2023-02-02:
Fri:
Do I have covid? Christina wasn't in. She told me she had it. Feel
okay.
Worked on the tiny lexmark, we'll see what happens Monday. I just
loaded the software, it's a reporting thing and I can't make it
report that I know of. We just have to wait for it to report, then I
can read the report, and then make my report.
Then worked on OneDrive. Didn't get in the key to do the other task
or I would have finished that too.
The usual "you say this works but...." in onedrive. Will it ever be
over? I dispair of this. Projects that go on seem to just go on.
See; gabi.
Didn't stay at my parent's house, too much risk. Did go shopping and
to the bank. Who cares about those people, am I right? I kid! I kid
the reader! I wouldn't be around anyone long enough even if I was
infected. At least in theory?
Then back here.
We did game, saved the town and drove off the cultists. But are they
causing the problem or simply taking advantage of it? Who can say.
Well, Sean. He can say. Huh are all the cultists dead? We need
someone to ask, should have thought of that before we're busy
rebuilding the town now. It's way too late. Whoops! We suck.
Sat:
A bit more warframe, figured I would try again for the mod. No luck.
I did get a completely different rare mod though, so
thanks for that game. It makes a burst of fire at your feet if you
"bullet" jump so I'm not sure how useful that is.
Put it on public and got another Mirage, which was against the odds.
Pretty weird to get one other person and hey, it's a carbon copy of
me! I hope they also felt as I do.
Checked sites, around 12:00 took the covid test. It was negative,
thank goodness. Let's hope that's the end of it.
Had lunch.
Various stuff and went over to Sean's to watch the movies.
Sun:
A very bummer day. Was putting the laundry in the basket and
realized I didn't have a ring anymore. Yes, the ring I've had for 35
or so years or more is now lost. Great. I remember clearly having it
Thursday, for sure. Don't ask why specifically just accept that I'm
sure I had it then. Did it come off when I was rooting around in the
garbage at work Friday? I checked my gloves, see if it came off in
there or in my pocket, no luck. Checked the bed, no luck. What the
heck? Am I really so unobservant to loose a ring and not notice for
two or three days? I guess it could have come off when I pulled my
gloves off at the bank or the store on Friday? I can't really recall
if I had it at Sean's or not. I mean I've washed my hands many times
since Thursday one would think I would have noticed at that point.
It would help if I could tell how far back I had it, I mean I've
only been to work, my parents, Sean's, the store and back, the car,
and home. Could it have flown off at home and I'll just find it
lying around one day? Did a cat eat it? How do you just loose a
ring? I'll never find another like it, I can tell you that much. I
think I long ago took a picture of it... I can't help but recall the
scene in the first TMNT live action movie. When Raphael comes back
after rescuing April he angrily tells Splinter he lost a sai. "Then
it is gone." Splinter calmly replies. At least he did get the thing
back... I guess I don't have it too bad. There's a story about
people in Australia looking for some kind of radioactive capsule
they lost. It "fell off the truck" sometime between Jan 11th and
14th. I guess if people can lose a canister full of caesium-137 and
not notice for days, my losing a ring isn't such a screw up in
comparison.
Put anime I didn't have that Sean gave me away. He gave me a whole
box of disks he wants to throw away, just in case I didn't have
anything. Surprising amount of stuff I didn't. Now I just have to
find the time to watch it.
Watched two movies he gave me.
Cleaned a bit.
Looked for the ring.
Sunday stuff.
Two calls, a printer and a new setup. Printer lady didn't answer,
and the guy was only calling to make sure I did it, he doesn't have
the new PC yet. Uh huh.
Got ready for tomorrow, late meeting so I'm glad there was no real
call today.
Mon:
Got in the number I was hoping for last week. Whoops, it doesn't
work? What a shock. They're looking into why.
Looked at the printer report, the values we wanted to see are in
fact there, so that can be marked done.
Helped Christina out with local devices, sending upgrade files to
versalink there's a fairly high chance it's just going to give you
some kind of error. Should we maybe fix that? Eh, why bother? So I
was rebooting them and such for her. I also did some upgrade tests
for her, I think they're okay. The cloning doesn't work, and it was
the main point of the whole exercise. It's 90% of the test cases.
Whoops, that may delay things.
Had a meeting about lexmark bug tracking, they use a pretty crappy
system I guess. Weird. Well, let's hope I never have to use it.
Stayed late because of that, and checked the bins again. Wha? I got
another really good haul!? How is that possible? I'm pretty sure I
got one just a week ago, Monday. Then another on Friday, and then
another today? I took a couple of things home I'm afraid the freezer
is getting too full. Some breakfast stuff, some bread, there's
plenty of veggies but no salad. Two more cups of yummy things, this
time mac and cheese, so I've got 2 more chili and those two for the
rest of the week. Crazy. I'll have one cup and one cookie I got last
week, that's more than enough for me.
Didn't find my ring at work anywhere, sad face.
Came back here, one call, cleaning out a Mac? Uh, no? What would I
even do?
Checked sites, ate soup and bread.
Worked on my warframe inventory. Sold some stuff, figured out what
things I would probably never have the parts for... sigh.
Tues:
Little bit of everything. Some meetings in the morning. We figured
out the key didn't work because of human error, not mine, and fixed
that up. So I could test the cert onedrive stuff. It's fine. Minor
test really. I added cloning, Christina didn't have any tests for
that.
Helped her doing stuff to the machines. She may be back tomorrow.
Helped Adnan with stupid equitrac stuff.
Came back here, did the driveway again it had snowed. It's winter
now!
One call, just the guy from before asking if I could set his machine
up. Nothing about the Mac battery.
Checked sites, ate dinner.
Then xbox with the others.
Wed:
Not much presented itself at work today. No meetings. Christina is
back, masked. She seems fine.
Did some minor things, looking into the active bugs for Gina,
helping Boris get a phone number for IT support. Minor stuff.
Then after work job, it wasn't too bad. Very tiny SSD, he only has
about 50GB left on it once his 106 GB was transferred. Whoops.
Bigger whoops is I forgot to tell him. Oh well.
Came back here, checked sites and had dinner. Only one more meal of
yummy soup to go.
Checked into the new romance items in warframe. Sigh, you need debt
bonds, because of course you do.
Thurs:
Got something in, but let's start at the start. Had the usual
meetings. Made movies proving a bunch of things I told the onedrive
people about are actual problems, and things the other version
didn't have. Go figure. That took some time. Met with Don about
priorities, because he likes to feel involved. And got in the new
installer, that doesn't need admin rights. It failed completely, and
I emailed Don and Ken and said "okay here's what I did, here's what
it did. Now what?" I had stayed a bit late to try and get it done
but if you're just going to fail... I mean come on.
Came back here, the usual things as I had dinner.
One call from the distant past, setting up a new machine. Wants
Monday, which is fine. I will be an hour late to work to bring
Tinker in for his blood work. Poor guy.
Almost ordered a battery, I forgot to note down if it was a 13" or a
15" and they have different ones. Whoops. Bad repair guy, bad!
Looking ahead more installer nonsense at work tomorrow I'm sure, and
maybe the final D7.6 build for the new permission model. We were
supposed to get an official word today but no, no that didn't
happen.
Go shopping and drop stuff off at my parent's house on the way home.
See my parents for my father's birthday, then home for game.
Saturday doesn't seem like any work, but we are I believe still on
for game. Second session of the big spaceship human angel guys. I
think we'll be joined by a new member, we'll see how that goes.
Then Sunday the usual laying about! I have three invoices to put in
for January, better get to that! Plenty of things to watch, better
get to that too.
So that's it for this week I guess. Cold. Probably going to be
colder, too. Not fun. Assuming none of us freeze I'll see you all
next time.
