Fri:
Fairly rainy day today. I don't think we're in a drought anymore.
Nothing work wise. No news on the versalink front on getting a new version or not as we didn't find anything with the first build. Nothing from the voice people (surprise, surprise) and everything else is listed for the future.
Got groceries, saw my parents, but not all their kitties.
Turned out I didn't have to run game, Jon had to do work. So we canceled a few hours earlier.
2 calls when I got back, guess that's about right. If you get one, you're more likely to get another, is my observation of reality. Checked sites and the usual videos.
Figured I would make the two calls. Spent a half hour on the phone with a lady to discover her problem.
Was nothing. Yes, her machine booted just fine (slowly) zoom was right there, she had no issues at all. Fun! Thanks for wasting my time, lady.
The second person also had... no issues! Neat. Guess I get to stay home after all tomorrow.
Warframe, but not with Sean. Tried to get more cores and a few parts.

Sat:
Jumped up out of bed and it was rainy and wet out. No cutting the lawn today I guess. But I did pick up the sticks and plant the catnip.
What was left of it anyway. At least some survived, that's the important thing. Grow little ones! Harvested the dead leaves.

Did some warframe, really wish some planets didn't have this stupid day/night cycle where some enemies only come out at night. I mean, really? Nocturnal monsters? It forces me to play the game on it's schedule, not mine. And that's not good design, no matter what anyone tells you.
Watched more Myst video, it's going slowly but at the same time that grumpy guy that did the analysis of Dark Souls did it better, so get on with it.
Did game at 4:00, didn't get through the adventure. We may have made it to the adventure? Hard to say.

Sun:
Went over to see my mother and went to the flea market. I didn't get anything. I could have gotten a whole box of broken Xbox 360s, a stack of old Atari games, a huge plush dragon (where would I put it??) and a very nice picture of three ostriches one in sunglasses. But I held myself back. Heather found one bag of mostly fake ponies. Why no pony stuff? Saw other toys, but not that. Weird. Did find a penny though. So I consider that coming out ahead. And a tail.
No cheese either, it was closed on Sundays. Gurr.
Saw the kitten at Heather's.
Came back here.
Checked sites, had dinner, more myst videos of course.
Got ready for tomorrow.
Warframe. Got more of the cores at "night" that I needed. At least that's all it takes to rank up in this faction. It's actually the most straightforward, rather refreshing.

Mon:
The big deal for today was working on the Kevin task to find out about DDNS. Which is impossible to look up, because of the other DDNS that exists that you get articles for instead. Thanks, people that name things!
Anyway, I just decided with nothing to go on, let's just do an experiment and say "is that what you wanted?" because hey, it worked for Bell right? So I moved a machine to the other lab (a small one) (I mean a small machine not a small lab it's the same size) to see what happened. Then I moved the versalink machine we were trying to test. The same thing happened! Neat! Test over, right? Well, no. He said that was one of two scenarios so do this other test as well. So I did. And that didn't work the same way. Boo! So I think it failed, but I didn't hear back after the "here's what happened" email.

Otherwise, worked on a chapter, and got part way through another. I figure in the balloon it would take 20 days for the dragons to pull them all the way across the continent, and I want to see if something else should happen or they just find the token. Not sure. I'll think about it.

Came back here, cut the front lawn as the rain held off (it started to drip) but then the sun came out. Catnip is still doing good out there.

Checked sites, had one call so I made that. Printer lady with the IP address thing.

No game, Sean was grading. Did some warframe on my own.

Tues:
Only one work thing, loading the latest D4.0 and checking that I could do a scan to home. I could. After checking a checkbox, that is.
Something must be wrong with their server.

Otherwise just writing, got the next chapter done. Shouldn't be too many more, I don't think. I got the token, that gets him the armor, now he just has to "level up" more and sail to the dragonlord's castle.

Came back here as the lady that keeps canceling on me said she tested positive for Covid. Neat. I suppose I would have been fine as I'm fully vaccinated at this point but best not to chance it. Variants and all that. Said she wasn't feeling well, so we put it off another week. Wow, to have avoided it more than a year and to get it now. Sheesh. I guess we've learned nothing.

Worked on my controller, because I got the parts from China. The one directional doesn't work I'm afraid, or really it works too well. I had taken the new directional off so I didn't have to unsolder the old ones. I guess I'll have to do it. Oh well.

It was night in warframe so I got more cores, turned some in because he just won't accept too many at one time. He wants them, for "reasons" but only some of them, some of the time. Sure, makes sense.

Checked sites, called the lady from yesterday, still no answer. Got ready for tomorrow.

Wed:
Not much going on at work. Helped Christina with a two minute test, just logging in as myself to see if she was logged out properly. She wasn't, so the bug in 2.9 exists in the other platforms as well.
Nothing on the voice front, still don't have an answer if versalink is getting another build, oh but I did close the test task about the DDNS stuff.

Wrote another chapter and part of the next. How do you kill a huge dragon, really? Who can do magic himself? Good question.

Came back here, put in a battery for guy, and checked my sites. Watched some myst videos, I would not have been able to do those puzzles.

Thurs:
Today, on the other hand, quite busy at work. It was meeting day, of course, but there was an additional bonus. Because of the India lockdown (Hey, it isn't just our leadership that is terrible! Wait, should that make me feel better or worse?) they're not in the office so we have to do more testing than normal. So while it's not an official release, we're testing some new scan enhancements. It mostly works. It's annoying to use, and it doesn't look right according to the VBS, and there are some odd things that happen. I wrote up 4-5 things I forget the exact number before the 2:30 meeting and plant watering. I'll write more tomorrow I think, there were some notes I made that I can look over to see if anything else serious jumps out at me.

So that's what I'll do partly tomorrow as well. I doubt it will take the whole day, I got the feature tested pretty well. It's not that many additions.

Went shopping. I was out of tortilla shells at last, with one day to go. If I had one more, I would have been fine. But I did not. So I went shopping. It just occurred to me no parents tomorrow, so I'll be able to go over there and get home early.

So let's look at the future. No calls today so hopefully no jobs the coming weekend. What will I be doing?

Need to do last month's paperwork.
Need to cut the back lawn.
Need to move some berry bushes that are coming back from the neighbor's fence. I'm not risking them now that I know they're still alive. I'll find someplace for them over on my side.
Finally start Mizzy's christmas gift? I've had a note about it for like two weeks now. At least decide what it's going to be for goodness sake. I only have 7 months, what is wrong with me?
Finish that soldering job? I got the new parts, replaced them, one directional didn't work, so I was going to replace it. Marked it. Left it. When I went to finish it I ignored the mark, did the wrong one. Realized it. Got frustrated. Tried to do the right one. Screwed it up. So I'm not sure if I can even finish it now. We'll see I guess?

But that's the weekend. Tomorrow I'll do the scan bugs, if any. Any extra testing I think is worthwhile. Dropping stuff off and coming home. Running the battle and possibly part of the next adventure. No Saturday adventure for another two weeks.
