Fri:
Very quiet in the building. Only two cars out there when I left.

Spent part of the morning doing the OneDrive stuff. Whatever they did, didn't help. What a shock. So it's something else that's keeping the interface from working. The client is basically going to drop us unless we can get it working in like a week. Karen is going on about "daily feedback" but we're wayyyyy past that. We need to have them on a call, with me, and they send me builds and look at logs until we figure out what's wrong. In like a day. Because we still need to "security scan" and "license" or whatever we do. We need to get this done yesterday.

Otherwise not much else to do. Worked on spells. Got a very nice haul though. And the next date is tuesday.

Watered the plants. Had a onedrive meeting, not that there was anything for me to say. Weird how a bunch of people I've never heard of are suddenly involved in this. Why are there so many people? Where did they come from? Do we need all these people? Maybe this is part of the problem, that there are too many people between the person doing the work (that would be me)and the customer. But who am I to say? Still weird to see all these new names all of a sudden.

Did the shopping, saw my parents. Came home, checked sites, got ready for game.

This took much longer than I anticipated. But we stayed on track so that's what counts right? Lots of discussion about making the crystal, I may actually change the direction of the story a little bit.

Sat:
Picked some berries while it was still cool out.
Did the cleaning.
Checked sites.
Reading. Yes, still not done with the second read through. But we're not reading the whole thing. No. I know when I'm stopping I just have to get there. I should stop now, I'm not getting any more out of it for the modular magic system I'm building. But I can't. You know that. I know that.
Parents came for movie.
Then the first descendant with the others. It's not a terrible game. Interface could use some work maybe? Watching videos about it I guess the mission types are very repetitive? And the grind is even worse than Warframe? 3% chance to get some things? Yikes.

Sun:
Checked sites, did reading.
Reorganized pony story outline to move a few things around. Changed a bit of the story as well, to match the new concerns so I think it'll land pretty well!
Worked on understanding the new game. I think I do a little better now. Things were not where I expected them to be, and I wasn't even "seeing" the health and shield bars. That's, uh, not good design. When one video pointed them out I was like, oh, there they are. Huh.
Watched videos and played a bit.
Did more reading.
Got ready for tomorrow. Password guy called before the 4th, I sort of forgot about him but he still needs me. So I'll go over there tomorrow. Why can't he just leave his passwords alone? And if he can change them, why can't he write them down? They're not changing on their own. Either leave them alone, or write them down when you change them. You can clearly put in the old password to put in a new password, so what's the difficulty here? Thankfully he's just down the street.

Wanted to work on the story/next adventure but this pesky work stuff kept getting in  the way.

All the versalink printers I had done the plugin testing on were down. Very odd. Rebooted them all, and took the plugins off. That can't be a bug, right? Nah.

Got my new laptop, so started messing with that and moving stuff over to it. 16gb of RAM so I don't need to buy more, but only 256gb of storage. Sigh. Guess I'm getting an external drive, as I can't do my "little trick" again there's no second slot on this one.

And miracle of miracles, the onedrive people actually wanted to see the device live and try stuff. They sent a debug build that crashed the device so hard EIP wouldn't come back after a reboot. Wha? But on versalink... it didn't have any problems. So they sent the build with the name change... and it was totally fine. They're a bit stumped as to what's going on.

So I only did a tiny bit of work on the adventure. Oh well, it is work.

The new laptop is meh. It's 10 cores, don't get me wrong, but they're all 1.6ghz. My "dinky" M1 processor has 8 at twice that speed. So it'll probably be pretty laggy. Neat. The fans were running just downloading stuff from onedrive. Oh intel... you suck. And that's from 4 years ago------ FOUR YEARS AGO? Sheesh. I guess we are on M4 coming up sooooo....

Got the drive from Staples, and finally got rid of that one monitor. Yuck.

Then over to password guy. Where was the list of passwords I printed? The only password list he should have. Not two different books with some bizarre old passwords in them. Of course not even that password worked. Neat. But the machine helped me out and I was able to change it. Hurra.

Back here I checked sites, had dinner.

2 calls, and the vet. B12 levels good? So much for that.

One call about email, a real stumper. Hosted by GoDaddy or something with Office 365 the account exists but he's not getting any mail. I sent him something, it didn't bounce. I have no clue. I did find their support number though, maybe they'll get somewhere.

Second lady just got disconnected from her wi-fi and thankfully it was still working so I just told her how to connect to it again. No big.

Then xbox.

What's this? More working today as well? What are they paying me or something?

Did more new laptop stuff.

Got 3 more builds from the onedrive people to test. Sent them a report. They say that yes, it's the xerox library. Well, it's not that surprising.

Got a nice haul, brought that to my parent's house. Rained as we were moving a fake grandfather clock. You put books in it. Or whatever you want on shelves hidden in a clock, I guess.

Worked a little on the next adventure.

That's the important stuff I think.

Came back here, checked sites. Ate dinner. No calls.

Oh,there's a call. Neat. I think his batteries are just dead. He's charging them, and I hope it's the case because he's a half hour away in Hilton.

Did xbox.

Oh, they're raising the price of xbox live again? Neat. Didn't they just do that? Yeah, maybe. How is the cost of running some servers in a room getting so expensive anyway? Maybe they should look to that instead of price gouging us.

Anyway, ran the new laptop as the main machine today, so I could fill in the form and get the admin access I need to install the programs I need to do my job. No response to that, by the way. So thanks. Anyway, hate it. The fans run almost continuously. Love fan noise. 10/10. Would recommend.

Anyway, had the other laptop open because I can't even install chrome, where all my favorites are. Oh I could manually copy some addresses between the two I guess. What a crock.

More OneDrive stuff. A build when I got in, then like 6 more during our next meeting. No code change, just the way they build the app has some weird effect on the end product. Neat-o. So it's our fault? Something about java though, maybe not? Anyway how many days do we have left? At least we got a working build for now.

Wrote the next 1.8 chapters of the story. In word, but whatever. Going fine.

Stayed late doing that, as dentist tomorrow.

Much rain, even got a tornado warning for a few minutes. Phone started blaring a weird noise, that freaked me out. Maybe ramp up the volume rather than waking me- I mean scaring me like that! I wasn't sleeping.

Came back here, checked sites. Called keyboard guy, who still seems to think his internet connection had something to do with it. No dude, it's the batteries. You charged them. Remember? For your keyboard? That wasn't working? Whatever. I don't have to go over there, I don't care what you believe fixed it.

Wrote the rest of the chapter I didn't finish at work. Checked in with my first descendant character, got the gun the game gave me. I like it.

Bedtime.

Thurs:
Another pretty good working day. Still no news on my admin access, so that's fun.

Went to the dentist in the morning. That shortened the day a bit. X-rays. No more apron? Interesting.

In no particular order had a meeting with Gina about VersaLinks as she's taking stuff over from Joe, who is leaving at some point in the future.

Had the usual oneDrive and Status meetings. Should have a "final" build of the oneDrive stuff tomorrow, so we may actually make it.

Worked on the pony story, I'm up to the part the game ended at. Had I remembered more of Sean's arguments I'm sure it would have been longer.

Okay maybe there wasn't so much work as I thought.

Then came back here. Checked sites, had dinner.

Worked on the pony adventure. Finding maps and such. Though there is no game tomorrow, I wanted to sort of pretend their was and not be lazy just to make sure I could have run it, had we done game. Got a lot of it done! Maybe all? Most?
