh. Guess we'll see. And he's not pressing charges against his house keeper. Wait, he has a house keeper? Must be nice.

Otherwise the same junk number called 4 times so no other calls. I'm calling dentist guy back tomorrow for looking into ordering him a new system. Again.

Oh, did the driveway, almost didn't make it out this morning.

Thurs:
Mostly meetings as usual for Thursday today, with an extra bonus meeting about plugin updates.
I am assured, however, that tomorrow (or monday!) will see the new software arriving so I can verify the single sign on remained good and verify the new modifying the smartcard list went in properly.
Helped track down cards, oh and I did some login timing tests, as Christina was seeing long times in her D5.3 patch testing.
Put more detail into the game for tomorrow, we're doing the first big fight but it shouldn't take that long based on how powerful these guys are.

No after work job today so I came home. Sunny! Won't be that way for much longer.

Checked sites, videos, same junk calls as yesterday. Called dentist guy back. He did not answer.
Made a background for the second stage of the combat tomorrow, if they go after this guy. I know them, they will.

Got ready for tomorrow. Will probably try to finish up the current warframe quest the others couldn't join me on.

Looking to the future, hopefully some work tomorrow. Get gas, shopping, get more cat treats I'm running out of them and amazon never has them. Petsmart should?
Then seeing my parents and coming home to run game. Oh, must go to the bank and take care of that CD.

No game Saturday so I'll have my parents over. No jobs at the current time either. However the 7th is my father's party and superbowl so I'll go see him over at my sister's house. Otherwise not much. Maybe planning what will happen next in the game, as I'm not sure right now what the next adventure would be. There's just so many to choose from!

I lied. Well, more like the situation has changed. Someone called, a person from some time back I was fairly confident I was close to solving their problem and they gave up so I'm going over there. Something about internet. Because of course it is. It's not far, it shouldn't take long.

Finished up the warframe mission. Honestly, not crazy about the game playing it alone. Maybe I just don't like the gun I'm using but the bow seemed a lot better and it was the starting weapon. Died several times and failed several times, but got through it. Could have played more but... didn't.
