2022-04-14:

Fri:
Spent the day testing the new software. Helped Christina a little bit too, we fixed her machine not sending a print job because it was in the wrong "mode" or whatever the PIV vs CAC nonsense is all about. I remembered having that problem when we were transitioning between CAC and PIV for the ID so I was able to save the day with minimal time lost. Thanks, past me, for you great sacrifice.

I got through 3 models, not doing the whole test but just hitting the highlights so I could say it was tested. There's never been an instance of a bug in just one model. Naturally I did a more complete test on the first model, but subsequent models were less well gone over.

Did the shopping, saw my parents.

Came back here, checked sites. Did some Tina's with the others.

Sat:
Did some cleaning, my parents are coming over.
Went out to my first job. Cleanout, but he had a decent machine with an SSD so it didn't take long.
Called my 1:00 she said it was fine to come out so I did. She kept hitting too low on her new phone keyboard, hitting the key under what she was trying to type. I gave her my pen though she really needs to learn to use it without so....
Came back here, had lunch, checked sites.
Back to Tales. I watched a movie on the combat and general information about the game. Apparently you can choose who you actually play as, so I switched over to the magic user. Duh. As I wasn't really getting anywhere fast XP wise I just took the boss on again. Beat him the first time. Neat. And then the game crashed again. Not neat. So I got to beat him again! Still not neat.
Went looking for owls. Found them all in the first level. Have no idea where more could be in the snow level. Found them in the end.
Ate dinner.
More Tails, then my parents came.
Moved my junk to their car. Waved bye to it. Finally have the table back in the breezeway.
Watched Turning Red. So controversial!
Then a bit more Tales and bed.

Sun:
Did the paperwork. 5 clients last month. Raking it in. By it I mean frustration. Did you think I meant money?
Did some finance stuff, haven't balanced ye old checkbook in a bit. Did that.
Ordered Mizzy's birthday gift.
Back to tales. It's pretty funny, this huge dragon thing swooped down on me during a combat and started killing everyone, this is fun. Always love a surprise boss I can't prepare for. My melee characters kept going down and recovery items are terribly expensive and hard to get but I was using them up anyway until finally everybody but the little mage girl I was controlling was dead. So I just decided to heck with it, and wore the thing down with just her. Can you imagine, in that universe, after that battle? Everyone gets up from being "knocked out" or whatever happens when they hit 0 HP because that's how being attacked by a huge dragon works, you just get up afterwords. Anyway, the cute little mage girl, with no armor, is standing there smugly and saying stuff like "gee, all that armor you're carting around doesn't seemed to have helped you very much, huh?" and "Remember the time all the big, burly fighter types almost died to that dragon thing and I, the lowly mage who is still a kid may I remind you, had to save all your butts? Remember that? Oh that's right you don't need to remember it just happened!"
And then it happened again fighting a huge rock monster. Crazy. I think the AI needs to learn to dodge a little bit more. I've got it set if you hit half HP you're supposed to stay away from enemies. I don't know if it's working. My little mage would be insufferable after that. "You guys went down again? You're supposed to be protecting me while I cast spells, it's not supposed to be the other way around. I'm not supposed to be protecting your limp bodies laying in the dirt (how does that taste by the way?) and killing the bad guys on my own. Are you guys really sure you know what you're doing? Because it doesn't seem that way to me."
Got through the forest level, but have yet to enter the next area. 3 of the 5 lords are gone so am I 3/5 of the way through the game? Found all the owls though, got the halo, the devil tail, and the crown. I have two tasks left in that area, both larger creatures to kill. Attempted the one, but died. Have not attempted the other. At this point I think I'll just use the same strategy. Let them all get killed and just take the monster with the little mage girl. Who actually knows how to dodge.
Got ready for tomorrow, no calls, but I did see some snow falling. Nothing stuck around thankfully.

Mon:
Back to testing the print release stuff at work. I had two more machines to test as I figured it. Neither of which would be used for this task, really, because they're not that sort of machine. They're production machines that just sit and print all day, not office type machines that sit idle most of the day. But whatever, still have to make sure the code at least functions.

And it does, what a shock. I thought I had discovered an issue, but we talked it over and decided the way it was working was actually right, though if the UI changed a little to be more consistent that would be better. Oh well. Ship it.

That took most of the day, but I finished up the two models we needed to do, I think Christina needs to do one more? Not sure. Anyway, it's over.

Came back here, checked sites, ate dinner.
Then more Tales.

Tues:
Spent the morning fighting with SHAC cards. No closer to an answer but I have more questions. Like why does the one card we have that should still work not generate any server traffic when I try to log in with it? Things like that.

Didn't do the Gabi demo, she rescheduled for tomorrow.

My RAM order is MIA again. UPS this time. Who is KATHLEEN G***S and why does her name appear on my tracking page? "Met with customer" my butt, this says it was delivered at 2:08, I was at work, you did not deliver it to me, UPS. This is crazy, how has the same item gone missing twice?

Must have lost power today too, my clocks were flashing and my server was off.

Found Kathleen. When I contacted UPS about the loss of my package they came back with an address the package was delivered to. It was just down the street. So I went down there. Crazy, I know right? Very nice lady who said yes she got a package today but not my package.

So, what? This company somehow generated an UPS tracking number that worked out to be an amazon package delivered on the same day I expected my package and not 6 minutes away from me by car? How is that even possible? That's coincidence on a massive scale. I mean think about that for a second.

Two calls today, so I'm going to second work tomorrow. The other call was just a question.

Wed:
Biggest deal at work was just the demo. They were a bit late but we managed to get through it. Let's never do so again.

Otherwise, back to not having too much to do. Looked over some more test cases and sent Christina some questions on them.

Went to my second job. Yipes. Windows wouldn't even try to boot, it would just go into the "attempting repair" which everyone knows is useless. I had to get his stuff off, and reload it. Haven't done that for a bit. Got home at 7:20 or so. Yuck.

Only one call, a guy from yesterday that called after 9:00, and his machine was fine so nothing for tomorrow, thank goodness.

Checked sites, ate dinner.

Thurs:
Not much at work today. I had the usual afternoon meeting, the morning one was canceled.
I did a scan test that didn't take too long for Don, just making sure if you log out an email job continued.
Watered the plants.
And did more reading.

Came back here, checked sites, ate dinner. Played more Tales. I'm on a boat!

No calls, or at least no calls of substance a person I just worked for called but hung up. Huh.

So let's look to the future. Tomorrow I'll do the usual stuff I suppose. Then shopping, no bank, and seeing my parents.
I'll be getting a PC to look at from them, so I'll do that saturday. We are doing game this week I believe it hasn't been called off yet so...

Then Saturday is the Pyre game, not much else currently. Sunday is Easter, so I'll see the family. And that's the weekend.

It's finally nicer out, and I see lots of tiny leaves on bushes. Maybe snow is finally behind us.
