2022-12-29:

Fri:
Went in on the snowy day. Not so much snow, of course, but a lot of wind. Other places got much more. They can have it! Except 50+ people died because of it so that's not good. Stay safe everyone.
Did the new build, there are problems. Who wants to bet most won't be fixed? Some are minor, like the VBS showing one thing in one place, but another thing in another. Whoops! Which is right? Who knows? But some are more serious like turning this new thing on makes the "globe" button go away so you can't switch the language. Or turning it off doesn't turn it off everywhere so the button is still there it just does nothing. Crazy stuff.
That took the morning, did the server check in the afternoon and then some Myst.
Still kinda bad, not made any easier by the tiny screen and very, very dark graphics. And it crashed on me trying to go through the stupid maze. In trying to solve the "weights" puzzle I figured out every combination of moving the two levers to adjust the numbers to get 2,2,1 but none worked. Whoops, holding the lever made the center one spin on it's own. Solved it two seconds after looking it up. How was I supposed to know that? There was nothing that even hinted at it working differently if you held the lever down a little longer.
Came home, stopped at UPS. Gurr. No help there. Didn't even suggest putting my name on the back, which is what the next "we missed you" note said to do on my door when I got home. Huh? The website didn't mention that either. And again, like the puzzle above, why would I bother looking on the back on the thing when nothing on the front indicated more options were back there?
Windy.

Then FF7.

Sat:
Looks like we weathered the storm, though my parents have a tree down. A big tree. Like, the tree. Messy.
Checked sites and such.
Oh, what's this? A steam sale? Hummm....
Wizard of Legend for less than $5.00? Well, even if I never play it again I did play it so I figured the devs should get something from me. So I bought it. Installed it on my Mac, ugh it's not native? It's emulated still? When is that little problem going to go away? Anyway, it runs fine but still, it could run better.
Played a bit, maybe I have the wrong idea, or maybe mindset is the right word. Let's just mess around with spells rather than trying to find a perfect build, and just however far I get, that's how far I got. No more pressure than that. I will try and get my yellow robe back through. So... Expensive... And you only get a choice of 3, and they don't refresh like the spells do. Gurrr. I have to buy at least several before it comes out. Sigh. At least the one I got first increased the amount of money I make per run.
Went to my parent's house, braving the cold. At least it's less windy.
Did the game, and came back here. My little mini games were of course a hit. As in everyone wanted to hit me afterword?
Bedtime. Wasn't that long a day but I'm tired.

Sun:
Christmas day! Gave the cats their gifts. Everyone was checking out the new hut, and some playing did occur with the new toys.
Checked sites and videos.
Then over for yummy food and presents. Thanks to everyone for another good Christmas. My mother remarked it was weird not to go anywhere and it was. Such is life, I guess.

Mon:
Put gifts away.
Cleaned up. I'll pick the tree and such up next week. May as well keep it around one more week.
Played some Wizard and then some FF7. Well I say some I spent most of the day playing that. Don't judge me. Picked up Aerith again! Yay Aerith!
More Wizard after dinner, actually beat the first stage! And promptly died in the first room of the second. Brilliant. At least I showed I could do it. Got 3 cloaks, no yellow one yet.
3 calls, including the guy from York! Yay! "Do you still have the VM, we need data from 2021..." Nope. Too bad. It's been destroyed. Why do you need such old data in the first place? And so long after closing? It doesn't make sense. You should have done all paperwork needed a month or more before you closed, and especially when your PC died, and you were using my loaner, to make sure everything was squared away.
Didn't reach him. The first guy fixed his issue apparently, and the second lady has a Mac so I couldn't easily see her screen. Sigh. I think she just needs to put in her email password. But she's not that far away so it should be fine going out tomorrow.
Xbox with the others? I guess I can do a little more video gaming today? We're trying the "under 8 hour run" in Halo Infinite. Going okay so far.

Tues:
Pretty dead around here.
Like, no cars in the parking lot dead. Why am I even at work? The most excitement was putting some DNS records straight for Adnan. That's it.
Otherwise just played my DS. It's a day off where you still come into work!

Went over to after work password issue. It was, as I believed, a password issue. Trying to reset it was all the fun things. Like giving them the MAC address of the equipment, proving beyond doubt I'm who I say I am. How would I have gotten this otherwise? But no, after this I have to enter "favorite song" and of course we have no recollection of this esoteric bit of data. So I try another way. Oh, you can email me a password reset link? That's great... except for the fact I can't get email because I don't know the password. Finally found a support number and got it taken care of. She asked how that happened. Lady, I have no idea.

Came back here, checked sites, ate dinner, got ready for another fun packed day tomorrow. Gonna be so good.

One call today, someone now in florida. Printer issues. Dude, I don't care... and you're in florida now. Go ask a Desantis supporter or something. Why me? Anyway, got her sorted out. The first printer just had a job being canceled stuck in the queue, thanks for that little bug remaining MS, the second seemingly has no windows 11 driver. I installed the windows 10 one, I guess from 2016? Sheesh has it been that long? It accepted it but I don't know how well it'll work.

Didn't reach York fellow, once again. Nothing of value has been lost.

Got the achievement for winning Infinite in less than 8 hours. With a lot more along the way, so there.

Wed:
Biggest happening of the day was finally  going through a big box of trash. I assume it's all getting trashed, from the area behind me, as it's full of phones. Pulled out a monitor, another stapler, some cups, a CD full of stuff marked "xerox internal use only" that should have been in the blue trash bins, a keyboard, etc. Made a lot of things mine.

Got to the end stage of the game I was playing and it went black. Tried several times, no dice. Sigh.

So yeah, pretty boring. Even less people there today, and looking at the calendar it'll be even less tomorrow/friday.

Back here, checked sites, ate dinner. Email lady called again? Something is going on with her account, seems like. Call Spectrum. Yeah, I put her password in here at my end and it didn't accept it. Strange. Time to see about calling them.

Thurs:
Another fairly boring day, but we did have a meeting to spice it up. Two, even. A meeting about the bug relating to releasing jobs, a Christina bug I had no insights on, and the status meeting with all of 2 other people. So... worthwhile...

I was just reading some of my Susan Fic. I had watched a video wondering if new insights had been gained about book 4. They hadn't. Ah, my stuff is so much better.

Went to set up Win2003 again for the york fellow. Sigh, while I was there I recalled, "wait, maybe I took it off the laptops but didn't I stick it on my backup just in case?" I had. So once again I find out I'm an idiot. I could have just brought everything over. Oh, some of the stuff I would have still had to do, I couldn't run VirtualBox without turning on the VM crap in the bios, and I couldn't restart to get to the bios without a windows update! So great! That took 15 or so minutes. So glad that's unskippable thanks MS. Finally got it installed and loaded. Sigh.

No calls when I got home. At 7:00. Checked sites, ate dinner.

Let's look to the future! Tomorrow will be pretty busy, dentist at 8:30, then in to work, not much happening there of course, then shopping, then going to my sister's house for my mother's (late) birthday. Probably no game? It's still a little up in the air.

Then Saturday is Sean's for New Eve. We have Monday off, and it's rocketing into 2023. Take the holiday stuff down, move the calendar stuff over, the usual. Humm, get the tax numbers ready. Though I can do that all Sunday I expect.
