2021-04-01:

Fri:
Got ready for my long drive in the rain. It really poured.
Lots of tree branches down. Ick. I'll have some cleanup to do when spring really comes. One big branch hit the wires, didn't seem to damage them thank goodness, that would have been annoying.
Got out to my victor job, uh, she wasn't there. But she pulled up right away. 10.9? Ugh. Upgraded, didn't take too long so she could use the scanner. Just about an hour. She had the installer downloaded already, that saved me some time. Had to use the date trick to get past the "this installer is damage" crap, had to turn the wireless off because the installer set the time again and then gave me some other stupid error. Enough with the certs, Apple! It's not helping, how would any normal person have known to do any of this? Do you want people to upgrade or not? ComeOn!
Back here, ate lunch. Finished book.
Out for printhead install. Installed print head.
Printer still doesn't work. Neat. It just prints blank pages. I love you so much, inkjet. Kodak inkjet in this case, which as we all know really lasted a long time. What does Kodak even make these days? Do they still make cameras?
Back here.
Messed about until it was time to leave again.
Went to good will. Nothing great. There is a PS3 for $40.00. Thought about it, and it's a fair price according to ebay. Huh, maybe I should have got it just so my sister could sell it. I'm a bad person.
Saw my parents.
Came back here.
Did sites, videos.
Having knocked the stuff off my new shelf for the third time I moved it. To my room. Moved some books around too. Moved my desk to accommodate it, and it fits great. I pulled some books forward so it still seems like I have full shelves, but I really did make room for more books, honest.
Did some warframe in the evening.

Sat:
Went out for my 10:00, just one laptop not two. She was moving stuff in her house around. No real issues, could use an SSD though. But then, that's always true. Welllll I say always, but SATA II machines we found out (the hard way) don't benefit much. Stupid ancient stuff, go away already.
Back here, sites.
Lunch.
Watched some movies I had been meaning to watch a long time now.
Then some Warframe. All my story quests but one are single player. Thanks. And the one that isn't is some sort of hunt for a specific type of enemy to use space magic (I guess?) to change the front of some urn to open it. Weird?

Sun:
Checked sites.
Put the PC together as I had gotten the case and SSD yesterday. Looks like it survived the process. Put Win7 on there so it could be "licensed" and got to use the wonderful windows activation phone center once again! Yay! Put Win10 on it. I did debate leaving it a hackintosh but really, what am I going to do with a 10.6 machine at this point? Not very useful, but a new PC might be. That took until after lunch actually. Of course I was watching videos and reading and such in between that.
Watched more movies.
Did some usual Sunday stuff.
Made my calls. Booked tomorrow with an iMac setup, apparently they've had it sitting around? Wish I could by a thousand dollar or more machine and just let it sit there. (looks at 3D printer, coughs nervously.) Never mind. Anyway, spent a half hour looking at stupid windows live mail, of course we don't know our passwords, the automatic system didn't work, and he doesn't know if it's a sub account. Great. Just great. He did finally get his password and I remade the account. I just tossed the windows live mail folder out (huh, I think I left it on his desktop and forgot to put it in the recycle bin. Whoops) which made me put in the account settings again. They were right before, but live mail was just giving me "unknown errors" which is always helpful. Keep putting in those "unknown errors" programmers, we out here using your products just love that to pieces. Honest! Ask anyone.
Booked Tuesday for an SSD install. Good thing I got more in, eh?
Got ready for tomorrow, it's back to work! What's work? How do I go there? What do I do when I'm there? Huh, well, I'm sure it'll come back to me.

Mon:
Strangely, seems like nothing had changed. Went through my email and such. No new release yet, so we're back to not having much to do. That should change this week though.
But I speak too soon. I got an email that the pre-release was approved so I downloaded it. I thought I would have something to do today after all. But my jubulation, such as it was, turned out to be short lived. The feature I need to test isn't in the release. Great job getting that pre-release out fellows. Hey, here's a tip. If there's going to be an official release, and not all of the features are in the release, then let's delay the release until they are there. Sounds good? Of course it does.
Met with Don, figured out a way to test the filter for port 4000 so whoever is using my test cases to test that feature doesn't need my whole thinprint setup. Remember those days? The licence expired and who knows who even works over there now, so getting another one could be easy-peasy or impossible. Neat. But hopefully that satisfies and they accept that.
Worked on the next adventure, making sure the lady's powers were written down, and I had examples of what I wanted to do with her so I didn't have to come up with everything on the fly. I'm getting there, she could be a pretty interesting villain for them.
Printed out my taxes, so I can file them.
That was pretty much the day. Left to go setup the iMac. That went quickly because there really isn't that much to do in setting up an iMac. From 2015. Yes, you read that right, it's been sitting with the plastic still on it for 6 years. At least I did get some use out of the Makerbot.

Came back here, the usual sites and videos and dinner.

Made my calls. Putting in a password for Yahoo, calling RG&E because my power lines are dangerously low and tearing off the house. And they're my responsibility, apparently? They are supposed to come take a look but it's almost 9:00 PM and no RG&E truck. I need to get an electrician to completely repair it? Sigh.

Did reading and then games with the crew.

Tues:
RG&E came and fixed the issue! It was pretty bad, it used to be 3 separate lines and they replaced them and braided them together so they don't sag so much. It looks much better, and now is only connected at one point on the house. Thanks! Wish power hadn't been cut to the house as my computers were on but whatever. I'm glad to have it fixed.

At work the only thing was making a card. The people I sent it to somehow managed to lock it out. The PIN is 0000. How can you mess that up four times? Doesn't make sense. Anyway, couldn't use the old certs for reasons, so made a new user and new certs and that was that. Handed it off to someone who will give it to someone who will see it safely on the way. Yes, it's a complex process.

Otherwise made a few notes for the next game oh and scheduled my first dose for May 31st. Ugh, two months away. Meaning I won't be fully vaccinated until early July. Oh well, I've managed this long.

Thought about my Dragon Warrior story, where it was going, and where I want it to go.

Went out to change the drive, a 30 minute drive out past the shops, it went fine. USB3 for the win, it makes a huge difference. 90+ GB and not even an hour and a half. Nice.

Got back here at 6:00, ate dinner, sites, videos, one phone call so I booked noon on Saturday.

The neighbor's house had all the bushes in front destroyed. The crew was and still is there (at 7:30 pm) tearing the yard to pieces. Why rip up bushes? Now the yard is just a boring, flat, stupid, grass. Why do you people hate nature?

And did some warframe.

Wed:
Got D5.4 but it needs some work. One feature was in, the onedrive auto login "SSO" was okay. The card list was not, it was not in. I am told it might be in tomorrow though?
Did testing of what was in. At least mostly. I'll need to do just a few things with it tomorrow.
Wrote another chapter.
Didn't get a notice that card stuff was in D2.9 either.

Came home, sites, videos.

Reading. And warframe.

Thurs:
Joe sent the wrong Robert and the correct Christina a notice about D2.9 being ready today, but she was like "what machines do you want" and I was like "what are you talking about?"
So we got that straight, so I have plenty of work, at least for today.

Finished up the SSO login thing from yesterday. I decided to write a bug. See there was much hand wringing over the fact a certain setting has to be turned on for it to work. Without it, and there is no error message to tell you this, it hangs up. Nice huh? So I wanted to see what D5.4 would do. Oddly, it worked perfectly. So as my previous bugs were closed as working as intended and a documentation issue, this behavior must therefore be wrong, no? So it's a bug now.

Finished it up otherwise, and moved onto D2.9 the card list stuff. Seems to be fine, though one string is completely different between D4.0 and D2.9. Wrote it up. Only later after the meeting did Ted say "oh we have a VBS for it." Thanks, would have been nice to know before I started testing. It's fine, plenty of models to go. I did two, Christina did two, I'll do two more to finish it up tomorrow (I started the upgrade of the one before I left) as she's out tomorrow.

Had all the meetings. Found and labeled a card. Busy day!

Came back here, no 3D printer yet. (It was delivered at 6:30)

Checked sites, videos. Sent in my estimated tax for this quarter, a whole hundred dollars. Believe me when you get almost $5000 back I don't think you have to send them much. Just a token merely a trifle. What I want is your voice! Did a little warframe stuff I wanted to do, no real missions just a challenge. Messed with the map for the game tomorrow, and set up the 3D printer.
Watched a very well done setup video, and while there was a bit of a snag in that he could seemingly move his Z axis up and down without any effort at all and I could hardly do so putting all my weight on it, it went together and started the test print. On the card were two test prints. A cat and a dog. Guess which one I picked? No guess.

The dog right- no silly the cat.

So we'll see what it does. It says it has 5 minutes left, and stuff is coming out, but it looks like a hot mess right at the moment. Humm.

Made one call, the lady a half hour away. She wants more done to the machine? I said we could probably talk it out on the phone rather than me driving all the way out there. She's calling back monday.

So now we come to the part where we consider the future. I'll finish up the D2.9 stuff tomorrow or that's the hope anyway, then maybe start on the D5.4 test. I can see it happening, the D2.9 stuff won't take me that long.
The usual Friday stuff of groceries, maybe getting gas, and seeing my parents. Then I'll head home for home. They'll finally see the ninja (or will they) and wrap this adventure up.

Then Saturday I have one appointment for noon, and that's it for the plan really, other than having my parents over to watch movie 2 of Fantastic Beasts.

You know, I think this timer was programmed by microsoft. It says it's been printing 20 minutes, but the maximum time left I saw was 7 minutes. It says 4:31 now is left, but is only 7% done. It's been more than thirty seconds. Still, it's nice and quiet (for the most part, there's some fan noise of course) but it's not shaking all over the place like the last one. Looks like it may really be a step up. If I actually get something out of it that looks like a cat, because right now I'm not sure what is' doing.

Then nothing Sunday. Apart from Easter. Happy Zombie Jesus day everyone! So I'll be over at my parents, having Thanksgiving. Er, what?

Vet next Thursday that's the only thing really on the calendar elsewise.

So that's it. We're into April, it snowed today, people are getting shots, everything fine! It's fine. Totally fine.

See you all next week, have a good one.
