2022-02-10:

Fri:
Lots of snow. Had to work for about an hour to clear the driveway.

Mostly worked on the tutoral. I had no idea what I was really making it was just "do this and that" and I hadn't seen any thumbnail as to what we were building towards.
I turned it onto a sort of very high security network closet.

Couldn't you see this in some kind of starship? I put in some details he didn't, I couldn't make it exactly the same now could I?

Stayed late an hour at work. Did the shopping, parking lot was awful.
Saw my parents, hey the trial is over. And there will be another because our justice system is eh. The police found some unlicenced guns in the house. Fine. Take the guns away and let that be the end of it. We don't need months of work done at great expense trying to prove things (what things exactly? Who knows!) one way or the other. Remove the offending items. What more, really, needs to be done? My mother was there after all, so I made them wait unnessisarily. I mean if I had known I would have texted I was staying an hour late to work.
Got back, checked sites and such then tried to do a streaming movie with the others. Didn't work out, it was just too choppy. Wi-fi? I wonder. Nope, it was "hardware acceleration" of all things. Weird. He turned it off and the quality improved. Hey discord, I don't think you know what "hardware acceleration" means.

Sat:
Did many things:
Cleaned out the driveway again. Lost the belt twice, maybe I need a new one? It does seem a little loose to me, but what do I know. At least I got it mostly done, I took a shovel to the very end of the driveway.
Called the guy, went out to deliver the monitor.
Cleaning, as my parents are coming over for a movie.
Lunch.
My window is leaking, so I got the water out of there and the ice. Rigged up a ramp so the water drips into a bucket instead of a towel like I was using, or just into the frame which is no good.
Worked on the ice outside the window, getting the snow off the roof with my little rake. It's really deep out there.
Checked sites, ate lunch.
Finished and wrapped the Valentine's day gift.
Then more The Expanse of course.
My parents came over.
Then some Back 4 blood, some missteps but not all my fault, we're closing in on the end but there's still a few stages to go.

Sun:
Mostly just finishing season 5 of the expanse. One more season to go, and it's a short one. I guess it just became too expensive to produce. Odd, a show should become less expensive with time because you've already got all the 3D models and sets already built. Doesn't make sense to me.
I did order a belt though for my snow blower as I had some trouble with it staying on the last time. The snow was heavy but my father suggested replacement.
Got ready for tomorrow, another great week begins it seems.
Not many calls, I have a job for Tuesday this week, and Lenovo guy is ordering a dell now. Seems he's having the same problem with the replacement system as he did with the original. Neat. Great quality control there, Lenovo. So I'll be heading back there pretty soon, always love doing the same work three times. Ugh, and it took forever to copy his stuff not looking forward to doing it again.

Mon:
People are back at work I guess, the parking lot was pretty full. Can't they just, not?
Anyway, looked over and made some suggestions for the test plan for upcoming release on login for versalink. It's a bit different from what I already did on the other products (and will continue to test as we should get the feature on 7.6 this week) Other than that, finished up the tutorial. Here's the official final render of the tutorial

And here's how mine turned out. I wanted more of a spaceship feel, with curved corridors like the Andremeda. I think I failed quite well.

I realize it's thinner, I didn't make my initial cube as big as he did, but still. Even following a tutorial I can't seem to make something of the same quality. Why is that, do you think? I did everything exactly as he did, only changing the details at the end like putting the trim on and making the things on the side "doors" not that you can tell. I choose different colors, does that matter that much? Back to the pup I guess.

No after work job so I came home. Finished the expanse. Unsatisfying. They set up so much in the end that didn't matter. A huge ship, the entities in the ring, and it didn't go anywhere. If they knew this would be the last season (and maybe they didn't) why include all that? Guess I'll have to get the books to find out what actually happened in that universe.

Made my calls, booked Wednesday, so that's almost the whole week at this point, as I have a printer and tuneup tomorrow.

Tues:
The developer had some trouble installing the D7.6 build, after he did the machine just didn't respond anymore. Whoops. I reloaded it, it was fine, then I installed my clone file. It went back to not responding. Uh, could be a problem? Did a data wipe hoping it was faster and set it up manually. Of course it's India so I started the test.
There are some problems, the secure jobs just don't show up. I see them on the web interface, but logging in they are not there. Huh. Well, we'll see what he says tomorrow I guess.

Worked on the pup. Got it "done?" Here's the pup alone

And here's the pup patrolling the streets at night.

It's a bit odd the best thing about this picture is the hydrant I made in 2 minutes. But as I've said before I have no idea how to make the model look better. Here's what I was working with.

So I don't know what other detail to add, I added it all. I do like the face I did though. But it's not even close to some of the robot dog models I found online.

Went to see the guy near work. Rebooted the printer and it was fine. Checked his machine out. Huh, a warning that his drive is dying. I started a backup for him.

Got back, a few calls to make tonight. The lady I didn't reach yesterday and someone claiming their mail icon is gone. The one wants tutoring, let's hope that goes well it's happening Thursday. And I got the other lady's mail icon back. Go me.

Then some Back 4 Blood with the others. We did not make it through, died several times on the last stage.

Wed:
Did some work at the very end of the day. There was a now D7.6 build to fix the issue of the jobs not showing up. But it was going to take 3 hours according to the guy. Well, it took four instead. So I only had an hour to load it and check it out. Seems okay now.

Also got told the D4.0 bug relating to the cards is fixed, so I'll check that out tomorrow.

Meanwhile I worked on this piano.

Not too bad, I guess. I mean yes, the texturing would have to be more carefully applied, but I'm not concerned with that. It was done from just one cube! Except the keys, of course. I didn't really plan it that way but that's how it ended up. I think it came out okay.

Went to see printer guy. Stupid printer, has no control panel just some lights on the front. It seemed to turn off all the time? It was stupid.

Got back, one call, doorbell guy so I'll go there before my 5:00 tomorrow, and hope it doesn't take long. It didn't before.

Checked sites, ate dinner, the usual. Finished up the piano, I wasn't sure how to texture it so I wanted to watch the video.

Then some Agents of SHIELD, finally getting around to watching the last season of that.

Thurs:
Meeting day. I did the final tests I needed to on the D7.6 build, it was fine. So we did the demo, no problems there. Posted the test cases, the usual cleanup. Had the other meeting, loaded the daily D4.0 build and checked every card in the place. Logging on multiple times, didn't see any odd stuff like I did before, so I marked that bug as verified.

Also worked on this lamp.

I thought it would be easier than it was, but it's actually a fairly complex object.
You may well wonder where all this weird stuff is coming from. Some screenshots I took from our last play of back 4 blood, I was finding objects to model. I have a phone and a riding lawn mower to do. Let's see, a garbage can, and a portable air tank. So look forward to them.

Went to see doorbell guy, they sent him two units exactly the same as the units he had. How is that going to help? It's the software that doesn't allow two people to get notifications at the same time. But I set it up!

Then out to a lady down past grandma's old house. She needed some things straightened out before the tutorials began, so I figured out her MS accounts, gmail accounts, passwords, set her printer up, started a onedrive backup, and answered some questions. I'm going back on the 20th for word and how to attach things to an email. Fun stuff. It's a sunday. That means I'll work both sat and sun that week. Sweet.

Got back at 7:00. No calls! Yay! Ate dinner, checked sites.

I'll probably do more shield tonight. I have so much stuff to watch...

Looking to the future tomorrow I'll check another bug out that is supposedly fixed. Not sure what else.
See my parents, go to the bank, get litter, regular shopping, so I'll be to my parent's a bit later than usual. Then back here for the miracle game. What were we doing in that game? Oh yeah, the forest! Gotta beat up some spiggans or something.

Then Saturday is the monster game, two months later. Something about... huh. Oh yeah talking to the guy we saved who didn't even know he was being targeted. Then ???

Sunday is paperwork, making pie, watching more stuff. Don't forget Hearts and Hooves day is coming up on Monday.

So that's about it. See you all back here next week. Hope your team wins in the big game, but remember, someone has to lose, too.
