2022-07-28:

Fri:
Messed up the new versalink machines. Whoops. All I did was try and load a recent software build so I knew that I could. There's no work "soon" for these devices but I had nothing else to do and figured I would get a head start on it. Now they won't boot, just sit at the initial screen forever. Sigh.
Otherwise no real work. I did put lots of plants in pots though. 12 pots were created, so lots of spider plants now have a home. Only used half the dirt, and there's plenty more baby plants where those came from. I'll give them two weeks, then snip them and see if they can survive on their own. That's what seemed to work the last time I did it. Some babies can't be used. The leaves are actually curled around where the roots would be. So I would have to plant it upside down. That's no good.
Worked on chapter 1 of the Emberhaven story. I needed something to do and I forget why I initially wasn't going to write up our adventures in book form. Maybe just because I was writing Midveil? Could be.

Shopping. Saw parents.

Did game. Actually didn't get through it! Not as simple as the last few times have been, we figured out who the Big Bad was and busted down his door, so now combat begins.

Sat:
Messed around with my plants. I have 9 baby althea. And I potted 3 more spider plants, we'll cut them in a few weeks just like the ones at work. Plants everywhere! I just wish I actually could have them anywhere, but my cats would swiftly destroy them. Tinker is besides himself trying to get in there, every time I go into the "plants room" he's right here by the door trying to get in and get to those plants.
Tried my new risk of rain character. No auto aim. Didn't like him. Going back to the bow user, thank you very much.
More of the gravity puzzle game. It just keeps going! Also, how did I go from being dragged into a weird crystal to back in my room like nothing had happened? I don't get it.
More Futurama. I guess they're rebooting it too, seems timely.
Then left for Sean's.
We sort of got through the next adventure? How do you sort of do an adventure? Well, once I was done with all my "let's rent/buy a house" and "I want to make jewelry for Malachite" and "I need to pray for the souls of the bugman I just murdered... and for my own" we were instructed to check up on the lady we've been doing jobs for. The rich lady, who basically runs the merchant's guild around there. The "system" that we would originally be playing under doesn't account for the magic I have at my disposal, or stealth, or really role playing in general. It expected us to kick the door down, fight the zombies, and confront her. But we said "even if this random guard we've talked to is right, the political ramifications of us simply smashing her door down are going to be huge so let's gather evidence and maybe allow the city guard to actually do their own darn jobs for once?" So we basically watched what she was doing from the astral plane, waited until she left, broke into her lockbox, gathered the evidence we needed, and went back to tell the guard. (She is Up To No Good by the way, that much is clear) We didn't kill the zombies or get the treasure. So the game is sort of "locked up" until that's resolved. Whoops!
Watched the next Fast and Furious movie and came home.

Sun:
Did the outside stuff. Warm-ish but not sunny at all. Maybe some rain? Didn't get any until very late at night, but we did get some, so that's good.
Put some berry bushes in pots, don't know how well they'll stay there but maybe they'll take root? It's a good way to make some new plants I think, if my little berry seedlings don't sprout. Of course I could buy more bushes next year. More weed trimming and ate a few berries that were still hanging around out there. Speaking of next year I want to do a project out by the tree in the yard. Right now it's surrounded by yucky weeds. I think I could dig them all out, and put (what else) althea under that tree instead.
Checked sites, videos.
Played a bit of Tina's, looking for a spell. I got a few neat spells but not the one I wanted. I did survive a chaos chamber (at level 2) all by myself so that was pretty nice. I died to the end boss twice, but taking him on myself and winning at all seems like a victory.
Ripped those DVDs I got at good will a couple of weeks ago.

Got ready for tomorrow, and then did some Risk of Rain 2 with the crew. We played for 90 minutes, got into the highest difficulty, and no new character unlocks? What do we have to do, exactly?

Mon:
Forgot to bring more pots, darn it.
Meeting day on a Monday? We needed to give a demo to the security team for our OneDrive stuff. And a meeting with Joe about what we're going to do about having to use a different plug in to make our new versalink feature work.
Looked at the server updates, made sure they were okay.
Otherwise not much else. Wrote chapter 2. Next chapter is the first combat, which will play out differently than how it did in game. For one because I didn't write notes on exactly what happened each turn, and because we can pretend to be a little smarter for this.
Visited Good Will, no goodies this time. I could have picked up an old AppleTV that was really beat up, or an old Apple router but really, did I need them? I don't think they're cool enough to collect at least not in that condition.
Came back here, checked sites, had dinner.
Got ready for tomorrow, made my one call. I may go over there quick after the York thing, he was scammed, let someone on his machine, and now maybe his PIN is changed in windows? How did he even... I don't want to know.

Tues:
Thought I would get a haul today, the guy was working over there before I left. But no. He straightened up the freezer part but it's been strangely empty these past few days. Odd. Nothing in the trash. Sucks.
Had a demo of the D4.0 software for the suppress bypass tray. It was in a daily build so I loaded it up. It has the same bug as the D7.6 code so at least they're consistent. I wrote that up, that took the morning.
Then worked on the combat. Got 1/3 the way through it.
Also got some logs for Joe, he wanted more info on the card reader situation.
Went to york, surprise they aren't ready. I have to go back tomorrow. I did go to lockout guy's house, he was there. Reset his email password (because he didn't know it) and then his PIN.
Came back here, checked sites, had dinner.
Got ready for tomorrow and then did more Risk of Rain 2. I got to the final stage but died to ground lighting. It seems much harder with multiple people, we didn't win it.

Wed:
The freezer got filled up again, but nothing was thrown out. Well, maybe in a week? Very odd.
Not much work wise, answered some questions about things. Looked into the onedrive folders not opening. (we think it's ipv6) Wrote the next chapter. Checked my plants.
After work job happened. The desks and stuff had been moved. It wasn't hard, just tedious. Collecting all the stuff, boxing it up, loading it into my car (it did all fit!) and driving it over there. Only had to set up the main PC and one thin client. The power plugs on that wall don't work. But at least the internet did. I had to run an extension cable up and over the ceiling tiles. Not good, but it's only temporary. They just need to fill their last orders before closing for good.
Got home after 7:00. Yuck.
Made my one call, but she had figured it out. Yay!
Ate dinner, checked sites. Had to turn Sean down, had stuff to do around here I don't think it'll work out tonight.
Got ready for tomorrow.

Thurs:
Meeting day. Our usual SSO meeting had expired, so Joe snuck in there with a meeting. So we had two at the same time. Neato. The SSO didn't go for long, because everyone is on vacation. Wish I could go on vacation. Anyway, we solved (Ken solved) the loading issue by turning off ipv6 so the security team can have at it. Or whatever they do. Then I went back to Joe's meeting about our response to FB. Then the usual 2:00 meeting. Then plants.

Otherwise nothing new software wise. Maybe D7.6 won't happen at all? Very weird stuff going on.
Did the next chapter and part of the next. Maybe I'll be all caught up by the time we play again?

Went out to RIT, found the guy. Couldn't help. His drive was a newer type, no SATA to USB interface inside. It was just a circuit board and a USB 3 connector. I listened to it, it's dead. No spin at all. Sorry!

Came back here, checked sites, had dinner. Got ready for tomorrow, Sean wants to do more Risk of Rain as his usual thurs stuff is not going on.

So we're getting this done. Let's see, tomorrow more writing I expect. Shopping, going to the bank, seeing my parents.
Then back for game.

I'll have my parents over Saturday, probably no jobs, the guy that called (Bishop so and so, such and such church like I cared) said he was free Friday and Monday. Well, it ain't gonna be friday, bishop.

I should cut the front lawn. Do more printing of Sean's gift. Nothing else too exciting around here. My little trees are okay, except for one.

So that's it. That's July. It's all downhill from here. Can you taste the pumpkin spice? I know you can.
