Fri:
Tried to load D7.7. Faild. Thanks. Tried it various ways, even upgrading the
machine to D7.6 in the hope the transition from D7.6 to D7.7 would be
smoother. Nope. It just gives me an error message. And to call my
administrator. Sure, I'll just do that shall I? So that testing which I
should have been able to finish today is not getting done at all. Whoops.
Maybe don't make crappy software?
Otherwise some video games. Yes, bringing ye old DS to work. I "legally
aquired" more DS games to load into my "totally legal" cartridge with SD
card slot that lets me play them. Don't tell Nintendo, if they care about a
product this old that is, and I think they don't.
Bank and shopping, saw my parents. Sale is going well according to them, but
didn't sell many plants.
Back here, checked sites.
New build in Tina's with the new character class. Seems to work out just
fine. Everything gives me shields back, so every other shot is a 150% ice
damage amp shot. Unless I do a spell then every shot is an amp shot. Yes
please.
Did some warframe.
Sat:
Thirty five. That's how many small bushes I moved. I hope they all survive
the process. Gave them a nice drink after, and I'll water them tomorrow too.
It was nice out but I was still sweating. Took most of the morning.
There's larger ones back there still. Harder to move them, not sure if I
will or not.
Dug out the tiny, cute fir tree. Couldn't figure out where to put it. Put it
in a pot instead. Maybe my parents will have a place for it. Of course if I
had a battery powered mower instead of the corded model I could put it
anywhere in the back. Oh well.
Ate lunch and checked sites after that.
Then left for game. Met the cute pup!
We got through the adventure, so I have some stuff to write. We beat up
some, uh, really big wolves and found a big diamond.
It's weird, in the game before, everyone was complaining my character had an
AoE spell but this time I made a character that had the tiniest elemental
attack possible so no one could get mad at me for being "too powerful" or
some crap. I took spells to buff the others, or make our opponents worse at
dodging and such. But a quirk in another spell gives it an AoE effect under
certain conditions. And now they're basically begging me to
perform said AoE attack every adventure. Make up your minds, people!!!!! Do
you want me to be "too powerful" or not?
Sun:
More trees. I moved a few of the bigger ones, but left a few too. Found a
few smaller ones I put in the "smol" area. See, on the one side I put the
larger trees, but on the other I put the ones with only a few leaves. That
way the one side looks nice and full of green. As for the others, I don't
know, they're close to berries and I want to see how moving the one biggest
one I did manage to dig out goes. If I'm just going to kill it trying to
move it because the area is saturated with the roots of that leafy stuff and
I can't get them out without damaging them then I'll just leave them or dig
them out and compost them. Watered back there again. I'll do it again later
too.
Checked sites.
Ate lunch.
Tried to figure out my trackball issue. It's the keyboard? I guess? When I
have my little switch plugged in like it was before, keyboard and mouse, (to
use the same keyboard/mouse on the Mac and PC) the trackball messes up. It's
not right. But when I leave the keyboard off it's fine. Is it more power
draw maybe, for the LEDs? It's the only thing I can think of. So I took the
switch out. I'll just have to use the wireless stuff when I help people
remote using the PC. Weird. Games I usually use the controller for, so
that's fine.
Watched the Tolkien edit, or at least part of it. Three moves compressed
into one? Four hours long? Sheesh. But it's well done.
I get many birds on my water hole! Maybe two weeks ago now I noticed that
after that one rain we had that birds were flocking around my upturned
garabage can lid, that I use to catch rainwater for the upstairs plants.
This was reasonable, I decided, because of how little rain we've had lately
water sources must be fairly scarce. So I started putting the dehumidifier
water there, taking yesterday's away every day to dump somewhere on my yard
plants. So everybody wins. Today I noticed a bunch of birds making use of
it, so they really like it being there.
Did some Risk of Rain 2 with the others, we got killed trying to get an
artifact, but it's still a victory. We got Mizzy what she wanted, and
unlocked some logs and such.
Then warframe as they hadn't updated Tina's yet, so we couldn't do the new
content.
Mon:
Loaded up the new machine so we could do another Gabi test, it's the project
that never ends. It took 2 years to finish initially, then I did it in D7.6,
and now I get to test it again. I'll be testing this crappy voice software
forever, it seems. Yay. At least this install didn't brick the machine, so
that's a step in the right direction! But he didn't get me any files, he the
guy in control of Gabi on the other end, so I couldn't test anything.
Had a meeting about the onedrive bugs.
And that was that. Work wise. I finished up the last chapter and wrote the
next one, which finishes up the adventure we had Saturday. I had two ideas,
handing the shield to someone else after casting and putting my power
technology spell on the robot so he can fire his laser continuously. Would
that work?
Got a haul on the way out. 3 big salad, 4 pasta salad, a bunch of chips,
some honey buns, a muffin, some sandwiches, a cheese and crackers.
Not bad. Not bad.
Went to after work guy. Near as I can figure he enabled encryption on his
drive when he put in Win11 because I'm pretty sure I took it off the last
time I was there. He didn't have anything on the machine but it was
suuuuuuper slow. I started the decryption process which went really fast up
to the 3/4 mark where it stayed for more than a half hour. II also managed
an mbam run, it found 13 things so great job "norton" really great work
there. And you pay for this "protection?"
Came home, checked sites, ate dinner. The trees I moved, a lot of them, are
very wilted so I don't know if they'll make it. I hope so. Watered them
again. I watered them this morning too, it was still wet. Pull through guys!
Got ready for tomorrow, one call, the guy just up the road. Something about
a credit card? And his machine not going to sleep. Like I can do something
about that? Well, we'll deliver salads tomorrow and go over there. Easy
peasy.
We did the final mirror run in Tina's and then some No Man's Sky. I was just
wandering around picking up sodium and finding weird alien cubes while the
others had this whole adventure in an underground cave with some kinda
monsters or something. That or they made the whole up because they got lost
and didn't want me to know??? Hard to say.
Tues:
Still no Gabi, my goodness those guys work slow. I tell a lie, he sent the
files at 3:00 so there was no way I was getting started on it that late.
Sorry.
Otherwise had a meeting about the iOS tray errors, still trying to figure
out where the problem lies there.
Won the Mega Man game I was playing.
Made a few changes to the story.
Oh and the developer finally started looking into the D7.7 thing so maybe
we'll get some movement on that tomorrow?
Dropped stuff off at my parent's house.
Then put the credit card number into the guy's phone, it wasn't hard.
Back here I picked small grapes, then had dinner and checked sites.
One call, something about wireless.
Got ready for tomorrow.
Did some No Man's Sky, built a hyperdrive but whoops no fuel.
Wed:
Tested gabi, the service that never dies. He didn't send me any new version
because there is... no new version? We're still on the last version I
tested, what, more than a year ago? Really? There were still some bugs there
you know.
Well, anyway, because the machine only has one tray not 5, and can't do OCR
(for reasons I can't explain?) some changes will need to be made. But it
does work. So I have to give them that.
Otherwise not much else.
Came back here, no after work job. Didn't reach the guy with wi-fi issues
yesterday. Checked sites and videos. Ate dinner, watered plants. Still
hanging on, but some are still wilted. Drink up little ones!
Talked to encryption guy again. Apparently (after 30 minutes of trying) we
determined it did decrypt the drive. And it's still super slow? What the
heck? He doesn't have anything on it! Stupid thing, I bet it is Norton
somehow. He's out of town until next week, so we'll bash it apart then.
Sigh.
Thurs:
Lots of work today, and of course it's meeting day so there was hours of
meetings to sleep through - I mean breathlessly attend to.
We got the D7.7 machine up and running, just putting in today's daily build
did it, I wonder if there really was something wrong with the "official"
build that day. Anyway, with it up and running I could do the bypass tray
test. For the third time. For reasons. It had the same bugs, imagine that.
I also did a versalink sanity test, delete jobs on logout, as we got an
engineering build of that (for one machine) and figured someone might ask
about so even though there was no fixes it too was fine.
Watered the plants.
Then came home. Watered my yard plants, still barely hanging in there.
Checked sites, ate dinner.
Got ready for tomorrow.
One call, he thinks I can help over the phone. I did! Forty five minutes
later. Word was somehow printing an extra sheet with document info, and I
couldn't find where that option was because there are two places where there
are print options. Yes, not one place, which is reasonable, but two. Which
is not, by the way. So thanks for that. And his built in photos app, the MS
one from the app store, wouldn't open despite me doing a reset, and then
uninstalling and reinstalling it. Great! I took it out and just let the old
photo viewer open his jpgs. Honestly, the stupid crap MS allows to happen.
And then there was 45 minutes with Ellen, my favorite. She couldn't show me
her graphics firefox error message and we suddenly had to build a letterhead
for reasons? Why am I being punished?
And didn't reach the guy that emailed me about setting up wi-fi.
So I guess I have nothing for the weekend yet. Having my parents over on
Saturday of course. Don't forget the grapes.
So what's coming? Maybe more D7.7 testing, but honestly not much I can test
is in there. Won't see my parents, but I will do the shopping and we should
do the Miracle game. We left in the middle or actually the beginning of a
fight so we'll take care of that.
Saturday, maybe a little yard work. I won't buy the labor day stuff until
next week.
So that's it. Barely two weeks left in August. Let the dread begin.
See you all next week.
