2024-03-07:

Fri:
Wow, frontier is really pushing their fiber internet. Is this even legal? "To complete this transition, we've scheduled a technician visit to your home on 3/19/2024 between 8AM-12PM." Uh, no. You haven't. This borders on... something really seedy that probably has a legal name that could get them in a lot of trouble, if any bad behavior resulted in consequences anymore.

Anyway, hi! Welcome to March or whatever.

Today included, uh, Don coming to ramble about his insurance problems, needing a new tooth, praising cataract surgery, oh and some work stuff too I guess?

Closed the gabi action, let us never speak of it again. Ever. Get back in your box, foul demon! Back! Get thee behind me, Satan! Oh wait I went too far.

No haul.

Didn't meet with Joe as Tim wanted other people to attend the meeting, so now I have an 8:00 meeting on Monday. Yay? No thank you.

Got a test task very late about someone complaining they used to use SNMP logout commands (that are not specified) to delete both user jobs and copy jobs done by the user at the same time. Because I'm sure this happens. The document provided clearly says on line one it cannot be used for copy jobs. It says it right there. But I'm supposed to verify this used to work on older machines but doesn't work on newer machines? If I can't see the jobs, how am I supposed to delete them? Also, the document doesn't say anything about logout, which is the complaint. I sent a message to Christina, she does more SNMP stuff these days, to get her opinion on Monday.

Yeah not too much really happened work wise.

Got the shopping done, saw my parents.

Then home for game. Ah, the old stuck in the spirit world gag. We've done the "going to the demon world by accident" gag in Demongate High, maybe more than once. I'm glad these characters also get to experience it. Actually didn't I see this in Avatar too? Anyway, we know how to "deal" with the ship now, so that's a thing. But she's still hanging around as we perform 5 challenges, in order for the spirits to let us go home. We completed the first. Yes, just the first. So at least 2 more sessions before this one adventure is over? We're going to be raking in the XP which is excellent because I need plenty for what I have planned. Oh, I have so many plans. I planned it. Sadly the spiritual manifestation of the ship will have to be lost, as it's proximity of her ship's wheel to the special necklace that allows her to exist. The necklace must be returned to Kojiro, so he can get his power back. Ergo: she must be destroyed. Sorry 'bout that!

That took until midnight.

Sat:
Cleaned up the house.
Checked sites.
Did the "paperwork" for last month. I had one, count it, one official invoice. Can I shut this business down yet? Allow me to remind you that last month was two. Can we get it down to zero? Let's try it.
Finished the RPG I was playing. They are short, story wise, but have a lot of optional content you can do. So it was just that, and the ending.
Started another. Ah, we're back to random battles, nifty. Sort of hate them, but at least in this game I can grind levels again so it's a trade-off. They go quickly, the only thing I don't like is I will miss, and miss, and miss, and miss my attacks on one dude. This is honestly unacceptable. I've never seen a group of adventurers so inept. A miss in a final fantasy game is few and far between. I mean how you do miss a cyclopse that takes up half the screen? Are they that nimble? Really? One miss per battle at most, thank you. This is dumb. But I press on.
Rained a lot of the day.

Posted the latest story, I can't believe I forgot to do that. It's in the books section, go get it. Go get it! It's at the bottom. You can't miss it. Just scroll past the other 50+ books there and you'll see it. Have you read my other works?

Parents came to watch movie, then did xbox with the others. Got my Wisp Prime all leveled up and got the last part of a weapon Sean was trying to get for a long time. I too needed the part so I started the build.

Sun:
Did the weekly reading, that took a bunch of time as usual. Read more of the comic I picked up as well, ran that content out. Time for a new one.
Had lunch.
Moved the PC a few feet, I think it looks a lot better where it is now.
Did some gaming. Odd to have a game where a freaking angel is wandering around and nobody seems to care? One NPC kid mentions "you look funny" but everyone else is just "hey, how's it going?" What? Look, there's an angel right there? Do you not see that? The wings? Really?
Had dinner.
No calls! I did get the Mac in over the weekend, so I do have to change the drive out for the guy. But that's not a big deal, I just have to email him it's in. I should power it up first of course.

Mon:
Had the morning Joe meeting to discuss the cloud login feature. It's not as bad as I thought, as many of the usual features such as scan to home won't work, and much of the "new" content is already shared with smartcard. It exists. As long as it is shown it'll probably be fine. We don't have to bend over backwards checking every little thing. Don't get me wrong it's still a lot of work, and we don't actually have the cloud stuff in place yet so there is still questions on "their" side about how the testing will work. As long as the people in the know don't know, I can't be expected to know. You know? You know.
Didn't get the 3/2 haul. Again it vanished. But everything in there now is 3/5 which unless I'm mistaken is tomorrow? Gimme! I'll be checking throughout the day, believe you me. I believe me, you. Wait...

Worked on test cases for the project. And basically nothing else. Which was annoying, because even I can only keep focus on a singular task for like five hours. But I think I got it just about done! I don't know how much I have to duplicate for the authenticator part, the device doesn't really know which method is used, right? So as long as I can log in, maybe check email or something, it's fine?

Oh, and Christina looked at my weird action from Gina about deleting copy jobs, she said she tried it, and yeah, they're either not telling us the right thing or they're just lying about the feature working because there's no way to see the jobs with SNMP so you clearly can't erase them that way! We need to push back and get more info about what they're talking about.

Got cat food. It was 73 out today! The first week of March. One of my bushes has little buds already. Yipes. Too soon little one! Took a kitty out.

Checked sites, had dinner.

Played the RPG. Lilith is back!

Tues:
Finished up the test cases and sent them out for review. It's going to be a long test, that's for sure. 117 cases I think it ended up being? We'll see how the review goes.

Read through what I had of the in progress book. Thankfully I have notes for the whole book, I just need to get back to writing it.

Gina came to ask about monitors, she wants one of the trash ones I saved. She hadn't seen the comments on her actions for me yet. Silly.

Not much else. Still in the 70s though.

Came back here, got set up to do the swap for the guy. He came, did the swap no problem.

Checked sites, ate dinner.

Oh, and of course it's today I get a $5.00 tractor supply. Thanks guys.

Did xbox with the others.

Wed:
Not much work wise. Again the haul vanished. But the next date is Friday so maybe I'll get another chance.

Talked with Don about some cert thing on a machine we don't really test, it's not our software. One of the tiny devices.

Rainy.

I did get the next chapter written. Don't know that I'm completely back into the story but I knew what I wanted, Olaph is about to get jumped by remnants and almost killed. But why? Who can say!?

Came back here, checked sites, ate dinner.

Did some xbox on my own, trying to finish something I started with the others yesterday.

It'll need more work.

Thurs:
Not much yet at work, but we're getting closer to getting builds we can test. Yay?

Had the usual meeting. Discovered another project that wasn't on the board so great, it's even worse than I thought. Thanks for that.

Wrote 1/3 of the next chapter. Yeah, I was reading too much of other people's stories. Sorry bouth that.

Got up to the attack. don't know if I'll write it there, writing combats without the map is always dicey.

Still pretty warm out though. Snow for Monday maybe?

I also worked on my Veil character. He's an old curmudgeon now!

Got back here, checked sites. Had dinner. Did more xbox until guy arrived. That went fine, hopefully no more problems with him.

Finished up the warframe stuff I wanted to do. Got all the parts for Trinity and found a newfound appreciation for Vauban.

Now for the future.

Don't see much happening at work tomorrow, though, oh! We can supposedly test one of the card reader update things. Perhaps I will take one machine, Christina took my test cases and has been updating them, so she's sort of been the lead on it, but I can offer to do one model while she does another. That can speed things up. Sigh. So there's that. No writing then. Oh well.

See my parents, I'll go to the bank I don't have many checks but I've had some a month. Sheesh. Do the shopping. Game should happen. Maybe we can get through like TWO of the paths this time??

Then game Saturday. I'll bring a gift! For all the world to share.
I hope everyone likes the gift.

That I think should be it. Nothing planned Sunday. Oh, except changing the clocks of course.

Is something coming up next week? Nah, guess not.

Well, see you then!
