Fri:
Work finally, but wrote a bunch more bugs. It's the onedrive app, they got all the features working, according to them, but we'll see how it works on Versalink. Like will it scan in color now? I got all the altlink testing done that I wanted to do. And it does allow bigger scans so that's something.
Bank, shopping, and saw my parents.
Sites, and videos back here, no game remember.
Started on some of the weekend stuff, figured I would get it done in case there was rain earlier than expected;
Put the clippings in the bags my father brought over.
Stacked up cat food cans from the latest boxes.
Waterbed stuff in.
Look into dropbox and the Mac and how to upgrade it
I'm just going to copy the dropbox folder to the flash drive. It's not perfect, but I have the space for it I don't need the whole 16TB of disks just what I put on dropbox. That's for the movies and TV shows and anime. It doesn't go on the dropbox. So it can just move forward with the new M1 and I can keep the downstairs Mac as the file server. The only piece of dropbox data it uses on a regular basis is the address list of my customers. I can probably put that someplace else though. So I'm copying everything to the flash drive which will take some time it's 165GB (the flash drive that's the size of my thumbnail is 512GB) but then I'll just uninstall dropbox on the Mac Pro when it's done. Estimate is... an hour? Copying a drive in windows that was 50GB took two hours. Oh it's up to two hours now. So we'll see when it finishes.
Then did No Man's Sky.

Sat
First thing I did was check the hole in the front door wood. The putty stuff was still wet. No sense putting more stuff in there. It's a pretty deep hole, I wonder if this stuff is even appropriate for it. Maybe I should have taken some wood, used this stuff as a "glue" and shoved it all in there. Whoops, too late to think about it now.
Then I went to find replacement parts for the garage door. The place was where I went for the opener. They had the parts, $40 vs $10 online. Eh, support local business. They came with the rollers so...
Got them in. Somehow.
The track was unhooked in two places on the right side. It had been a bit wobbly, but it still went up and down so I didn't care. Now it didn't, so I had to do something about it. And the left side pull rope (it's not really rope) was frayed so I changed it out, as I had a spare. Thanks, past me.
Went to Lowes, got some longer bolts so I could secure the rails properly.
Bolted that in. With two bolts in every hole. Because you know she always dreamed of having two in one hole. (what's that look for? Ohhhhhhhhh.)
So starting at around 9:00 I was done at 12:30. Because I have no idea what I'm doing. But it goes up and down smoothly again, and that's all I can ask.
Blew out the garage floor, it had gotten all dirty from our efforts on labor day.
Ate lunch finally.
Checked sites.
Left for Sean's Saturday for the pyre game at 3:25. The last we'll do of it for probably two months.
Ugh, the laptop is running the now unsupported OS for dropbox as well. Forgot about that. I guess I'll just have to remember to manually copy over the folder I need before I leave?

Sun:
Finally do more 3D printing. I think I finally figured out the best way to print the parts. Took long enough. Printing both halves of each part with raft made a huge raft and took a lot longer. But printing each half separately only made a tiny raft. Go figure. Printed a lot faster. So I have, uh, half the parts printed? No, less than that. But at least the rest of the printing should go a lot faster, with the new technique. Let's get it done next week!
Make more ice cream with the other half of the cream.
Do paperwork from last month. 9 jobs, really worth the effort there. I've still not made enough to cover the amount I put in my IRA for the year. With only four months to go looks like it will be far, far less than that.
Bit of cleaning.
Then No Man's Sky. I finally found the activated copper I (we) need to fix our ships the rest of the way. Terrible planet, storms every few minutes (fire storms) then it drops in temperature to the opposite extreme. So you basically have to find a deposit, fly over there (walking will kill you) wait in your ship until the storm passes, jump out, mine the deposit, see if there's another nearby, mark it so you know where to go, and hop in your ship again. Still managed to make a base so we can get back there if we need more. I collected a lot.

Watched the Mummy movie Dad loaned me. Ate dinner.
Got ready for tomorrow, one call, he wants to drop off a laptop so that's fine.
Then warframe with the others, got the new free one, and then an hour of No Man's so I could give them the stuff I got.

Mon:
Time to do the Versalink! It has its own share of problems, but one of them was I registered a device I had registered to the other server. Whoops. It didn't tell me that, just seemed to be registered, so I started testing it. I caught the mistake fairly quickly, and fixed it. Finished it up, I think. Oh there's probably more to find and I may spend some time poking at it, but the major problems should be shaken out.

That took all day, so I came back. I debated stopping for the wood and a couple more long bolts but I decided against it because of the rain.

Checked sites, had dinner.

Looked at the laptop that was brought. Registry stuff, as usual. I was able to repair it though and it's booting fine.

Remembered I had a busted up multi-tool and the opportunity for trading it in at that robot base I cleared out. Hoped it was still there, and it was. I got an exotic (in silver!) one. Is it really better than my "rifle" type at mining? Hard to say.

Took care of my settlement, got some more special copper.
Watched Castelvania. Missed an invitation for xboxing with the others because they had been in the star trek channel so I was ignoring the beeps. Whoops.

Tues:
Somewhat all over the place in the morning. Getting a machine ready for a developer because I guess they just don't have machines over there? Helped with setting up the two new machines, at least a little. Answering emails. Tried the procedure to use our accounts with the onedrive, but got nowhere. No response when I said 'this is what happened' either.

Then in the afternoon I worked on more of the onedrive, as I put the settings back the way they were. Good thing I thought to make a backup of the file! Good thinking, past me. Wrote a few more bugs, several relating to the translation (or lack thereof as it happens). I think we're up to 50. Made sure fixed bugs were fixed. Poked around, that sort of thing. I think it's pretty much tested.

Went to lowes, the piece of wood was longer and heavier than I expected, but I got it into the car and got it home. Also bought one more long screw thing, put that in nice and deep.

Checked my settlement. Checked sites, videos, ate dinner.
No calls, yay!

Finished season 2 of Castlevania. No gaming with the others tonight, Sean had grading and Mizzy wasn't feeling well from her booster.

So I just poked around a bit more, looking for something interesting to do. I decided to go after as many buried tech modules as I could and just get every upgrade. Naturally I didn't manage it. And I'm not just talking cosmetics either, there's still plenty of stuff to buy.

Wed:
More work on the onedrive thing, as Christina got pulled back into the EIP login thing she was doing before. I tried to find what size of file it didn't like. I think I did a good job. Wrote a few more bugs, the usual.

Came back here, checked sites. Ate dinner. Put more goop in the hole under the door. No rain forecast for the next few days so I should be okay to paint it by the weekend.

I decided two things at work, well, I figured one thing out and decided another. I would make a vault, and build the exosuit. See, the giant robot you can build I had parts for, and thought building it would be a whole mission and didn't want to do it without the others. Nope. You just buy a platform and that platform makes the vehicle for you. Oh. So I got that started, as part of my settlement missions.

What I had decided was the vault. Maybe I mentioned this weeks ago but on the radioactive planet I built a very nice, huge, two story base. Figuring we might need the space one day. But thus far I hadn't filled it. Ah hah, what about a vault? So I bought up every storage unit the game offers and shoved them all into that room. Wired them up, it's glorious. Put in a trade terminal too, in case we want to sell from there. So that's the vault.

I got the blueprint for the "car" vehicle too, and put that down. It's actually not that much faster, currently, than walking. But it's got a LOT of storage space. So good for running around in (as one does) (the one being me) and vacuuming up all the resources he can. You can't scan while in it, bummer, so you have to point yourself at a target and vroom.

No calls again, such luck!

Thurs:
Meeting day, so we had the usual meetings in the afternoon. We're promised a new onedrive build with bug fixes, but no promises about how many, on the 22nd. Not much in the morning, I'm pretty well tested out on the onedrive app we have. I did verify a bug I wrote wasn't a bug, I didn't have the steps right. So silly.

Came back here, checked the door. It's drying fine.

Checked sites, videos, and ate dinner.

More No Man's Sky. Took my car out for a spin. It smashes most everything up if you barely touch it. Huh. And you don't get the resources from it. Still, it is small enough and the place is empty enough it's not much of a problem. I got enough data to buy up all the other vehicles but the submarine. Because really, when is that ever going to come in handy? I guess we'll see.

Got another ship, a solar! Cool. Repair time!

One call, but she wanted me to call back in a half hour. So I did. Her printer was using an IPv6 address for some bizarre reason, so I took care of that. Her display (which we learned is a TV) isn't picking up the laptop. It took like half an hour to figure out what the TV actually was (the remote had no batteries) and what the laptop was. Micro HDMI huh? Interesting. Well, I suggested replacing the cable, that's about all they can do, short of calling Samsung.

Got ready for tomorrow.

What are we looking at coming up? September is half over, just filling you in on that. Maybe I'll do some writing tomorrow, if nothing else comes in. Doing the shopping, and seeing my parents of course.

Then the miracle game.

Saturday I want to;
Put the extra goop on the driveway to use it up.
Paint the now solid doorframe patch gray

Sunday I want to:
More parts printing now that I can do that more quickly. Maybe finish the parts printing this week? Fingers crossed?

That kind of seems like it.

So this is where I leave you for another week. Don't you go anywhere now, I'll see you back here then, you hear?
