2018-07-06:

Fri:
Finished it! Yes, the test cases are run. But Chris is doing some sort of FIPS test and wrote a bug against that. What? See, there were no spec for this project, not like the others I've done so really I have nothing to test against.

I suppose if there are problems down the road I can just point to the test cases, say "that's what I did, if you didn't look them over and say "what about X?" that's not my fault now is it?"

Anyway, from what I can tell everything passed, and the macro was super helpful.

Went shopping, naturally I had fed every kitty early in the morning, and then came home. No Gabe today, sadface.

Back here I cut the lawn as it's going to be quite warm the next few days. That berry bush I moved is still alive, and it's got some growth finally. Hang in there little guy.

Also set up the PC, having faster internet certainly makes that go a lot quicker, let me tell you.

Made some calls, I have three places to go tomorrow. My favorite book guy, a lady down the street with all sorts of issues, and the original one about the printer.

Feeding everyone, of course. So that's four places to go. Two in the morning and two in the afternoon.

Checked my sites, watched my daily videos.

Worked on more plot for the story, hopefully know what the rest of the days there will be like. Now I just need to start writing again.

Sat:
Got up and went over to feed everyone. Kept getting warmer every time I went outside, or so it felt like.

Stopped to get gas. The place doesn't have ethanol free anymore! Sheesh. I wouldn't even have noticed but the receipt didn't print so I went in and some guy wanted some but was told they didn't have it anymore. Sure enough, went out and they had covered up the place on the pump it said that, plus printed new stickers. Sigh. I guess I either start buying the cheaper gas or look for a new place. I think maybe there's one by Xerox actually…

Oh, by the way, isn't it illegal to sell fireworks in NY? I mean I ask because I see billboards for buying them in PA. There were tables of them in the gas station. Yeah, explosives near a gas pump, what could possibly go wrong?

Went to see printer guy. He didn't have cartridges in his printer. Yeah, not going to get very far that way, dude.

Back here I checked my sites. Ate lunch.

Got an NRA "survey" with lots of inflammatory questions. Like "should congress and the states eliminate so called 'gun free zones' that leave innocent citizens defenseless against terrorists and violent criminals" and ""Do you agree that law-abiding citizens should be forced to submit to mandatory gun registration or else forfeit their guns and their freedom?"

It's like they're insinuating that losing their guns somehow impacts their "freedom" like they're going to be chained in a basement or something. Here's an inflammatory question I didn't see on the survey:

"Do you support the need for every whack job in the world to have access to more powerful weapons of death than the forefathers of our country ever dreamed possible if even one of those weapons causes the death of an innocent person?"

Weird I didn't see that one. Or this one:

"Would you like to see a return to the 'good old days' of the wild west, where people settled the most minor of disagreements by standing out in the street and shooting each other, and laws were nearly nonexistent?"

A fair and balanced survey this is not.

Anyway, made a list of stuff to do tomorrow, got a bit of a start on it, and left again. The lady down the street didn't have the password for the machine she wanted set up, which was a hand me down from her daughter. Nor could she reach her. But I did straighten some things out.

Then over to book guy, and hey, guess what the bulk of the time was spend doing? That's right, THE BOOK. Thought we were done with that stupid thing, but no, no we are not. Also his DSL took about 2 minutes to upload the 1mb file to dropbox. Slow internet much?

By the time I got back it was 6:00, so I sat outside in the glorious heat for a bit, trying to soak it in and store it for winter, then ate dinner.

Watched some Dragon Ball Super, and got ready for tomorrow.

Sun:
Where I made a lot of things mine!

Oh no, wait, that's not right.

I did go to my parent's house and feed everypony. Gabe was waiting out on the bench, though he must have been waiting for Gado because he didn't want breakfast. Ah well, there was much petting.

Back here I started in on the list I had made. Repaired two shirts, once I got my sewing machine to cooperate. Must be feeling lonely.

Then did some straightening up. Balanced my checkbook and put in orders for two more mutual funds, something I haven't done in some time.

Wrapped Heather's gifts, did the paperwork for June (which is over, by the way. If you hadn't noticed. Just a heads up) and made more toast to take with me.

Watched more Dragon Ball, finished the monster list for Sean, and got ready for tomorrow.

Quite warm today. Despite the doors and windows being closed it's almost 90 in here. Sheesh. They're all open now, to let the cooler air in. Even this is a bit much for me.

My water is all rusty. Weird. Let it run for awhile too, rust still keeps coming. Sigh.

Mon:
Water is clear again, so that's good news.

In other good news, lab was warm again. What the? They have two settings, winter and middle of summer I guess.

In other, other good news the main lobby I use is open again, finally. I don't have to walk halfway around the building. Thank goodness. Not that it was that difficult you understand. It looks pretty good. But the best part? They finally got rid of that dead plant that's been there for three years. So long, dead plant.

We got real doors, not that funhouse twirly door anymore too. We don't have to badge out, which is odd because I'm pretty sure (based off comments a coworker said) they use that to track our working hours to a rough degree. Now we just hit a button and are let out. Weird. Not that I would abuse this system, you understand, but at least I don't have to count out every minute now.

What we didn't get was a repaired bathroom fan. That thing is still as noisy as ever. Why couldn't they have replaced that thing while they were at it? Very odd.

Went back to tablet stuff, wrote the 4 of 4 bugs for today. Not sure what other card stuff to do at the current time.

A more unscrupulous fellow might have finished chapter 16 durning the afternoon, but I did no such thing.

Got invited to Sean's for the Forth, and he wanted the salad made again so I had a second chance to use the gift card. Went home, got it, then back out. Got the stuff for round two, and came back again.

Then picked a few berries, (very few) enjoyed the rain and sunshine combo that happened, checked sites, made a phone call. Nothing for tomorrow.

Tues:
And not much work stuff to talk about. Wrote a few tablet bugs, some little stuff like buttons not highlighting.

A lesser man might have given in to temptation and written chapter 17 but I stayed strong.

I did have donut holes and brownies though, so there was that.

Came back here, there was a notice on the door from the town of webster. "Property Maintenance." What the heck does that mean? I have to call some number to find out. They were closed when I called today. Le sigh. My property hasn't changed in years, and I cut the grass all the time. What could they be on about now? They don't get after my neighbor for never cutting their grass so it's anybody's guess at this point. I'll call them Thursday I guess.

Checked my sites, watched videos.

Wed:
Happy 4th…
Oh wait it's already too late by the time you read this.

Anyway, not much accomplished but it was a good day. Watched more Dragon Ball, made the salad for later, and then went over to Sean's.

Saw both couples, and Alyssa's wedding is right around the corner.
We did some board games, Alyssa has a high LUCk apparently.
Who knew?

Then came back here, finished up with a few more episodes and went to bed. Tomorrow I'll get a few things done. Like calling the stupid town about this notice.

Thurs:
As promised, got a bunch of things done and right in the morning too.
Got invited to the wedding yesterday so I picked out a gift. (It also worked out for Heather too, so there! I want one myself, honestly.)
Cleaned up the kitchen.
Picked berries, at least as many as I could. The hot sun drove me (yes me) back inside so I'll get them tonight.
Called the town, apparently he was just over yelling at my wonderful neighbors to cut their lawn and saw mine was "getting a little long." Uh, no it really isn't. I cut it all the time. But whatever. It wasn't trees that needed to come down or them wanting to dig the yard up so that's a relief.
And called "just energy" to cancel with them. Did you get the story about how they signed me up? Many years ago just calling me out of the blue, "go get your bill" "give me this number and that number" "okay fine" and suddenly I was signed up. Had no idea what was going on, I thought it was RG&E calling me about something. But no! I am finally free of them. It's a stupid idea anyway. How can a third party company be cheaper than the company already providing the product? It doesn't make sense.

Watched more Dragon Ball.
Straightened out the kitchen.
Played some arcade games.
Picked the rest of the berries, there will be lots more but not as many as last year with the good bushes destroyed. (not that I'm still bitter about it)
And saw book guy, who wanted more pages added! And had moved it to another folder somehow.

And got ready for tomorrow. Rained on and off today, still quite warm. More of the same for tomorrow.

And looking to the rest of the week, going back to work for one day tomorrow, though most people will be gone. Sorry, most non-external people will be gone. Not sure what I'll do, but I bet you can guess.

No Sean by the looks this weekend, but I did just see him. Maybe I'll have my parents over for another movie?

Have to see dentist guy in the morning Saturday, I'm sure there will be the usual mile lone list of crap to do. Probably one or two more jobs, I didn't reach someone today. Had four calls, sheesh.

And we're sprinting into July. The year is more than half over.

Enjoy the second half everyone, see you all next time.
