2024-09-05:
Fri:
Bit of a rework on the final episodes of the pony game. I should
"timeskip" a bit more and let Origami play with the magical stuff I
give her. Let them figure out who the final boss is rather and just
telling them.
When I wrote it of course I didn't know if anyone would even use the
magic system, it's not great. But he did, so given what they'll find
in episode 7 it wouldn't be fair to not let him play with it..
Nothing written down yet, just thoughts.
Uh, otherwise a pretty boring day. Not much happened.
Did the shopping, saw my parents.
Came back here and finished up the first remnant story. Until much
too late. Now I guess there is some "cleanup" missions and hard mode
stuff to do. Weird that we'll do hard mode stuff in this game, but
Sean refuses to do Steel Path in Warframe...
Sat:
Washed the deck, it was raining a little but that was fine. I'll
have to blow it off with the blower once it dries.
Picked some grapes.
Did inventory management and finished up Bunny's mission.
Checked sites.
Did some cleaning.
Checking up on finance stuff, as it's the end of the month (as we
know it).
Then some more Alan Wake. I didn't finish the chapter.
Ordered batteries for my car remote thing, found a pack of two that
should serve just fine.
Got a good start on the Sunday readings.
Parents came for movie. They got to see the kitties, who were
actually both out, sort of.
Sun:
Did the readings for today.
Then got the kitties ready to go. A bit too early, he said he was
ready to come but then didn't for quite a while. I figured they
would know the kids and him and be out, but they acted like these
strangers had never been seen. I had to go get Micky from the
playground. Thankfully he wasn't trying to hide, though something
did happen he pulled a lot of the plastic down! Put it all back up
after they left. Bye kitties, maybe I'll see you again next year?
Watched some Highlander while sanding. The piece didn't get any less
cloudy, sadly. Sigh. Well, we'll sand up the other one and see which
one is better. Though they came from the same place, I can't see
them being different.
Ate lunch.
Finished the sanding. Sadly it didn't seem to help much. Looking
into it there's a spray you can use to make it shine again? Huh. How
does that work? I went down to like 5000 grit sandpaper (how do you
even tell if it's there or not? It's smooth like paper to start
with) but maybe it fills in smaller holes I can't even see. And that
changes the angle of incidence for the piece? Science- how does it
work? I guess we'll try it, only $9.99 on Glamzon. Cross your
fingers. Still have many episodes left.
But at least I feel better about crossing something mostly off the
list. No ideas for Mizzy though. Yet.
Did the paperwork. All 2 invoices I had last month. Let's make it 0
again for this month!
Watched all but 1/2 the last episode of Highlander.
Got ready for tomorrow.
Did xbox with the others.
Mon:
And the labor day activities are done for another year.
We did the trimming of the berry bushes and others.
Dad did the deck and cut a small tree, plus other trees, and washed
the dirty parts of the house off.
I got some grapes but still plenty more I'll have to watch them and
pick them as we go along.
Mom did the carpet.
I moved the stove, should have done so much earlier. It was gross
back there. But confusing. No hole for a mouse to come up in. Where
are they coming from? Cleaned up that disaster and put the stove
back. Now that I know I can move it myself I may do so more. Moving
all my mugs that sit on top of it is annoying, I haven't put them
back yet. I'm going to wash them. Maybe I can find a new place for
them? Wonder if I could get some sort of rack nailed up on the wall
by the stove so they can just hang there? The pegs would have to be
pretty long.
We looked under the front door. There's a whole lot of space there.
Way more than I figuered there would be. Why is that? We used wood
and the foam stuff I got rather than concrete because it would have
taken bags and bags of it. Hope that helps, but we'll see.
After lunch and the work being done I put things away.
Put some stuff in the larger cracks in the driveway. Squirted more
foam places, as it's basically a single use can.
Checked sites, had dinner.
Watched the rest of the episode.
Got ready for tomorrow.
Did Xbox with the others.
Tues:
Good news, the cat dad says the displaced kitties have taken to
their old home and are fine. Good news all around. Also told me
stories about fishing. Does anyone really want to hear a story about
fishing? Asking for a friend.
Had to do actual work today. Joe wanted a D8.5 test where new cards
had been "added" they're all basically the same card I don't know
why there are different "versions" but whatever. D8.5 doesn't exist?
I asked the group why, turns out it's actually D8.1 so I used that
instead. It was fine. I tested 7 cards, they all worked.
Otherwise did a rewrite of the last few pony episodes. So much
happier with the direction now, and I think (hope) the others will
be too!
Went to good will, got a few things including a jar of treasures.
We'll see if anything becomes of it. Also got a project, a small
one, but I needed another project. (sarcasm)
Then back here, checked sites, had dinner.
One call. She just had to drag Thunderbird out of the trash.
Wow, can we get any more basic?
Then xbox with the others.
Wed:
Mostly editing the rewrites, and writing the last episode. Hope it
works out the way I intend. But so far so good, right?
With 6 more episodes to go, I expect about 12 weeks of content at
the pace we move at. Hope that leaves me enough time.
Otherwise, not much else at work. No haul, stuff from the 3rd is
still in there. Gina wants Christina to do all of GovPrint again but
now on like 4 models. Neat!
The OneDrive meetings got canceled. Oh, and the model office guy is
having yet another problem I've never seen, so I forwarded that onto
the team. Sigh. Well, I did see it once, but only when using weird
characters in the file name. Huh, wonder if his path has
weird characters in it? I didn't think of that!
Can I redo the entire basement ceiling in metal? Oh, it would be
about $1,000. Probably not worth it.
I latched onto this looking into Mizzy's gift, which I have decided
on. Metal sheets figured into it, so I was looking into prices.
Came back here, did a kitty walk.
Sprayed my resin with the spray stuff I got. Shoot, I left it
outside and it's getting dark, have to go get it. BRB.
Okay, I'm back. I cleaned the cat boxes too. I think the spray stuff
is going to work! Sadly it highlighted just how many bubbles are in
the thing. Sigh. Going to try a different technique tomorrow, see if
I can prevent that.
That's almost it for tonight. Gonna get ready for bed and move on to
Thurs.
Did a little Shante.
Thurs:
With nothing new to write I started another proofread of the pony
story. As it will run almost into December I'll need it to be
ret-2-go for reasons. Good thing I did, I found more mistakes! Boo!
No onedrive meeting, but the normal meeting. Joe says D4.0 is ready
for the SIPRnet test as well. Neato. Guess I'll do that tomorrow.
But I can close out his version of the task (I put in my own) and
the D8.0 stuff for IdP as it's out the door in ten days. No final
release? Uh, okay, whatever you say. Wonder if they fixed any of
those bugs I found? Have to look.
Got a decent haul, half on one anyway. The second location was
cleaned out, but I didn't find the bag in the dumpster either.
Weird.
No other work stuff, I think. Came home, poured half the resin this
time, to try and get the bubbles out. Maybe it worked better, but
maybe 1/4 would be even better. We'll have to see. This is a small
one, I can try it a few times and see. Maybe just a very thin layer
to start is best? I thought I was doing pretty good but after an
hour there still seems to be some bubbles at the bottom. Which
becomes the top. Sigh.
Getting ready for tomorrow and such.
Finished up the proofread. Found a few more things. Ready for the
next chapter to be written and to do work at work tomorrow.
I'll do the D4.0 stuff, more reading, go to the bank, the shopping,
see my parents. Run episode 7 in the pony game. Put the map into
Roll20 so I should be ready for it. No combat or anything, it's just
a visual aid.
Nothing planned for the weekend. Having my parents over, the usual
reading, we'll see how it goes.
Well, about time for bed so I'll see you all next week.
