Fri:
A bit more fax stuff.
Another meeting for the upcoming OneDrive thing. This one was with the
security team. I guess because it's a 3ed party creation we want to be extra
careful. So they're scanning the server beforehand and after I put the app
on. Baselines, and all that. Badumma do dma do ma dooma. Little musical joke
for you there.
Did some 3D work, as I didn't want to write the combat here. Got maybe the
first piece of Sean's gift done?
30 minutes at the bank, why is just moving money to the IRA such a hassle?
The first guy couldn't log into the area of his account that does this,
because it's separate for some unknown reason. He tried, talked on the
phone, and finally passed me to someone else. Neat. She did it fine.
Did the shopping.
Saw my parents.
Came back, checked sites.
Called a Mac user, something is going on with his machine I guess. It gave a
memory error? Like it was out of memory? A Mac? That's really bizarre. And
he's in Hilton. Wonderful. Going there tomorrow.
Then miracle game with the others. We took care of it pretty well, I
thought, no one even got hurt though it was a little bit too easy tracking
the guy down.
Sat:
More weeding. Lots of it, like two hours. Sheesh.
Took some trees out and found some berries by the driveway that were just in
the "dirt" made by the leaves and such and not in the actual dirt. Moved
them. Put the trees in pots, I want to make sure they don't wilt. Maybe
we'll remember to sell them at a garden show this year? And hopefully I can
be told when it's coming up so I can get more into pots, so again have a
chance to make sure they stay alive.
Even put some fertilizer down. It's been sitting there 20 years I really
need to get rid of it. It's like a brick, have to chop it up but it applies
easily enough. I just sprinkle it.
Ate lunch.
First ice cream step, heating the mixture and then cooling it.
Cut the lawn in back. It did sort of need it.
Second step ice cream, the freezing step and putting it into my small
containers.
More tales. Only one world left. Which turned out to be a guy I just beat up
over and over to get to level 100.
Went to see iMac guy. Very strange issue with two "macintosh HD." I just
sort of hid one of them. It seems to have been created in 2020 at 3:00 AM.
Also seemingly locked. I can't erase any of the old apps on there. Very odd.
But I didn't see whatever message he was talking about so...
Back here. He called before I was even home. Dude, when I ask if there's
anything else, tell me yes at the time. I'm not driving another hour back
out there. He tried to open his ghost VPN and it just hangs opening. Talk to
them, I guess?
Ate dinner. More Remnant with the others.
Sun:
Finished up tales. I didn't get all the achievements like making 100
weapons, I'm probably 10+ short. It's fine. I got most of them, and we'll
set it aside for now. Maybe someday new game+ will be smashed to pieces. I
mean, a weapon that gets stronger with every enemy killed? Can you even
imagine it?
watched a few movies.
Cleaned the mouse cage.
Talked to iMac guy for 40 minutes. It was his stupid VPN sucking up RAM that
was the problem. But we did figure it out. We removed it. The Mac was trying
its best but the thing was using GB of virtual memory when it was trying to
open.
Got ready for tomorrow, no work! I did make my one call, no answer though.
Played Chap 1 of FF7 remake.
Mon:
Wrote the next chapter. 77,000 words and still plenty to go. The combat
worked out, no problem, and Denice got away with her heist. That took the
morning.
Hot today.
Did some FF7, the new graphics driver has almost fixed the stuttering issue.
I can't find where to get the upgrade to the app itself that reports to
reduce it further. Uh, for reasons. (checked steam, nope not there yet,
sorry SE) Maybe I shouldn't try running it at 60fps. I'll drop it down next
time I play, see if that helps a little.
Checked sites.
A little cleaning up.
Nothing too great today, just relaxing on my day off. Did some actual
reading, of a real actual book.
Did not do Remnant, Mizzy canceled at the last minute, but I did work on a
picture I've been wanting to "trace." Got it done, neat. It's from Control,
of course.
Tues:
Jackpot. I figured there would be plenty of food in there after a 3 day
weekend. I was right. A whole box full. I'll bring some of the breakfast
stuff home (there's enough for the rest of the week), most of the salads
I'll eat at work, and I'll bring more to my parent's house. Crazy. Wish I
had known exactly how much food was getting wasted around here earlier!
Waited for the new software to come in. It was supposedly available but only
certain people (one of whom just left the company!!) has access to it. So we
have to wait for them to download it (from Japan) and then upload it
somewhere we have access to. Takes a while.
In fact it took all day. Yes, it took the lady all day to get us one file.
The first file wasn't big enough. The second one worked. The third one for
another device was only 2MB. Not exactly the full 400 we were expecting. So
we did no testing with the software we can only test for like 4 days total
before it goes to the customer. Yes, our process is screwed, why do you ask?
So instead I finished a chapter, wrote another page of the next one, and did
more 3D work.
Also helped move scrap machines into position so they can be taken away.
Ate salad. Come home.
On the way home I mildly inconvenienced someone. I was, as usual going 55,
you know, the speed limit not that anyone cares. A car pulls up behind me.
He cannot pass because two, yes two cars were to the left. He had to wait,
all of 10 seconds if not less to have them go by, before he could
swerve into the left lane, pull ahead, get into my lane by going in front of
me, pass the two cars while flipping me off, head into the left
lane again, accelerate past a car in the right lane ahead of me, pull in
front of them, and immediately get off at the exit I was getting
off at. Sadly the light wasn't red that really would have put a feather in
the cap of the whole thing. So he was gone by the time I got up the ramp.
It's a quandary I sometimes experience when writing. "Does this behavior go
too far?" "Would a human act in this stupid way?" But the answer, time and
again as experienced by real life is "Yes, a human would act in this stupid
way." You cannot over exaggerate any bad human behavior. You can't do it.
How does this guy's anger at having to obey the law for five seconds, (I say
guy here because I want desperately to believe that a woman wouldn't do this
sort of thing but I know you ladies do stupid stuff too don't think I'm
leaving you out from malice I am not) and drive like a maniac really benefit
him? Does it? Can somehow this individual be living a fuller, richer life of
anger, resentment, and stupidity than I can ever imagine? I can't say how
but it must be rewarding him in some way, right? Does he think my behavior
is going to change because of what he did? Is getting to his destination 10
seconds earlier really worth it? I guess you do you, guy. You be the angry,
frustrated, moron of a person and die of a heart attack at 50. (I got the
video and timed it. From the time he passed me to the time I hit the exit
was 30 seconds. Was that 30 seconds of dodging around 3 cars really worth
it?)
Here's a weed that's doing quite well in front of the building
This weed too is doing his own thing. You go, weed.
Got home, ate ice cream. Checked sites. got ready for tomorrow as I still
have that one person I haven't reached in a few days to call, and Sean does
want to do gaming tonight.
Wed:
Spent the day with the new software. We got access to the place fuji uses
but only if we use the DMZ cable in the lab. Neat. I got the software, and
then Christina realized there was another person that sometimes posted the
software for us, and had done so at 4:00 AM. Sheesh. Oh well, at least we
worked it out.
The software... it's not great. She was having trouble all day, and my test,
well, it pretty much fails in every possible way. It doesn't record in the
audit log like it should. It doesn't upgrade via USB if there's no HD. It
doesn't upgrade from the EIP cloud tool at all. Port 9100 took at least 3
hours and I gave up and went home, it was still going according to the
printer. LPR took like a minute to transfer. Wrote that up too. 5 in all,
and she wrote like 5-6 she said? And that's just 1/2 of the total features
put into the release. And it goes out to customers in... 5 days? Neat.
Oh, I'm losing my 401k at work, and there's really nothing that can replace
it given I already put the maximum per year into my IRA. Neat.
Rained pretty hard.
Came home, checked sites. Finished a movie.
Thurs:
Spent the entire afternoon in meetings. One after another. Onedrive. Then
what to do about AJ leaving. Then the normal status meeting. Then a meeting
about adding fax to copy login. At least that one I got the test cases
mostly done. Added a few more. Stupid, honestly, because that behavior
shouldn't have changed. They're just adding an app. That's all. But
whatever, it all leads into that anyway so it's not like it'll be tough.
Spent the morning writing more bugs and finishing up versalink tests. We
both were doing the multiple realm one at the same time, so that's at least
1/8 tested. I doubt we'll do every model. Wrote up the fact in a certain
configuration it takes 30 seconds longer to log in. That seems unreasonable.
That could just be me though.
Watered the plants and left a half hour late, thanks meetings.
Tomorrow I'll finish up making the test cases they seem to want so badly,
and any other versa stuff that seems important.
What else will I do tomorrow? Going to the bank to ask about rolling my 401k
over I guess. Doing the shopping, seeing my parents and bringing them more
freezer food. I'm still trying to get through the salads I didn't even touch
the sandwiches. And help them move a freezer, and replace my mother's fan.
Hopefully we'll remember.
This saturday will mark the 4th year since I got fiber. Wow. No real plans
for the weekend yet, cutting the front lawn and doing more weeding of
course.
Started Another Sight, a game where you play as a somewhat blind girl and a
cat. Alternately, of course. It's interesting.
So we've begun June. Year is almost half over already. This is the month I
got the Bolt last year, so I've had it a year now. How about that. Sean and
Mizzy's anniversary, and I go to the dentist. Oh and Father's day of course.
Busy month.
And a busy week. See you all next week as our journey into June begins in
earnest.
