Fri:
Not much happening today. Read the entire Breaking the System from
the start, found more errors. I just don't know about trying to
"work it in" around other stuff. It's frustrating. Not that I
"should" be doing it at "work" anyway, to be fair.
Otherwise, yeah, nothing much has come in. One more OneDrive meeting
at the end of the day. We're still planning on sending someone out
there.
Did the shopping, saw my parents.
Ran game. Did not even get to the next episode. Doing the combat
with Prince, the cleanup, and talking to the princesses took the
whole time until 11:00. Of course Sean is once again completely
against how I want the plot to go. Even though I purposefully
changed the plot to accommodate his character's objections to the
way the plot was originally written. Joke's on him. Until the vote
happens, the villain of the series isn't even in the picture. They
can comb the entire planet and not find one trace of him. He wants
the vote. He's not going to act until he feels threatened, and a
vote or even the crystal being made or not made concerns him not at
all. So the plot proceeds for now!
Sat:
Got done basically everything.
Cut the front lawn after putting those berry bush ends in some dirt.
Grapes are coming in. Even picked a couple to get them away from any
birds or whatnot. Have to watch them carefully. There aren't a lot
in the back where they usually are, but this year the ones on the
side made up for it. Should get plenty!
Cleaned up the upstairs, still needs some work. This is for a
special pair of visitors I'll tell you about when the time is right.
Finished up Amphibia. Clearly not going to use the "ending" about
fighting the moon and whatnot. Mine will end just after the king is
defeated, and the girls go home.
Made ice cream.
Then went to Sean's for game. Didn't get out of the dungeon the
combats took the whole time, but at least we somehow stayed on track
the whole time. Shouldn't be too hard to catch up on in the story,
combats are sort of glossed over now. And I was in the dark part of
the time anyway. So that'll help.
Got two xbox games and a host of movies from him. So much for any
free time I guess?
Sun:
Did my Sunday reading.
Ate lunch.
Played some Alan Wake. Not really my kind of game. It's like a
combat puzzle horror game? The flashlight mechanic is just so slow
and cumbersome. Finished episode 1 of it. Don't think I found
everything but that's okay. Don't need to.
Then watched Highlander. The first movie makes at least some sense.
Made two calls. No answer for the first lady (who just needs to say
"yes" to the thunderbird update and the other lady realized she
plugged her printer in wrong after clearing a jam. Easy. Second lady
called me back. 20 minutes of my life wasted because she doesn't
know how to close a tab. Hey, it's been 40 years, maybe learn how to
use a computer a little bit?
Watched the second Highlander movie. Or at least most of it. This
movie makes a lot less sense. How did the guy get from Japan to New
York still dressed in his 1500s clothes? He has no money, no
identity. Did he swim? How does the guy know how to drive? I guess
he could have stolen the car but how does he pay for gas? How does
he even know what "gas" is? How did "there can be only one" work
when there were clearly at least 3 more? If the wizard guy knew he
was going to die at the hands of the 3, why not just let Highlander
(or rather insist) kill him to avoid letting the guy get his magic?
Or kill himself? He set up the whole cave exploding so he could have
set something like that up. I could go on.
But I shall not.
Did xbox. Got all the parts for the character we were going after.
Huh, they already had them? That's fine, playing without me is fine.
I mean they did get me the parts. Seems inefficient though. I was
basically wasting their time at that point. I don't want to do that!
Mon:
Ah, the joys of yet another onedrive meeting. With different people
this time! It's all setup Azure stuff so of course it was just me
sitting there being useless for the first part.
But I did need to step in after the azure stuff was done. I guess he
"inherited" this and the other person did not know what they were
doing? Or something? Or screwed it up on purpose? He's got stuff all
over the place, some of it in C drive and some of it on F drive. His
ports were messed up. I don't know that he had the right stuff
installed. We finally got the admin panel itself to open, but it
won't log in. Some message about... some.. cross site scripting
thing... nothing I had ever heard of. I looked it up at the
time, there are code solutions to it. Great, just great.
He had a meeting so I emailed the support line with a screenshot of
the problem. We'll see what he says, he didn't get back to me.
Because of course he didn't.
Otherwise wrote up the chapter and a bit of the combat. So I don't
have to worry about that for two weeks.
Came back here, checked sites. Videos.
One call, frontier issue, it was already solved.
Watched a bit of Highlander TV and then did Xbox.
Tues:
The usual meetings today. Joe meeting, no surprises there. The
onedrive meeting really didn't happen, the customer never showed.
Otherwise I just did writing. Got two chapters done and that's all I
needed to do. Oh if I had done "all" of their dialog it would be 4
chapters I'm sure. There's just so much I can remember of what they
talk about. I make a general note "they talked about the future" or
something like that but there's only so much room in the buffer. And
there's always something in the buffer.
Huge haul. Gave 90% to my parents, I already have enough wraps for
this week, and some stuff for next. I need to start using the
freezer stuff! Aarg! Brought home more breakfast stuff and one
sandwich that looked interesting that I ate this very eve.
Talked to Don about my bug. And he wants help with some port 9100
stuff or something, but that will happen later.
Christina hasn't gotten admin access for her new laptop yet. So much
for it happening quickly. There's no reason it can't, by the way.
Came home, no calls. Ate dinner, checked sites.
Went through my descendant inventory before we did game.
Then did game. Used my new kitty companion. Great to see 3 kitty
clones running around.
Wed:
Ugh, work. Mostly bizarre PJL stuff no one in their right mind would
do, like using it to put files on the device? It's a security risk,
and everything that I found (because of course Don has just dumped
it in my lap) was trying to make sure your device was not vulnerable
to such things. Don even knows this, as he says if they even
implemented this bad idea in our devices it would have to be behind
some kind of switch they can turn on, basically as a "we understand
the bad thing we are about to do" sort of thing.
Neat.
Anyway, got nowhere on it because I have no idea about PJL commands
or even if the machine is supposed to react in some way to them. Don
says it should, but what does he know?
Also more helping the onedrive guy. We got the config more sorted
out, so the password is at least accepted now. Whoops, he doesn't
know the actual password it's been changed to, and the password
reset code gives an error that it's not correct. Sigh. So it's still
not done. Neat.
That consumed a lot of the day. I made two spells for the pony game
though, and wrote the "letter" from Celestia to Origami updating her
on the whole "check the printers" plan.
Back here I checked sites, had dinner. Had a kitty walk. Found a
mushroom in my basement? It's just growing happily by the wall. It's
fine. I'm sure it's fine. It's not glowing I don't know what you're
talking about.
Got ready for tomorrow. Looked over adventure 5, seems good, don't
know what else I can prepare?
Looked at episode 6. Humm, is that what I want to do? I need one
more "gather crystal" adventure. Hummmmmmmmm
Got a call. Boo! Just down the street from work. Complaining about
being slow. Probably a spinning rust drive.
Tried to clean the cat cushion upstairs. Maybe a little too far
gone. Well, I did my best, it can be flipped over.
More highlander TV.
Thurs:
Wrote up some new dialog I thought of for the next episode. What
better way to lay in bed when you should be asleep? Write dialog for
your TTRPG I mean why not do that? Right in your head. Do it.
Basically revealing more secrets of the crystal, now that Twilight
has "researched" it more and gotten the whole story from Sunny.
Worked a little on Episode 6 as well.
Had the usual meetings.
Worked more with the onedrive model office guy. We may just be
blowing it away and redoing it.
Worked with Don on his color thing, and a little more of the PJL
stuff but not even Scott has got it working. He does on HP I guess?
So that's a... help.
Oh, we got our device with the scanner thing fixed as well. Had to
take the whole board out, I don't know what exactly he had to do
because he took it. Stole my fax module too, had to ask for it back.
But at least we'll be able to upgrade that machine again.
Yup, pretty busy today.
Stopped at the guy's house. Didn't really see that much wrong with
his PC, but took out some old epson stuff, cleaned up his downloads
folder, ran mbam, the usual.
Came back here, checked sites, had dinner.
Looking ahead probably some work stuff tomorrow, looking for a haul
too it's the right date for it.
Then shopping, seeing my parents. Running game.
Then Saturday we've switched things so we're doing Emberhaven again
this week. I know, two weeks in a row is unheard of in this day and
age. We used to do that all the time. Not anymore. But we
are now. So I'll do that.
Wash the upstairs floor again, see about more grapes. More work on
the xmas gifts maybe. Lots of reading and writing to do after two
games in a row once again this week. Should be an eventful weekend.
See you all back here next week.
