2021-06-18:
Fri:
Only one work related thing, another meeting about these apps we're supposed
to provide support for, or whatever we're doing.
Finished the chapter.
Still no cert for the voice stuff, we have a meeting with him Monday.
Got gas, got groceries, no cat food? Not a good sign. I still have plenty,
it's no cause for concern yet, but it is odd to see. I mean they never have
all that much, and they had some tiny cans, but it goes on too long like
this and it's going to be a real problem.
Saw my parents, came back here.
Took delivery of the 4TB HD for the camera guy, so I get to go over there at
some point.
Did game. Until way too late, 2:00AM or so. But we got through the main
adventure, and up to the fight. Huh, seems familiar to when I run game.
Sat:
Woke up pretty early, considering. Odd.
Did a little cleaning, checked sites. My parents are going to come for a
movie tonight.
Went to the post office, get a package that had postage due. It was just a
tiny USB drive, and newegg or whatever company actually sold it charged me
.78 for postage. They put that amount on the envelope, and shipped it. When
it got to me the post office was like, yeah, you owe us $4.00. So thanks,
newegg or whoever.
Went to put in drive, he didn't have the password, but I managed to format
it anyway. When I tried to do it from the physical unit I had to log in, and
of course he didn't know what his own password for his own camera unit
was. Why would he? He only came up with it and had to type it. But
did he think to, I don't know, write it someplace? No, that would be logical
and thus, out of the range of possibilty. But the PC app didn't require it.
Odd. You would think it was the other way around. I mean if I'm standing at
the unit... I guess if I found the unit after breaking in, they wouldn't
want me formatting it. So I guess I take that part back. But still, allowing
me to do it over the app is odd. Maybe it remembered the password from
before?
Came back, lunch and sites.
Did some reading. Watched some things until my parents arrived.
Sun:
Sites and movies as usual in the morning. Slept later than yesterday.
Lawn.
Thought about my character skills, now that I had more than two minutes.
Watched some stuff.
Still a lot of people driving past the house next door. Sheesh.
Did some reading, finished the book I was reading. Started another.
Got ready for tomorrow. 100% of people back, supposedly.
Watched videos about best practices for D&D combat, which mostly will
translate to our fight with the angels. We can't overpower them, we've only
been training with weapons for three weeks. But maybe we can still win? I'm
not confident, I can in theory be killed in one hit. But I have a 1/3 chance
of hitting them, and a 1/12 chance of killing them in one shot. So who has
the greater chance to win? They do. By a long shot.
Did some warframe.
Mon:
Only work thing of interest is getting the cert for the voice system. We put
it in, and.... it still doesn't work. The printer can't connect to it! Nice.
Worked on the book a little, of course. Thought about writing up the
adventures of the twins, but Sean wouldn't want spoilers for the adventure
before people play it, so really that's out.
Set up a new system, went fine, he didn't have much to copy.
came back, checked sites, ate dinner. Talked to a guy with two antiviruses
and finally got him straight after almost an hour.
Got ready for bed and did warframe, no Adam games I guess.
Tues:
In the morning I got a new update for the voice system. I was originally
pleased, I was allowed to connect to the box and it showed the correct
screen. I thought perhaps I could get back to testing it.
Nope.
We're back to it not letting me log in anymore. I checked the cert stuff
that was the problem last time, but no luck. Of course the email came "is
there a timeframe and do you know why this is happening?" Uh, it's been a
year and a half, of course there's no timeframe. Do you know how these
people work?
Anyway, that's the only real work stuff I managed to do. Nothing else is
ready yet.
Finished the next chapter, and started another.
Went to second job, just some minor stuff like plugging his sound bar into
his TV and changing the inks in the printer.
Came back here, checked sites, watched videos. No calls.
Did some warframe though.
Wed:
The most exciting thing about work today was leaving it for the dentist. I
was fine, but there is some decay under a filling. It's a bummer, I mean you
have decay on a tooth and that's sorta your fault. But under a filling? How
am I supposed to avoid that? I drink one soda a week, I don't eat candy
(except in October) and I do everything else I'm supposed to. Sigh.
Forgot to tell them I have dental insurance now. Whoops. Maybe that would
have cut the cost of my X-Rays? Sigh.
Otherwise, I wrote a bug on the scan thing, and verified some bugs were
fixed/not fixed. Yay.
Thought I had a lead on a Series X but no such luck.
Came back home, checked sites, watched the latest episode of Loki, and did
warframe. No calls today.
Thurs:
Most exciting thing today was the doughnut. Oh, and what didn't happen. With
Joe gone we didn't have the morning meeting, and with everyone supposedly
back I didn't water the plants.
I'll keep an eye on them, of course, see if any are not getting watered. But
after the afternoon meeting I just did, uh, work stuff. Yeah.
Managed two chapters today, or at least most of two chapters. Looks like
it'll be a short story, maybe the "diary" will be a collection of three
stories? Don't know.
Otherwise helped Don a little bit, made sure the latest software didn't have
something to test in it (it didn't) and that was that.
Went over to spacebar guy, found him this time, took 30 seconds to take the
key off, snap the little metal piece on, and put it back. So stupid.
Came back here, sites, videos, and dinner. No calls, got ready for tomorrow.
Let's look to the future. Going to be hard at work tomorrow, doing all sorts
of work things. All sorts, which I will tell you about in the next video.
Getting gas, getting food, and seeing my parents should also happen. Then
home to do game, finish up the battle with the angels, and complain a bunch.
Yes, I have a whole list written up. It will be glorious.
As a note I try not to complain too much in game since I started running
games because now I know sometimes there is information the gamers don't
know about the world or that they've missed or that has been deliberately
mislead or simply for the sake of the narrative but this is to
test a module for the Demongate High setting so I feel it may be something
other players may bring up and thus should be addressed.
Then Saturday I'm putting the RAM in, then straight over to Sean's to do the
"future" part of the monster adventure.
Then Sunday to the zoo for Father's day. We'll have to do a movie and
lunch/dinner at some point, but not next week as they'll be away. But soon.
So there.
So that's the end of this week. June is going pretty fast, There's only a
week and a half left, then it's time for the 4th. Wow. Such Month. Speed.
Hope it's been good for you, I'll see you back here next time.
