Fri:
Work went fine, got some new cards in, so we messed around with them. Putting them up on the server, making sure they work, making the labels. That sort of thing.
I read over the test plan for Monday, should be no trouble. Set up one machine for the test, the one in my lab. We have to use specific machines because there's a code created for the machine using the serial number as part of the test. It's an odd scheme, the only organizations using this kind of card would be government, high security places. Are we really that paranoid about them turning it on for more machines than they paid for?
More thinking about book, not easy to come up with stuff.
Snowy.
Did the shopping, saw my parents.
Came back, got laptop so I set that up quick. Why does the ethernet port not seem to work? It does have an M.2 style drive so that's good. Also spot for a 2.5" drive, so I'll be able to just install her old drive and copy it off that way. Should save me some time. Ethernet port works, must have just been loose.
Tried to clear the driveway, the belt is still coming off. Didn't get even one row the last time, so I gave up. I'll have to see what I can do with it, I can't keep stopping every half a row. Shoveling sucks, by the way. Let's hope no more snow this year?
Checked sites, got ready for game.
We did game. Figured out what was behind the attack on the field trip students, and are heading down to take care of the boss. Possibly more people to rescue down there too.

Sat:
Very busy day. Looked at the snow blower, still can't figure out why the belt keeps slipping.
Took off the gear, I'll show it to my father though it looks fine to me. What else is there? I guess it can be replaced but if that doesn't work is there no other hope? The belt seems to come off that side of things not the smaller pulley and running it without the side panel shows it vibrates a little but nothing I would say was all that bad. It's so odd.
Went to see itunes guy, got his music downloaded (well it wasn't music it was some kind of talk) and he removed some stuff in iTunes. Went over a few other things, like getting his dropbox signed in. No problems there.
Then had lunch, and having gotten a few calls and not wanting to work Sunday I went out again. Forgot my phone.
This was Lenovo guy, he got a dell that's just as pathetic as the lenovo. It has a laptop drive. A 7200 one to be "fair" but still crap. Why are we even still making those?
Got that all transferred, got to Sean's just a touch early. Timed it well. We figured out how to kill the guy we didn't grab remotely, and sent evidence to the tuatha through other channels. Apparently he wasn't the head guy, just a head guy of a remote office. That wasn't exactly clear before and had it been made clear I think the whole thing would have gone down differently. Strange that a failed luck check set into motion the fact we had to get creative and actually off the guy instead of just grabbing him (as the plot actually required). Weird. Everyone is acting like it's over, but really, would it be that point? We haven't really solved the complete mystery of who was behind the attacks, unless it really was that guy but I don't think it was. In truth we would have to keep digging as "fomorian leadership" is still too vague for my liking. Was it all of them? One of them? We don't have any names so really the job isn't done. We're talking about taking it in a new direction or starting something new entirely, so the book will have to diverge here and go back to my own plot ideas. I would have the group pursue the actual ones behind it, like I said, so the setup that's been done thus far is still valid.
Watched a few Get Smart episodes and came home.

Sun:
Downloaded tax forms from the various investment places so I can be ready when the time (which is swiftly approaching) comes. Time to get swifty in here! Wait that's a different thing.
Sewed the buttons on better on the jacket, one of them had fallen off. I'm just glad I saw it when it did. The others were still on but hanging on by a thread, as it were. They're mostly decorative but the one that fell off holds the hood on, so yeah, didn't want to lose that one.
Checked sites.
Watched Arrested Development. Finished it.
Made my calls, I have the next two days booked. A lady who can't boot her machine and someone that was scammed that wants me to look it over.
Got ready for tomorrow, the last day of Feb.

Mon:
Got the new software in for the plugin removal feature so we started loading and testing that. Basically took all day, but we got it done. Only bugs are some strings are wrong, like there's no 05 in the list between 03 and 06 so there should be no 06 but there should be an 05. And the selection should be in all caps and it isn't. There was no functionality problem.

Lady whose machine wouldn't turn on turned on before I got there. I rebooted it 3 times to make sure. Looked at her security system, and moved some mail around. No issues.

Came back here, checked sites, ate dinner. Did my sales tax paperwork and sent them the money. Enjoy it, it'll run the local government for 10 seconds. Neat. Hope it helps.

No calls, but I called the lady I got the laptop for. She does want Wed.

Tues:
Back to not having much to do at work. With the short cycle this time and getting all the machines done there was some back and forth by others if we should insist they fix the string issues, but my part was done.

Instead I worked on the monster diary as I had new content for it. Though as it seems we're moving to a different game entirely and the book is only half as long as I want I'll have to come up with some new stuff myself. Not a problem.

Went to see the scammed lady. A windows 7 laptop with a spinning rust drive. Yes, it was as slow as you imagine. But I don't think anything was wrong. McAfee was acting up and had to be manually removed and there was some old stuff to get rid of, but it was fine.

Came back here, checked sites, had dinner. No calls, so that was fine.

Did some warframe, it's been awhile.

Wed:
Our meeting with the team for the id card copy didn't happen, I guess there was a conflict or something I was there. But the main people were not so now it's friday.

Otherwise I worked on the new character for the emberhaven game, and even put together a Lysanias who really isn't? Lysanias is supposed to go out into the world and learn a bunch of stuff, but this version of him spent all his skill points and has 50 or so skills. Not sure if it's the same thing.

Finished the chapter of the Tayna story, in my timeline the guy didn't die so I could have them meet and get the next clue they needed. Have no idea where it's going from here though. I lost Killian so maybe I'll get back in touch with Herman, he could come on back.

Delivered the laptop. It was running an SSD so I'm not sure why she said it was slow. Was it not doing TRIM? Anyway, as the new one could accept he drive I just popped it in. No problem, transferred stuff quickly enough. Downloaded her quicken, though I think she's being scammed and may have a rude awakening in about 30 days.

Came back here, no calls tonight so checked sites, and watched some Supergirl.

Got a card from Cevrolet about "regular maintenance" for my Spark. They know it's a spark, this comes up later. The first coupon they offer? A 6-quart oil change. Uh, dudes, you know it's a spark but you don't know it doesn't use oil? Not building my trust here fellows.

Thurs:
Got a scam email from "norton" and here is one of the lines: "At Norton Symantec Corporation we believe in execution and healthy relationship with our users."So wait, they believe in execution? Sounds rather harsh. Also the phone number had a bunch of slashes in it, not dashes. So stupid. Who comes up with this stuff, and how did I get on their list?

Meeting day, nothing new came in. Wrote the next chapter, haven't quite made it to the guy they're just heading into the casino so that will be the next chapter. I think I know what the next chapter will be too, so that's good.

The next versalink release, that to be fair isn't coming for like 2 months, has 5 things in it. Not going to be fun to test.
We talked about that in the meeting.

Did the plants, nothing else exciting.

Came home, as no after work job today. Checked sites, ate dinner. Then more Supergirl.

Looking at what's ahead I will go to the bank tomorrow, go shopping, and see my parents. Then back for game, we will hopefully close up the portal to the demon world and seek another.

Nothing much planned for the weekend at this point, I'll have my parents over for movie night. It might even get up to the 60s soon. Neat. So that's about it. The third month begins. See you next week.
