Went to change my oil tonight, a task I now dread, and found that, thanks to the dealer changing the oil last time "because it was low" the oil filter was once again WRENCHED on there, leaving it almost impossible to remove. You're just supposed to give it a gentle tighten there folks, not weld it on. I had to smack it with a hammer until it finally loosened. And then of course, oil goes all down my hand because someone very stupid at Subaru decided it should be vertical rather then horizontal.
I hate this person.
It occurred to me that, next time I change my oil, I shall buy some throw away plastic gloves, the kind one washes dishes with or whatever, and that shall protect me from the major oil spillage.
Shopping was fine, though I did have to go back to the car place because "Oh, I'll just get the oil stuff at k-mart" and then they didn't have the filter I needed.
Home just in time to go to the dentist. Oh, great, another filling is coming off and needs to be redone? Total dental expenditure: $347. Sheesh. So I'm going back there next week to have that done.
Then went and picked up the laptop. Came back home.
Started work on a one page website for a guy. Then went out to my one paying job for the day, which I hooked back up (why they unplugged it is beyond me) and it ran fine and they were all like, oh really? So I just cleaned it out as normal and that was that.
Came home, a little bit more work on the site. Also got a system dropped off suddenly so I started on that. Got a couple of calls, it figures, last week, nothing to do, but rained all the time so I couldn't do outdoor stuff at Grandma's. This week, sunny and nice, but I get just enough calls that going over there isn't feasible. Story of my life. Three for tomorrow, what I consider a "full day".
Got the desktop machine done, I think. It was grinding away like windows does, slowing the machine to a crawl, but no program showed high CPU usage so I didn't know what was going on. I looked, her pathetic 40GB hard drive is nearly full, so I chucked what I could off it, and the grinding stopped. I'll turn it back on tomorrow and see where it stands.
Seems my iMac has developed a weird video glitch quite spontaneously. Woke it up last night and there's this one inch vertical stripe of garbage pixels running from the top to the bottom of the screen on the right side. I restarted it, put it back to sleep, didn't go away. Very, very weird. Good thing I just use that for making calls and getting maps and stuff. *sigh*
