2021-10-28:

Fri:
Not much work. Did a chapter though, it's going to be a two parter. They're wandering around the forest and running into coworkers that have been "infected" with the greed magic that now permeates the area. Because they rushed in, of course. Our heroes have protection because they actually said "wait what's going on in there" and so now have to deal with the situation. It's turning into a two chapter resolution, which is fine.
Usual stuff still during the day. Got groceries, cat treats, (there were 7 cute kitten in the waiting area, I want them all!!) a router in case iMac guy didn't get the one I said. Then saw my parents.
Then game. Fairly amusing, when all the people that rushed ahead with their "oh I can fly" power got turned into stone. But me, who was saying to oneself "perhaps some caution is called for" did not and had to save everyone. I mean someone else at the school could have done it, had it been a total party kill, but I was already right there. Had to exhaust myself twice to get the job done, thanks opposed checks! You're all welcome. It is interesting that being turned to stone doesn't kill one, as Heaven is a place in that universe, and everyone came out of it fine. Even the mayor and the two hairdressers, who had been stone for a year. So their soul just stayed there, I guess? Weird. What if they had never been found, would they have not gone to Heaven ever? That doesn't seem fair. The other weird thing is the parallel between what I had just written that day and what happened in game. The cautious people save the day, the brash ones are sitting there stuck or doing wrong for the party. (Oh, there was an amusing moment, when they got turned to stone Jon played the "something out of the blue happens" card and as they were in the air, Sean had their statue bodies smash into the things turning them into stone, pinning them down. It worked out.)

Sat:
Did a bit of cleaning up, nothing too crazy my parents aren't coming over. I'm going to Sean's for some Alien movies, that he thinks he loaned me on VHS at one time but I think, "na uh!"
Checked sites.
Went over to see the lady about moving to thunderbird. She too was all in on folders, she had a huge list of them. Once again cursed the people at the Thunderbird Corp or whatever they call themselves that can't come up with a way to import them automatically. It can't be that hard, they're right there. Anyway, got it done so hopefully another Window Live Mail installation will go unused.
Then over to Sean's for the movie night. The lady had said I could come early so I got there earlier and we could watch all three. Odd reactions from everyone finding a crashed alien ship, which no one at that time would have expected. They were all "oh, that's interesting, let's just go aboard for reasons" and not "OMG OTHER INTELLIGENT LIFE IN THE UNIVERSE WE JUST MADE THE MOST IMPORTANT DISCOVERY IN THE HISTORY OF HUMAN KIND" so...

Sun:

Checked sites, then went out to the 10:00 as I had woken up a bit early.
That one went fine, she hardly had anything to transfer. It was a very apple PC. It had only 3 USB-C type ports, an SD card slot, though it included an adapter for HDMI and USB-A. Apple included HDMI on the laptop itself and includes no USB-A ports. What do they have against USB-A anyway? Had pretty good speakers and display too.
Oh yeah, first use of Win11 too. It was doing some odd things, but it was windows so whatever. Like I would select a group of icons to move, right? When I did this, sometimes the grouping showed with the mouse in the upper left corner of the grouping. Sometimes it was at the bottom, center. I had to carefully check where the mouse was in relation to the "stack" because I couldn't say for certain where it would be. So sometimes I would let go and it wouldn't move the files. What? Oh, it's off center for this one. Why? Also docs, downloads, etc. all moved in correctly, but the music folder kept wating to move only shortcuts into the music folder. What? I had to hold a modifier key to make them move. So bizarre.
My 2:00 called he could do earlier, so after lunch I went out there. His original iMac was indeed dead! Sad. But his time machine drive was not. Yay! Got him all set up. Put the adapter for USB-A he got on his hub, so he could use his old (and better, in my opinion) Mac keyboard with the number pad. Also his printer, and the time machine drive. I think the hub is USB 2 so it'll slow the drive down, which had a blue plug. Oh well, he's not adding that much stuff. Shame about the iMac though, I was hoping trying a new plug or something (or cable) would bring it back. Not so much. Wonder if it's worth taking it to Apple to fix?
Came back, baked bread with the zuchini I got. Didn't even use half of it so I'll have bread to make in the future too. Came out okay.
Watched a 2 hour video on FF7 remake, which explained the story a bit. Interesting take, wonder if I'll ever be able to actually play the game. Square, I'm looking at you.
Got ready for tomorrow.
Talked to lady for 50 minute, I'm going over there tomorrow anyway. It's keyboard lady, she just can't handle putting it in. Whatever. Also she's trying to upload .mov files to etsy and it's telling her it's the wrong format. Huh. Odd. Her internet connection was crap, so most of the 50 minutes was waiting around. Always fun. I finally said "this is getting us nowhere, I have better things to do, see you tomorrow." So I'll take a look at that too. Didn't get any other calls over the weekend, so that's Monday Robert's problem.

Mon:
Oh, how quickly it came.
Did the server check at work. The 23rd being a Saturday, and all. So that's done for the month.
Sent Christina some logs, which I had already sent. Sigh.
Emailed my contact at A+ about the move to the new bank and to please change my direct deposit to the new number. Didn't hear back. Thanks lady. This is your entire job you know? Supporting me? You have no other purpose because your company has no purpose but to take money away from me. So please do what I ask, when I ask you to do it.

Otherwise nothing new came in. Got the next chapter written, she got through the forest. On to the cave with her parents, need to figure out what kind of confrontation I want to have.

Came back here. Checked sites. Videos. Spent 20 minutes on the phone with the lady down the street about Thunderbird. And basic clicking and dragging.

Watched the movie Sean gave me. Why does the predator spend time killing helpless humans that mean him no harm instead of aliens, that do? It's so weird.

Tues:
Happy 6 year anniversary! Did anyone notice or say anything? Such as my boss? NO why would he?

Bet you can guess what the majority of this report is going to be. Yup, didn't get anything new in. I did investigate two things. If a certain feature worked on an 8100 machine and setting up an IPP printer in windows. Good stuff. Christina also said she had a machine with 7.6 on it, which I took a look at. It has... a different color! Whooooooooo. I think it uses a different font too, and may be snappier? Hard to say. Why we needed this color change is beyond me, apart from "we need something to change" but whatever, Xerox. You do you.

Wrote the next chapter. Not the last chapter, the talky mouth flaps of the demon, Jesse, and her big bro had to do the word spew before the big punch up. But now I can write the punch up. That should be the last chapter. Tried to structure it sort of like the last battle in Control. I thought about doing a maze level, but wasn't sure how to write it. Hopefully this will suffice. I'll have her defending herself while she tries to destroy some crystals keeping her parents prisoner, then the other two people with her (but in the previous dimension) can lend a hand.

Got home, no job today. Checked sites, videos.

One call, probably needs an SSD, but he has two machines so I'll go over there tomorrow and see what's up.

No games with Sean? Odd. Oh, there is. It kept crashing on us. So we switched to Warframe for a bit, got some "mother" tokens.

Wed:
Finished up some test cases today at work. They're for the revised feature that maybe we get right this time? Who can say? Christina got the VBS from Ted and wanted my opinion. I said it was fine, send that to HCL or whoever we shouldn't be giving our test cases to anyway because they should be writing to the spec and not our tests. But it was fine because then I updated my own test cases which include more stuff. So there. I went looking for the spec, and someone had overwritten it with a different spec. So well done. Ted sent me the right one. Sillies.

Otherwise, finished the last chapter, the epic battle with Jesse vs. Thahiss, her brother, and a few witches. She survived without a scratch, which is good because any damage will kill you dead. Wrote the epilog so I just have to read it over. Have the next book in mind but of course need more details so there. Don't know if it'll still be her or another character + her or what.

Went to see guy with two machines. His one machine barely had anything on it, only 1 thing found by mbam, I couldn't figure it out because yes, it's windows and yes, it's slow but it shouldn't have been as slow as it was. Drawing off recent experience I looked, and yup encryption had been turned on. Neat. How did that happen? So I left it decrypting and that should solve his speed issue. I hope, there's not much else it could be at this point. It's a 5400RPM drive but it's also 1TB so it's pretty dense.

Came back here, checked sites, videos, ate dinner.

Only one call, guy down the street wants to know about doing eBay stuff. Me doing it, to be specific. I told him maybe if it was really good stuff it would be worth the hassle. He says he has old toys, which could be anything. I mean my transformers collection is "old toys" at this point. I mean let's be real here! Maybe I'll hand it off to my mother, if it really is good stuff she can take the percentage.

Thurs:
Meeting day. That was the big news for today. Emailed the lady who is supposedly my contact for A+ as I have yet to get a reply that she changed my bank stuff for the credit union move. (At home I checked the account info again just to be sure, and noticed I am a "Employment Category Part Time" which is amazing. Oh, and it's not done sooooooo)

Started the proofread, got to chapter 14. Checked the plants, found some paper bags and a picture frame in the trash. Also some bagels just left out so "I made them mine." Pretty good, but who ever heard of a glazed bagel? Weird.

Went to good will, got a few more things for the game, and a unicorn for me. Had to go on the overflow shelf though. Also went and got some shampoo. Why is it 10oz less now? I didn't buy the previous one that long ago, did I? I didn't think I did. Odd.

Home to sites, videos, and getting ready for tomorrow. No calls! Yay!

So tomorrow will come,  let's finish the proofread? Get groceries, probably won't go to the bank still, but will see my parents.

Then home, I think we're doing game but not 100% sure. Then Saturday I go over there for the monster game. Will we get anywhere? Signs point to no!

No leaves have really come down, so there's not that to do yet. Getting colder though. Oh, and it's going to rain the next three days. So that's a thing.

Another thing is this post being over. Think I'll play some NiNo and then head to bedtimes. See you in the second to last month everyone. BTW there's only about 60 days left in the year. Yeah, think about that. Crazy.
