Nothing new at work.
Finished the layout of the pony book as it exists so far. Glad I started early, that was a few days of work.

did the shopping, saw my parents.

Came back here. Checked sites.

Then did game. Got though the episode, and give them a good cliffhanger for next time. Whoops, forgot to give them their level. What a dummy. I think I'll do a level a session so they'll be level 10 at the end of the big fight. And then never give them another level again! Muhahahahahaha.

3 episodes remain.

Stayed on track, they got good rolls so nothing blew up, and the teleport gateway is officially up and running.

Now to make everything go sideways.


Sat:
Well, I understand why humans invented paint rollers now. Remember that 6 hour estimate I gave last time? With the roller, doing the edges with the brush but the rest of it with the roller only took about an hour. Not 6. Neat. Looks so much better now. Now I just need better lighting down there to appreciate it. Before, the bad lighting hid the fact it looked awful. Now it hides the fact it looks great! So that's no good.

Wrapped Sean's gift. His birthday isn't until the 15th but who knows when I'll go back there? (Probably two weeks if we stay on schedule but who knows)

Paperwork. $300 whole dollar pounds made last month. On my way to making half what I can legally put in my IRA for the year. And mostly thanks to people just sending me money after I talk to them on the phone. Yeah.

Almost lunch time. Checked sites. Ate lunch.

Worked on the magical character sheets for season 2.

Sean's at 6:00 PM. Yummy dinner by Mizzy. The others made characters (and chatted) I made sure my previous elf character I played once followed the current rules, tweaked them a bit, and that was that. Ben seems nice enough.

Sun:
Did the daily reading.
That took most of the morning.
Watched a movie, haven't done that in awhile.
Then another chapter of Alan Wake finally. Only 2 more to go. Bad writing in this chapter. Yeah, the thing I do when I'm being pursued by supernatural creatures of darkness that want to kill me is get really, really drunk in someone else's house, a house I just broke into, mind. For sure. And then drinking somehow brings back my memories of the lost week I had writing a novel for a supernatural lady who tricked me into thinking my wife wasn't dead, and then I didn't leave that place to get help... for some... reason? And how did that FBI agent actually find me? At the very end of the chapter he just shows up. Because Alan wrote that he showed up? So without evidence of any kind he just randomly travels to some farmhouse and finds the guy he's looking for and doesn't question it at all? Yeah, not a great game.

Got ready for tomorrow. Put some more plants in dirt.

Worked on the magic sheets. Coming along nicely. But it's going to be a lot of pages to keep track of things. Is that okay?

Mon:
Delivered prints to the imaging guy that I made last week. Good thing I still had them, Kevin wanted the color table tested, the one I tested for development last week. Ha ha, I had already done it, Kevin.

Elsewise I did a task for Joe, trying the yubikey thing on versalink. Whoops, it didn't work. What a shock, that it would work differently between the two platforms.

Finished a chapter and a half of the story, no more content. I can work on the next episode and maybe think about combining magic and combat skills for the dungeons.

Any haul tomorrow? Case seems empty.

Went out to yahoo guy. It didn't want to work the proper way. Did it the app password way on both. That was easiest. It should have worked but didn't seem to be OAuth when it logged in on Mac? It wouldn't go "active." Oh well, it works this way too.

Came back here, checked sites. Two visitors to the back, deer I mean.

Worked on the dungeon. I think I figured out how to smoosh both of them in there, stay together, and work together. Because I'm a great DM. Ask anyone. Or maybe the 2 people I've DMed for. Actually don't ask them, I don't want to know.

Tues:
Few work things. Two meetings. Some new thing we're doing related to usernames and yucky Ysoft. They're complaining they can't be more than 32 characters. Okay, so, use less than 32 characters. Why spend all this money making us "fix" this when the fix is "use less than 32 characters." It's not the name that's affected, just the "username" which can be anything. It's dumb. Anyway, it's going out to them early as a 1-off release based on some upcoming stuff so really I'm sure it'll be fine. But they want test cases and we don't have specs yet! Soooooo....

Christina and I both looked into it. We're not sure if what we're doing is right. We have to borrow a Ysoft server. The whole thing is dumb.

The usual Joe meeting.

Onedrive got canceled.

Worked on the next 3 episodes, or should I say final 3 episodes. We'll have to see what they do but at least I'm somewhat prepared. I think.

Got a good haul, but had to do a second job so I'll have to drop stuff off tomorrow.

Went to second job. Laptop that's very slow. Agreed to let me take it.

Strangely the copy took only 18 minutes? Huh. His RAM is busted. I took out his 4gb stick and his machine still said he had 4gb. I guess it's soldered on. I gave him a 4gb and it worked, he has 8 now. Weird. Machine seems better, still not great of course. It's a win8 era PC laptop...

Checked sites, ate dinner.

Wed:
Work wise I finally made a new lab map in the morning. Only took 4 years. Sheesh. Maybe it'll be easier now that I'm using scribus rather than trying to do it in GIMP.

Had a short demo of Ysoft but we're still not sure what the customer is doing. What wasn't working yesterday is working today, so that clearly isn't the thing we're supposed to be looking at. Huh.

Started up writing Breaking the System again. Only got part of a chapter done. I was reading what came before to try and remember. Realized a single spell could change the whole course of the notes for the rest of the book. Oops. They would do that spell... sooooooooo yeah. Not sure how it's going to go.

Brought my parents the haul, and saw their kitties.

Went to buy supplies for Mizzy's gift. Didn't get the exact thing I wanted but hopefully a close enough analog it'll still work out fine?

Came home. Checked sites, had dinner.

Worked on Mizzy's gift, to see if it was even possible. Didn't want to wait until I had them all made to know I should make them smaller or whatnot.

Then made a second one, as the first one wasn't right. This one was much better. Now I just need to make various models.

Thurs:
Busy today. I even saw our CEO, right up close! He used the zipline. I know, context.

Had the afternoon meeting in the morning. Meanwhile, while Don droned on about whatever I was working on test cases as it was just sooooo important to get them the 4 test cases that comprise "type these commands into a terminal window for this test" because I guess development just couldn't handle coming up with this themselves.

Then I loaded the D4.0 machine because Joe said "we're not getting a pre-release so just take a daily build." Uh huh. Did the card test for all the cards, and loaded a second machine to verify the card list was identical. It is! So I didn't test on that machine. Pointless.

Instead I did an hour and a half onedrive test, and yes I got an error at the 70 minute mark. Who knew. But it gave an error, and the client insists they scan and lose jobs. I didn't lose any jobs. The error was clear, "the token has expired." Now I wish it told me that at the beginning, it didn't, but I did see it. Totally different from what the client experiences. Karen is grasping at such straws she hopes they're the same anyway. Uh huh. Good luck with that. Apparently they always could refresh the token, but for some reason were not? Because they've "improved the code in this area" meaning it always should have been that way, perchance?

Then went to our outdoor festival thingy. We had a Ferris wheel this year, and a zipline. Are we... adults? Very strange. We also had too loud music, the same food as last year, and very cold and cloudy weather. Like, hold this a month ago, why don't you? Why do I have to sit and freeze? So silly. Thankfully Christina and I did not stick around. It was during this I "met" our CEO. We didn't go to the "town hall" he held earlier.

Back at base I watered the plants and went to return the laptop to the guy.

That done I came home.

Checked sites, had dinner, got one call. I think she's having issues with her trackpad. Hard to say, as usual. She's not far, I'll stop down with a mouse tomorrow and see it for myself.

And we can talk the future.

Work wise not sure tomorrow. I got the stuff on my list done today. Go me!

Shopping, seeing my parents, then running game. The murder "mystery" episode.

Have my parents over Saturday. Otherwise just work on Mizzy's gift, maybe some writing. Sunday I'll want to do another chapter of Alan Wake, so I only have 1 chapter left to do. The usual readings.

Worked on the book. Figured I would keep up on the formatting. Nearly time for bed. I know some people's Octobers have been pretty stormy, hope yours is working out for you. See you next week.
