2024-08-08:

Fri:
Spent the morning working with Christina to discover that the reason my certs did not work was the line endings. Windows line endings don't work when using EIP on VersaLink. Apparently, them working is a bug and against spec in Altalink but because it was done that way at the start, we're not changing it. So that's why they worked there.

Wow.

Changed the bug to reflect that, we'll see what they say about it. So dumb. Like, line endings? Really?

Not much else happened. Worked a little on the next adventure.

Went to the store, they finally had the good fake sugar again. The bank, saw my parents.

Home for game. Whoops, Neil lost power? Hummmm. I guess he does have batteries from his solar system but his internet was down but we made it work somehow. Strangely, even though I thought it would be way too short, we didn't get through it. Just up to the boss fight. That's okay. We stayed on track for the most part, though Neil had some technical issues like power loss at home.

Resin hardened great! The complete shape looks really good.

Sat:
Cleaned up a bit.
Checked sites.
Did another pour, I still have half a bottle left can I make one more set? Would be pretty close.
Did some warframe. Bird 3 is selling a red stone, which I must have. Took me an hour and a half to find the right amount of dodads in the stage to trade to a dude for enough favor to buy the shiny stone. But... I can't actually give him the dodads for another 3 hours because why not make the game work like that? The stone is on sale for another day so it'll be fine.
Pour is hardening nicely.
Sanded the first set. Piece three is still a bit cloudy. I think my higher grit sandpaper is worn out. I'll start with a high number and some fresh pieces. On the whole they look okay, but there are still a lot of bubbles. They aren't thick pieces, it's odd.
Watched some anime while I did that.
Parents came for movie.
Then did xbox. Got the blueprint we were going for, then went over to First Remnant.

Sun:
Did the usual readings for the morning.
Checked sites.
Dad popped up on facebook how did he know how to do that? I don't know how to do that. Wait did I ever want to know how to do that? Scared me. Like what is this popping up so suddenly. But it was just him.
Then finished up the previous season of My Hero Academia. Been thinking about Amphiba and the crossover I want to do. Importing some of their technology into Equestria via the game. I need to watch some episodes of that to refresh my memory. Skip around them, I wouldn't need to watch them from beginning to end but making some notes? Perhaps.
Watched a bunch of Amphibia. Thanks for making the episodes only 10 minutes long I guess? Got to the factory episode which is where my notes will start.
Got ready for tomorrow.
Did xbox, did not get the thing we were going for in First Remy. Oh Mizzy did, but as we all get different stuff??? Sean and I did not. It's like I pick up something off the ground and it's a quarter, but someone else comes by and pickes up the same thing but it's a penny. Video game logic, friends.

Mon:
Worked on the adventures, both finishing up the current one with some more poems about their questions, and the next one. I won't try to add anything more to it. We'll be finishing this one and starting the next (maybe?) this week so it doesn't have to be long.
Then finished the next chapter of the story and started the next.
Helped the developer guy with a device. Seemingly very slow and it's acting different when you put the card in from the older software. I can't explain it.

Didn't get anything written in the afternoon. People kept coming to me to do stuff. Test these cards. Make these prints. Take care of my cats. Swipe this card. Set up this device. Ugh!

Minor haul, but not much got put back.

Went home. Checked sites, ate dinner. Was supposed to rain today, but I didn't see it.

One call, some zoom thing (people still use that?) it's not updating I guess. We worked through it. Yay!

Then warframe and some First Descendant. Didn't get any parts we needed.

Tues:
Lots of little stuff today. Helped the developer guy by updating my .net card, which I hadn't done because the newer machines don't support it.

Helped Christina with her new laptop.

Got an okay haul, took that over to my parent's house.

Delivered printouts for some toner saver because we're losing money on some account. Like half a million a year? Uh, just raise their price? How did it even get this bad in the first place?

Had meetings, still waiting for logs from the onedrive people. Their other machine is behaving, as expected, but they still say they are losing jobs. Can't help you there, pals.

Wrote more chapters. Almost got up to the end point. So close!

Back here, checked sites. Videos. Ate dinner.

No calls, but more warframe. We did get some parts we were after. We did not (or I specifically did not) get any parts we were after in first descendant. Huh, that seems to be a trend! Fix your drop rates! Now here's the fun part. Both Mizzy and Sean got some of the parts. I was the only one that got no parts. Because of the aforementioned "everybody gets different stuff" mechanic. Sweet!

Wed:
Not much work stuff to talk about today. Our CEO and such had another "I talk at you" corporate thing where he admitted 1.9 billion in revenue was just so bad! In a dying industry that's too over-saturated with competition. Whoops! Maybe we should have become Apple in the 80s instead of giving all our crap away? Anyway... Almost 2 billion dollars doesn't seem that bad to me even with the red arrows in the powerpoint slide but I'm not a CEO so what do I know?

Finished the pony story up to the point we stopped, and proofread it. Worked on the game a little too, just going over what I want my tiny puppets to do and say.

Back here, the usual. Picked up my warframe stuff that was done, got the orican cells I needed, checked sites, ate dinner.

No calls.

Got pictures ready for the game. Then more amphibia. The more I think about it, the more I believe doing the crossover "after crisis" is a good idea. I can't work them into it, I was going to have the cosmic character appear and tell them to leave it alone, but that feels wrong. Better to have the land in need of help at the time.

Thurs:
Not much accomplished today. Had the usual two meetings.

Did reading the last 5 chapters or so of Breaking the System. I'd like to finish it at some point. I need to figure out where I was and such. I don't know. I'll have plenty to work on after this weekend, as I'll have two separate game books to work on. Trying to add this third one, I don't think it'll work.

Got more haul stuff, so there will be more stuff to bring my parents. Built the battlemap for the game. I think we'll get there, the next adventure should be fairly straightforward (I've thought this before) and we're basically at the end of the road for the current episode.

Came back here, checked sites. Got ready for tomorrow. One call, nothing serious.

So looking ahead, not sure what I'll do at work tomorrow. Final checks for the game, maybe a chapter of the other book. We'll see.

Then shopping, seeing my parents. Home for game.

Then the emberhaven game on Saturday. Otherwise finishing up Amphibia, working on xmas gifts. Cut the front lawn. Oh make more ice cream, use up that cream I got. Clean up the upstairs, it's really starting to need it. And put some berry bush stalks in dirt right by the garage door. There's some great rooting potential there, like 4-5 stalks I can make 4-5 plants out of!

This time next week August will be half over. Neat! See you then.
