2021-08-19:

Fri:
Most exciting thing today at work was helping Christina, she had a string wrong so she couldn't log in to the SSO stuff Don wanted from last week. That whole gibberish thing from before. We fixed the string, verified that yes, the thing we thought was in reality the real situation, and that was that.
Wrote 1.5 chapters, have to do something to keep busy.
And that was that.
Did the usual shopping, saw my parents.
Came home, no game this week, but there will be next week when we pick up with a new player, and track down the priest that went to the dark side and get the book he stole/has back.
But game on my own, finished coffee talk, oh look another story game that makes you play it over to see everything. NOPE.
And then started darkvoid. Not impressed as of yet. The controls are pretty bad and I have no idea why I'm doing the things I'm doing.
And then did warframe.

Sat:
Sites and videos in the morning first thing.
Financial stuff, checking the checkbook, figuring out if I should get some more mutual funds, that sort of thing.
Lunch
More xbox. Darkvoid - eh. Another of those "flight" sections which is really annoying me. Probably gonna nope it.
Then left. We finished the adventure! Yay! It was all a sort of dream and we can move on. We'll put our new characters into production in two weeks, not a whole month!

Sun:
Checked sites, watched videos.
Ate lunch.
Did paperwork. As far as I can tell, volting up the car cost me $9.00 last month. I tracked how many KwH I read off my little built in meter on the "charger" and looked at my bill for how much electricity cost that month. Math is important kids. That gave me a total. It tracks. Then I can take a portion of the $9.00 off my business. So maybe a dollar? Seems about right. Still, with that kind of cost I don't think net metering will be worth it.
Did some writing.
Did some reading.
Took a walk, yes haven't really taken one this year.  Usually I do more. Huh. Huge holly bush down the street, how many years has it been alive? Also saw a dead snake in the road. Poor snake, we don't have many around here that I know of. And to be hit on a road so infrequently used! Odd.
Went to feed Houdini, found him inside his water bottle. Yes, this towering intellect of a mouse squeezed past the neck of the empty water bottle I put there because the cage didn't have a cover for that section, and then couldn't figure out how to get back down again! I heard him running in the wheel last night (I think it was, maybe two nights ago?) so he wasn't stuck long. I just cut the bottom out, so he's safe. He ran back into his house, hope he's not too thirsty or hungry at this point. It's a few hours until dark when he would probably feel safe to come out.
Got ready for tomorrow. Made my calls, booked tomorrow and Tuesday. A printer setup and iPhone guy from before.
Played some Warframe.

Mon:
Some actual work done today. Had a meeting that demoed the new config report for the D5.6 release and they said it was in so I could test it. I did. Only found one bug, a missing line on the report, so I wrote that up.
Also looked into a situation for Joe if doing a machine reset took out plugins. It does. So we're not sure what that means as it's a special mode for the machine and it shouldn't happen. Sorta. Not sure, he didn't get back to me if it was bad or good.

Did some writing of course, now that I know I can carry my XP over I gave her better skill ratings, and changed some of the writing to reflect that. Now she didn't spend only a few months learning martial arts, it was a year. And she picks it up twice as fast because of her backgrounds so that's covered.

Went over to put the printer in. Mac, a very slow one because she only has 8GB of RAM and had like a billion chrome tabs open. Seesh. But the printer itself was easy to set up, so it went fine.

Came back here, checked sites, ate dinner.

Tues:
Nothing great to talk about at work today. We had the voice meeting but as they really don't have any bugs left directly, just device stuff they need to figure out, and Don wasn't there, it was pretty short. Nothing else new came in.
Ken did walk around a little doing more inventory stuff. Still. Sheesh. Worked on the book, of course.

Went to setup the stuff for the guy. Had to call Spectrum, but the activation went fine after that. The web form, as usual, didn't get me anywhere. He bought a $150 lenovo laptop running linux. Uh, okay? Found him a power cord for his TV. And he gave me a ton of food as before.

Came back, ate dinner, checked sites. One call, something about the keyboard? Another shining example of MS "very good the bestist coding" I had to uninstall and reinstall her keyboard device before it would work again. Crazy.

So nothing for tomorrow.
Got ready for tomorrow, and did some xbox.

Wed:
And that trend continues at work. Nothing new came in, and neither Don nor Chris of the "our side" voice team got back to me about anything fixed on our side and what they want to do about it. Patch? Make USDA take a newer release and fix it there? Who knows!? Not me, I don't know.
Did more writing, because that's what I do there, I guess. Up to chapter 12, 43,000 words about. Neat.
No after work job so I came home. Checked sites, videos. Did laundry, cooked up one of the sausage the guy gave me yesterday.
OH and I lost $400 in the market today so there's that.

Thurs:
Lots of work today, to my infinite chagrin. Turns out I did the "wrong" D5.6. I did D5.6 R21-10 which as everyone knows is totally different from just plain old D5.6. I mean what I am, stupid? So I spent most of the day doing all the testing I had done recently again, only on a slightly different build. It's not like one couldn't be in the other, right? But I am a professional, and it was the right thing to do.

Wrote one bug, the config reports are very different printed on A4 paper. A lot of stuff that shouldn't be on them is. Otherwise it was all fine.

Came back here, had supper, checked sites. No calls, so it should be a quiet weekend.

Looking towards the future I have my dentist appointment tomorrow. Getting rid of the corruption under a filling. As it's at 9:30 I'll go to work for an hour, leave, and the novocaine won't be worn off by lunch time. I'll probably bring soup. No seeing my parents, they're gone to a show somewhere. Good luck! Don't come back with more stuff than ya left with, unless it's cold hard cash.

I'll still do the shopping, and hten get home for game. Jon will be joining us, we'll see how that changes things. With the loss of spirit to "soul" no more energy drain attack, I guess I'll just have to rely on basic old electric touch. I suppose it's fine, we'll have one more person to take hits.

Then nothing planned for the weekend. Next weekend I'll see what labor day stuff I need to buy. Doing the driveway? But it's still a little early yet.

Oh, mouse was fine by the way, heard them running last night so no new escape shenanigans.

Guess that about does it. Summer is swiftly coming to an end, so if you're doing a summer thing, better get it in fast. See you all next week!
