2023-05-11:

Fri:
No new work today.
Wrote another chapter. Well, two chapters but one was a diary entry so it's just a half chapter. I kind of like that "mechanic" for this story. Lets me do a time skip but still show "hey I've been working on stuff" or get her reaction to things without her just sitting around thinking about stuff.
No haul, maybe Monday.
Sunny at least though.
Went shopping, saw my parents.
Came back, got ready for game by checking sites and getting all the various supporting documents ready.
No game, Sean was late getting home and tired and said his voice was fading out. Silly Sean!
Did some reading.
Then legacy, cleaning out the quests my original Tifa had done, and getting ideas what to do next now that she hasn't met the same people or done the exact same things. She doesn't have them to point her in the right direction, so she's going to take the initiative and figure things out for herself. Much better, story wise. Don't you think? It's sort of weird to have people just standing around lamenting their inability to solve their own problems and whining at you to do it.

Sat:
Figured out why Legacy was seeming harder than before. The save I was using was on hard mode. Sheesh. I put it on story mode instead. Take that, hard mode!
Took care of emails and putting things in the checkbook.
Sites.
Videos.
Then out to my 11:00. Just basic stuff as I figured. How long have computers been around? 40 years? Okay, great.
Back here, lunch.
More Legacy and then back to reading. Not liking it as much as the other story. Going to Earth now? CERN? I don't know.
Wrapped Mizzy's gift and was on my way.
Did the last space angel game? We're not sure. We don't want to exclude Adam to slot in Stan. But having Adam in the other game is probably too many people. It's equally likely not but what can you do?

Sun:
Did the first yard work of the year. A good number of bushes seem to have lived, and while the stalks on the side are still quite small, most of them survived as well. This is good! Did some weeding, the nasty ground cover stuff is doing quite well already.
Did some house cleanup stuff.
Looked at jumping another car. Huh, we seem to have done everything right last night. Sorry it didn't work Alyx, hope Sean got you going.
Checked sites, videos.
Did some Legacy.
Baked my last pie from last year's berries. Hope this year is a bit more bountiful. Didn't have any yet, working on a pie my mother gave me. I thought it was smaller version of the meat pie we had for dinner that night. Imagine my surprise when I cut into it and it was not! Silly boy.
Made notes on the direction I want the story to go. I think I've got a good flow, how things can still happen without people just randomly standing around until the "main character" comes along. Everybody knows somebody, and as Aerith's reputation grows others can seek her out for help. Done.
Made a call, the mac guy I had just visited. Said he was having trouble with attachments, not that he could articulate this well. So I asked him to please demonstrate, open an attachment and tell me what happened. He revealed he didn't have any email with attchments right now. Uh, what? Then why did you call me? There must have been an email with an attachment you wanted to open that prompted the call, no? No? Okay then. I said "when you get an attachment you can't open, then we'll have something to look at. Call me then." He agreed that was logical. I mean, really people, get it together will you?
Got ready for tomorrow. Watched a movie.

Mon:
Got the haul. A full crate. Some things I'll need to eat up fast, but I'm up to the challenge. I'll bring my parents some other stuff and all will be well.

Not much work wise. Maybe some later, something about delegate printing Don was talking about right before I left.

Otherwise did two chapters, as usual.

Gave some of the haul to my parents and came back here.

Checked sites, had dinner.

No calls! Yay!

Tues:
Only got to write one chapter today. I guess I'm even a slacker at slacking off!

I had many meetings, that's the thing. The feature we should have been done with like a week ago (the original final build was 5/6 I believe) still doesn't have a complete set of specs, we went over them again today. At least in part. Will it ever be done? Who can say.

The usual Joe meeting.

Did some stuff for Gina too, loading this one weblet and supplemental files is a real pain. I guess xerox people are going to do it on site? Strange and expensive way to go, I guess. Very odd.

It works, it just won't log me in the card. Very odd. Not sure why.

Got some more pickle packs and some empty water bottles (one full, one half full I put on my plants) but may get more tomorrow. They put stuff in with a short date on it. Maybe they move stuff around? See if it'll sell better in one place than another? I don't know.

Came back here, checked sites. Videos.

Then some Xbox with the others. Actually started playing Halo again, not just warframe.

Wed:
Got my two chapters done today. We rescued Highwing and Poppy couldn't be more thrilled. First real, not undone death in the series too, she's going to take it pretty hard.

Had a late meeting but really there was no need for me to be there.

Couldn't do the test because someone took over my machine. Thought I had taken it for two days. Nope. Did you really need to load a different package, take my stuff off, and then do nothing with it? Person isn't even in the lab, don't know what test it was being used for. Whatever, I have it again tomorrow so I can finish up.

Otherwise not much else I guess. No haul, the stuff from 5/9 is still in there, maybe tomorrow?

Came back here, one call. Just a guy that wants to give me stuff. I'll take stuff.

Checked sites, ate dinner.

Thurs:
I misplaced my notebook and pen? That's odd. I discovered it after getting cat litter, as I couldn't buy enough the place was out of it last time. Yes, out of cat litter. At least the stuff I buy. I  put the receipt in my pocket and thought, where is my notebook? I can't find it anywhere around here. It's no big loss, but it did have the usual passwords we use around the place on the back cover. It must be someplace. I couldn't have lost both from my shirt pocket without noticing? When I was looking at the trash? Can't be. Right? So weird.

Anyway, today. Messed with the machine on and off, testing the install from the gallery. It just doesn't work right from there. We need an expert to tell us why.

Had the status meeting, no onedrive meeting we may be done with those finally?

Got one chapter done. In the main game once the elf dies nothing more is said. The guy just sort of gets away with having his elf basically live in this spider infested cave to pick up slugs until he dies. And the game just breezes on by. Well of course I couldn't let that stand. My character, uh, may have gone overboard.

Got a mini-haul. Two salad, a few sandwiches. The odd thing is one of them is still sell by the 9th. Was it just missed? Weird. The other area had the bag changed, and I didn't get the big cart in time so there may have been more. We'll never know.

Got another release of D7.7. I guess they're calling this new release the pre-release, except last release was supposed to be the pre-release. Sure. So I have stuff to do tomorrow. Not much, mind you, it's quick tests I've done before but it's something.

Got litter, like I said before.

Came back here, checked sites and ate dinner.

Little further in Legacy. Not going to do the Slytherin stuff with Sebastian in the story. Basically Aerith makes the case that you can't put out a house fire with more fire. Attacking this problem, caused by "dark magic" with more dark magic is meaningless.

Let's look ahead. Getting to work on D7.7 tomorrow. Hopefully finishing it, despite the fact the specs aren't even completely in for the one feature. Are we just ignoring it? Taking it out? Shipping it as is? I forgot to ask at the meeting today. Whoops.

The usual stuff, seeing my parents and shopping. No bank, still too early. We'll probably try to do game, the one we didn't do last week.

Then not much for the weekend at the moment. No game until next month so I'll invite my parents over. Do more yard work I'm sure there will be some. Ah, Mother's day! We'll probably go to Clarence. Don't forget your mothers!
