Fri:
Almost got the chapter done in the morning, but just didn't have
enough time.
Left for the picnic, got there first actually. I didn't panic, I
recognized the place from last time, so I knew I wasn't in the wrong
place. And I was proven correct just minutes later.
Had some food, then wandered off to find Adnan who demonstrated his
impressive fishing technique by catching the cutest and tiniest fish
in the water. Poor little fish. Hope he's okay, after having that
hook in his mouth. And suffocating for 15 seconds, I'm sure he was
looking forward to that in his day. Also got to hear about how thick
his fishing line was, how lazy he was for not changing it, how the
bait was bad (he took a bunch of corn out of the salad) and possibly
more I'm not recalling at the moment. And you willingly do this
activity?
There was a container far below me in the water, something that got
knocked off the dock we were looking at probably. Tried to get a
long stick and get it out of there. I made it worse, not only did I
not get the container my pen fell in there. Sigh.
I'm a terrible person. Sorry Earth-chan, I tried, I really did.
Helped with cleanup, we left about 3:00. It was hot, no one wanted
to do lawn games. But then, does anyone really want to do lawn
games?
Stopped at home for ice as I had been given the leftover food, did
the shopping, went to the bank, then brought stuff to my parents. We
had picnic leftovers.
Then back for the rest of episode 1. Got through it, so it's on to
episode 2.
Sat:
Went to see laptop guy. Yes, his machine won't run Win11. Barely
runs win10. It has an SSD, why is it so freaking slow? Took his
desktop apart. Some old Win7 system originally. Didn't want any of
it. Thanks, but no thanks. Got a call from the vet's office while
there, Oliver now goes in at 9:50 on Tuesday. Maybe x-rays as well?
Hang in there little guy. He will eat Churu, if I sort of follow him
around once he loses interest. Maybe a treat or two? But that's it.
Cut the front lawn while it was still somewhat cool out.
Checked sites, had lunch.
Then did the weeding. Some berries are getting red!
Finished one Emberhaven chapter before leaving. There's still more
to write, I got up to the point my curse was gone. Now we need to do
the lamp oil business. Well, there's always tomorrow.
At Sean's we had some yummy orange ice cream like stuff, pizza,
played a weird game about wavelengths, and then the dragon
equivalent to wingspan. I didn't get last, but I didn't win either.
Oh well. Alyx didn't come, they were dealing with a
not-feeling-good-doggo. Hope your doggo is feeling better, Alyx!
Sun:
Did the morning readings.
Berries are getting ripe! They must have ripened in the last 25
hours. There's not a lot, but they are out there.
Windy day. Very windy in fact. My berries will blow away at this
rate.
Finished up writing what I have for Emberhaven. We're right at the
point where we confront the cultists stealing the lamp oil. I'll be
ready for the... [checks notes] we're not doing it until the 20th?
That's a whole month away!
Still, with both stories up to date the only thing I'll have to
worry about at work tomorrow is, well, work stuff, if any, and
coming up with some plot for this week's game. So I feel I'm in
pretty good shape.
Wait, no, I just realized I'm not in good shape. I still have to
write up what happened in the first episode of the pony game. Shoot.
Oh well.
Got ready for tomorrow.
One call, someone that, at 10:10 this morning deleted their
downloads folder out of dropbox. Completely. Like, not in the trash,
it was just gone. How? But that's when dropbox said it happened, I
showed him. This was the guy I just went to see yesterday. So
thankfully we had the backup from the other device. I guess dropbox
doesn't keep backups for free users like it does for paid ones.
Whoops. Otherwise he would have been out of luck. How did he even do
this?
Mon:
Still pretty windy, and it won't be in the 90s again this week.
Worked on the shelves so I could put the picnic stuff in the
cabinet. Got that done so it's all safely stored. I am now the
picnic stuff master I guess.
No work, D8.0 thing is still a no-go so I just did a lot of writing.
I now have 2 chapters of the pony story and am caught up on
Emberhaven. I also worked out the next pony adventure. I think. Good
amount of running around, some challenges, should be okay.
Good news on the oliver front. Found a worrying amount of
poop on the living room floor in the morning. When I got home he ate
5 greenies, 4 chicken corks, a churu. The most I've seen him eat at
one time in a long time. Maybe that is all it was. Despite him
getting his medicine every day without fail. Maybe I'll increase to
2ml? I mean I give him fiber treats for goodness sake.
Still the vet called, doing an x-ray Friday. So it'll be get up at
6:00, get him in the crate at 7:00, go over to feed everybody at my
parent's house, with him in the bathroom for an hour, then x-ray at
8:10. It can work.
Did xbox with the others. Got all the parts we needed for the new
warframe and her weapons!
Tues:
Went into work, had the morning meeting.
Left at 9:30 to get Oliver. Took him in for his blood work.
Then back to work. Did some proofreading.
Another OneDrive meeting, but they won't be there for 2 weeks. Wrote
up two bugs. One I noticed they were experiencing, and the other
issue they already know about on Versa just on Alta. I was pretty
sure fixing it in one place would fix it in the other. But sure,
write it up so they know I guess.
Got different food for Oliver. And more Churu. He's lost another
pound. See if I can get him eating stuff.
Checked sites, had dinner. No calls. Brief rain on the way home.
Xbox with the others. Tomorrow I will have had the bolt for 3 years.
No major service either. Nice!
Xbox with the others. Got some things, just waiting for them all to
build, now.
Wed:
Tried to do the rest of the D8.0 tests, but discovered I couldn't. I
can log in with the stupid MS app thing but the tests I still need
to do are all card related! Whoops!
Did more proofreading. Some thinking about Friday's game. Oh, got a
huge haul, 2 boxes worth! I'll have salad for a bit as my parents
are gone, but I'll bring them a bunch of stuff probably tomorrow.
Made a schedule for the next 4 days. It's going to be a bit
complicated.
Not much else, no meetings today.
Back here, checked sites, did more reading.
Going to be early.
Thurs:
Had the usual meetings today. Then Joe sprang a nasty on me. He
wants me to do a full test (and then some honestly) on that new
plugin I got. Neat. Every family of Versalink? Primelink too? All
the old cards? Just exactly how little do we trust this thing written
by the people that made the cards? And he admitted they
already did their own testing too. Sigh.
So that'll be started tomorrow. So fun. Gonna be so fun.
Worked on the building block magic document a bit, put in some
sample spells.
Went this morning to feed everybody. Even got to pet Penny for a
bit, but not Jingles. Saw outdoor kitty, did the usual stuff over
there. Taking the tree down that cracked will be $3,000!!!
Nothing much else exciting. Got a few pictures and a map ready for
tomorrow's game.
Brought some food over to the house, and came home.
Checked sites. No calls again, thank you.
Did a bit more game prep, putting stuff into Roll20.
Debate tonight! I'll see about watching at least the first part of
it. You never know I could change my mind and decide I'm voting for
Trump!! hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahhahahahahahahahahahahahahah
No.
Moving on.
Have everything planned out for the next few days. Bringing Oliver
over to my parent's tomorrow, I'll just put him in the bathroom for
an hour. Then to the vet. I forget when I can pick him up. Do they
do the x-ray right away? But they have to sedate him right? I forget
how that works. Then starting Joe's stupid test. Shopping. Then
doing game.
Then over the weekend maybe doing the lawn, but for sure picking
berries, doing the weeds, making a pie, cleaning the freezer out,
and thinking about christmas gifts.
That should do it for this week. Almost July. Day off next week! See
everyone then.
