2023-04-13:
Fri:
Got the guy to put the onedrive on my devices, finished that up. For
once I've done two whole features and not really found any serious
bugs. I mean, sure, one of the features was just adding a card so
there's no reason once the machine accepts the card it would then
later have problems. And one feature was just bringing something
that already worked in D4.0 forward with a few modifications. But
still.
Don was there, talked about various things.
Not a lot of people were though, parking lot was empty when I left.
Don't know why that could be, total mystery.
Just did more writing, got another chapter done basically.
Saw my parents.
Did game. Summoned my ultimate bird, the best he'll ever be, which
drained me. But he couldn't hold the bad guy back. Stupid bad guy.
Somehow a spirit dog combined, voltron style, with other spirit
dogs, and then possessed the earth or something so it showed up as
this big dog made of rock and dirt. Who knew they could do that? Not
me! Sean said my bird's fire attack couldn't damage it, but as my
DTR was 9 (the max is ten, it could almost have taken a nuclear bomb
and been fine) and the ritual takes 10 minutes (he loves things
taking ten minutes) it was a stalemate. My bird had a strength of
25, the "strongest of all creatures in existence" is Fenrir who has
a strength of 32. So he still had a ways to go but still. He should
have been able to do something. We're supposed to solve our own
problems, not have an NPC do it. The NPC showed up anyway, because
that's how RPGs work. So I guess I didn't need to summon him myself
after all. So there.
More Legacy, let's finish it up!
Nope, Xbox instead. I only played for like two minutes before Sean
messaged me. Ah well, tomorrow is there.
Sat:
Now I finished it up. Sadly there's no new game+ here. Sigh.
Found a save editor though, at least I can get myself some money and
the spells. I'll probably ignore most everything else apart from
missions. I started the next playthrough and made some notes on the
classes I take first. We'll see how it goes.
Went to my 10:00. As expected he had a dozen firefox addons. I
removed them. He's still running 7. Ugh. Mbam didn't find anything
though so that's good.
Then put in the optical drive for the guy down the street from him.
Back here I ate lunch, did the above legacy.
Watched a movie.
Worked on the book a bit, wanted to add some more details to the
chapters I already wrote. I also realized I did a bad thing. After
writing the prologue I wrote things like "I did this" instead of
"Aerith did this" sort of thing. Bad dog, no treat. I had to go back
and correct it. Have to remember diary entries use "I did" but
regular chapters use "she did." Sloppy, very sloppy.
Then xbox with the others.
Sun:
Easter! Finished up the read through I started last night to make
sure I got all the "I did" stuff. There were a lot! I hope I got
them all.
Checked videos and sites.
Went to my parents. Where nothing happened, and it was all fine. We
will never speak of it again.
Made calls. Didn't reach email lady or "hanging" lady. Did, of
course, reach Ellen. A treat as usual and only took twenty minutes.
The third Owl House episode dropped. Didn't have time to watch it,
and I want to watch all three of the final episodes in order anyway.
Stupid linear time!!!
Mon:
Not much at work today. Not until Wednesday anyway. No haul yet, the
dates are tomorrow so maybe tomorrow night or Wednesday morning.
I finished a chapter and most of another. Maybe another paragraph or
two will finish it up.
Came back here, checked sites and ate dinner.
Watched season 3 of the owl house. I don't know, maybe liked the
Amphibia ending a tiny bit better? At least in terms of action.
Still this was satisfying and I wish they had been able to do a real
season 2 and 3.
Spent an hour on the phone with the lady that got the MacBook
recently. Scanning took a half hour, despite it only being "open
image capture, and set your options." Then email took a half hour.
She opened her email on her old PC (why???) and because it's
probably using POP or something it messed her mail up. Don't do
that.
Didn't reach the other person.
Might finish up the chapter? Did finish the chapter. She's back in
school and insisting to learn at least a dozen spells before she
steps outside again. Because let's be honest, she can do magic and
if you suddenly found out you could do magic, even yucky stupid wand
magic, you would want to learn all the spells you could too.
Tues:
Pretty good haul. The usual mix, I just put everything in the fridge
because of the stupid 8:00 meeting on Tuesdays, I'll have to frezer
some of it later.
Had a salad for lunch, the market one, as it was the oldest item in
the bunch.
Not much else. The demo is still going forward tomorrow but they've
having some problems with the release on certain machines. Whoops.
Not cool, guys.
Christina left in the afternoon, she's not feeling well.
Otherwise did more writing. I'm up to 8 chapters.
Came back here, checked sites. No calls, thank you. At least none
yet.
Got ready for tomorrow.
Did a bit of Legacy, it's a lot easier now that I have a sense of
where all the stupid invisible pages are. I made more notes, I
should have plenty to write up in the coming days. How does my
character recognize Rookwood though. At that point they haven't seen
him, right? I'm wracking my brain trying to figure out how she saw a
random dude in a top hat and said "yes, he's the one, he's done it
all right, I'd recognize him anywhere" and followed him. She doesn't
know anything about this guy. It's so weird. I'm sure she's never
seen him!
Wed:
Got the work in. Sort of. The demo went a bit poorly, who would
guess there would be infrastructure issues in India? I know, we have
them here too I can't say we don't. I mean I can, but I would be
lying. Anyway, we only got through part of it.
Christina is still out.
So I had to get the setup guide and install all this stuff on my
own! I know! They expect a lot from me. But I managed it. Got it all
tested on one device. The other devices I didn't hear they fixed the
issues, so that's up in the air. Wrote one bug, it doesn't clone
right. Whoops. Otherwise, just fine.
And a surprise visit from the voice people. It wasn't very
effective. Now instead of showing the wrong window and text for
entering an email address to search for, it shows, uh, nothing! It
times out and I get logged off. Not really an improvement, honestly.
How do you make it worse fixing bugs? So I did that for a bit.
Did some writing in the afternoon, not a whole chapter though.
Came back here, very nice outside. Checked sites, ate dinner. No
calls, thank you.
But one came in. No problem, she always has questions so it's fine.
I wanted to play some River City Girls but I also wanted to
finish the chapter. I thought I would have enough time to do both.
It turned out I did not. Oh well, chapter 9 is done, and the troll
is about to attack the village. Well, tomorrow then. Promise?
Thurs:
Christina came back, but she's still sounding stuffy.
The problem with the other device seemed contained to just that
device so the developer said I could go ahead with my testing. So I
did that. Got both other devices done. Also did a little gabi stuff,
but the issue is still not fixed. How do you make it worse?
The usual meetings, we should get a final onedrive package I can
look over soon.
And Don decided he wanted the lockdown test done, great. Only on one
device but it's like 6 test plans long. Not looking forward to that.
Sean got the MLP RPG PDF, but with everything else going on I
skimmed it. Huh, only pony races? What if I want everyone to be a
different race at the friendship school? As the series is over, they
really should have every option in there. Of course, additional
books are possible I guess...
Watered the plants, pulled nickel cans out of the recycling and put
them in the bin for charity that's right next to it. Honestly, you
don't even have to move. Just drop them into a different can. Are
you really that... word that's yet to be invented to describe how
totally whatever it is you are? Well, you are, and a total, total
one at that.
Came back here, no calls. Had dinner, checked sites.
As promised, played some RCG2.
Had a call, told him to click "yes" to the upgrade. Sometimes it's
the simple things...
Finished the skimming of the RPG book. Maybe I'll print it tomorrow?
Got ready for tomorrow as well. Lockdown. Ugh.
What else? Shopping, naturally. I'll go to the bank, some of those
checks are coming up on a month old. Shopping. Then seeing my
parents.
Come back to game. Have no idea what we're going to do about the
Voltron spirit that's tearing the place up. Die to it, I guess.
Then Saturday the only planned thing is game. The last space angels
game, then we go back to Emberhaven now that Stan is well enough to
do so. Remotely, from his hospital bed he may be, but it's better
than just laying there.
I need to do paperwork from last month.
It's nice now, I wonder if it'll be nice Sunday? I'd like to do the
cleaning, mopping the floors is just the start. Spring cleaning
time.
Otherwise nothing else major planned. Oh, reading the pony book of
course. Yes, yes, the pony book.
That's a wrap. See you all next week.
