2023-04-27:
Fri:
Not busy today very much. I did have a meeting about hold jobs, the
stuff we said the customer wouldn't be happy about? They're not
happy about it. Strange how that works.
Otherwise I wrote another chapter. I've got 11 chapters written, not
bad, not bad.
And worked out a few details for the first pony adventure. If it
ever happens. I needed to know what sort of challenges to give the
players, as they expect that sort of thing, and I found just the
thing. Two things. There will be challenges, a role play section,
more challenges, a combat, and more role playing. Perfect! Now if I
can just do that for every episode we'll have a game.
Saw my parents, did the shopping, saw them again at the restaurant.
Quite good, very large. Almost too large. But it was good, did I
mention that already?
Back here just in time as Sean changed the time from 6:30 to 7:00
and then back again. Did a few things like feeding the kitties and
then game.
We investigated the hospital, scared off our new clubmates (sigh,
now our club will be banned again) banished a few spirits, got Taro
an enchanted sword he'll be better able to utilize than I will once
he gets a bit of training, and got sucked into a mirror. All in a
day's work. I did wonder why Sean gave me the sword skill. It's not
like I can just walk around with one, so that along with the
"archery" skill were useless. So maybe he meant for me to take it.
Nope! I was like, hey 14 year old boy, you get a bonus for using old
stuff, you take it and have to worry about carrying it around and
getting caught by the cops. Who are everywhere in Japan, by the way.
Not my problem. I made my own talisman that can more effectively
hurt things so I'm all set. Oh and using "sword" instead of "martial
arts" would about double my delay, no thank you. I put "archery" in
quotes there because it's that weird, huge bow thing that's taller
than a person that Japan likes to use? So it's not really archery
it's more about pageantry and a meditative exorcise than an attack
skill. I mean in tournaments you get points for twirling the bow in
the right way, I mean, come on, a real archer has already killed you
by the time you get your shot lined up. I have plans to re-purpose
all that XP into more useful skills as the game goes on.
Did a bit of Xbox as well, just at the end when I figured it was too
late.
Sat:
Went to lowes to get more cleanser. Could have gone instead of
waiting yesterday at the restaurant but hindsight and all that. I
didn't know when they would arrive, but that's fine. It only used
1.44 KW of power. There was something else I should have picked up
while I was there, but I forgot now what it was. Sigh.
Cleaned the basement floor again, part of the main floor, uh, floor,
and the upstairs floor. They are starting to look a bit cleaner.
Checked sites.
Got a bit further in Legacy, mapping out the Library as that's where
we're headed next.
Mostly read a new story I encountered. Stupid everything, so much of
it to do and so little time to do it in! It's from years ago and
it's very long. Good though. Lots of min/maxing and trying to
optimize his build.
Sun:
More reading of the story. Checked sites. More reading. Sheesh, it
just keeps going.
Got ready for tomorrow. Made some calls. One guy not too far (and I
was just there) says he's unable to use the printer, it's probably
just not on his wi-fi again. One lady who tried what she said didn't
work, and it did. Uh huh. And one lady talking about the internet I
didn't reach, but said "maybe call your ISP? You know, the people
you're already paying to make your internet work?" Why do they
always call me? If your service is down there's nothing I can do
about it.
Did more Xbox, got all my stuff leveled up and qualified for the
level 18 test. Put my new weapons on to level them up. I'll have to
take the test later.
Mon:
Got a nice haul! Just when I was starting to despair too. But no!
Got plenty for this week, so salad oddly. I put it all the freezer,
apart from the sandwich I'm going to have today. I'm not sure how
long it was there for, probably over the weekend, but it should be
fine if I freeze it and then eat it right up. It always has been,
they're all sealed packages after all.
Did the server check, got them all updated.
Then wrote two chapters. Of course I cheated, I had them already
written in my head while doing other things. You can do that, you
know. Then when you sit down, you can just let the letters spill
onto the page. We got through the library but it actually took two
chapters, not one. Funny how that happens.
Otherwise, not much. Went to second work, straightened out a few
things for him. Nothing big.
Came back, had dinner, checked sites, and kept reading. Ugh, this
story just keeps going, but at least I'm away from the "3 years ago"
comments into the... "2 years ago" comments. Sigh. Ha, talking about
Covid. Remember that? Yeah, I don't either.
Shoot, need to see what's next in Legacy so I can do more writing
tomorrow. I'm going to go pretty "off script" for the next chapter,
Sebastian isn't happy Aerith broke up his little club after all. But
I don't think that'll take up the whole chapter.
Tues:
The usual meetings today, they're still going on about cloning in
the first meeting, there's a huge table they're working with. And
they still don't have it right.
The other meeting was just Joe's status meeting, nothing really new
there.
Otherwise writing. Got a chapter and a half done, just like I
wanted. I need more content from the game if I'm to continue.
No job, so I came back here. Oh, no I didn't. I got more haul. Yeah,
after yesterday. Strangest thing. I checked in the morning, got a
bunch of stuff, then checked again in the afternoon, and got more.
Mostly salad which I gave to my parents. But still, I'll have a cup
of soup and some crackers tomorrow, then some un-frozen stuff the
rest of the week, brought a few things home, and froze the rest.
Done.
Checked sites, ate dinner. More story, getting ready for tomorrow.
Don't know if we'll do Xbox, we haven't the last few weeks on
Tuesday.
We did! I did a bit of Legacy before that, but it's all side quests.
And some dumb ones at that. Natty wants to talk to me, but it's only
an excuse to get me out of the castle. So that I can see other side
quests. But one side quest leads to the pages I need. Didn't get to
finish that one. Hummm. No writing tomorrow?
Wed:
Wrong! I did do writing. I decided how I wanted to solve the problem
of having that weird quest leading me to find the pages, as it's
pretty forced in the game. Wrote that up.
Our meeting with the people in India to get the cards working seems
to be moved to May for some reason. Odd. So we didn't have that.
Otherwise, pretty boring. Soup was pretty good.
Came back here, humm, have to go to be early, tomorrow is feed
everybody day. Checked sites. Had a few calls, a half hour to set up
dropbox, why did he get rid of the remote client? Gurr. A few other
minor things, but no job tomorrow.
Got further in Legacy. Though as I'm doing things differently, I'm
not sure I'm even up to where I'll need to be. I'll have the book
when I get into the map chamber, and Fig isn't gone he'll be with
me. So that whole delay won't happen. Oh well. I want to visit Anne
over the weekend so I can write that. The only class between then
and now is broomstick flying. Not much to write about that.
Got ready for bed.
Thurs:
Got up early to feed everykitty. And don't forget birds and buns!
Went to work, wrote the next chapter. Had the onedrive meeting,
they're not ready yet so nothing there, and the status meeting. No
status. No news on the arm drivers, d7.7 stuff is pushed out to late
next month, d7.8 stuff isn't ready that I know of. Pretty boring
there.
Came back here, had dinner.
One call, looks like I'm working Sunday. Sigh. Should be fairly
minor stuff though.
Played some Legacy. Didn't make many notes because I was taking
screenshots, in my wisdom. Sorry, it's WINDOWS key and print screen,
not shift and print screen. No screenshots. Sigh. Found a video of
the section I did, downloading it now.
Looking ahead, more feeding tomorrow morning. Probably just working
on the story tomorrow. Then shopping, going to the bank, then back
here for game. Saturday and Sunday I'll feed everyone of course. I
want to plant some seeds, wash the upstairs floor again, dad gave me
a movie to watch, there's reading to do. More Legacy to make notes
on. That sort of thing. If I get that far. I need to do the Anne
stuff, and argue with some paintings.
