2021-03-11:

Fri:
Did some troubleshooting on the SSO stuff, turns out my inability to scan or print was due to a setting on the printer.
Of course the app never told me this, nor did the error messages suggest it, so that's about right.
Modified the bugs to include that new info.

Wrote another chapter, we'll get a little of Wonder Woman at the end, and he can get his wish and move on to the next world.
Originally wanted it to be a mash up of last unicorn and Dragon Slayer but now I wonder if that's too easy for this guy?
Maybe it's time to start a new character? Not sure who that would be, I've done a pure magic character and I've done a pure supernatural character that can learn any skill. Anything else would seem very limiting. Yes, yes, I know it's limitaitons in a character that make for a good story but at the same time I want them to grow into a powerhouse by the end. Unlike say Harry Dresdin that never seems to get all that much better at anything or make anything despite the many adventures he's had over the years. I mean one of the characters in the book has grown from a little girl to a young woman, that's how long the in universe clock has run. But here's Harry still using the same four spells and wearing the same coat. What are you doing with your time, anyway? You're always broke so it's not working cases, couldn't you be, I don't know, studying? Practicing?

Got gas, went shopping, saw my parents and got the sewing machine back.
Did game. They only got through the fight, so no ninja action for them. Not for a while, probably no game next week for obvious reasons.

Sat:
Cleaned up, as my parents are coming over.
It was night on Earth in game so I went and scanned the plants I needed to make the potion, completed that quest fully. I can find seeds now.
Ate lunch, worked on the story after watching the beginning of Wonder Woman again. I just need to figure out what he wishes for.
 Turned out to be obvious in retrospect. I was going to have him wish for reducing the time it takes to use the skill that gets an answer out of the universe, but then thought better of it and took the pain and blindness away from using the barrowed sharingon. You know, the thing Riker should have given Gordi instead of just curing him outright. Gordi didn't want to not be blind, not really, he just wanted his headaches to stop. And Riker would have known that.
Finished that up, now to figure out what the next world is I guess, or to start a new character? Still no idea who they would start out as, I mean it would have to be someone in a universe the avatar is attacking, and they get yanked out of it and start wandering to fight him. Hummmmm.
Watched some WandaVision.
My parents came over, watched the first fantastic beasts movie. Yay I got to hear the word "no-maj" again. So stupid.
Then warframe.
More WandaVision, should have gone to bed...

Sun:
Finished up WandaVision and watched a movie. It was about a nine-tails, I need to have more combats like that. Sigh.
Sites, the usual Sunday stuff.
Getting ready for tomorrow.
One call over the weekend. Just another setting wrong in Windows Live Mail, took care of it over the phone right quick. All their mail was going into junk, because of course it was. Not to worry, I changed the setting back to low and everything should be fine.
Then back to warframe.

Mon:
Nothing exciting at work. Only thing was getting two screenshots for Don. Woohoo.
Wrote up the March 26th adventure, I think. Came up with some other interesting? villians for the "good guys" to fight.
No job, came back home, sites and videos. I later realized I had missed a call somehow at 7:08, what? Answered several other calls, someone is bringing their PC here they put in a new processor and now it doesn't boot. Do you even know it's compatible? Why would you even change a processor? If it's socket compatible it's not going to be that much faster than whatever you have, are you really maxing your current one out? I highly doubt it. And having not left well enough alone, you busted it. I just hope I can get it working.
I need to call someone back tomorrow, their trackpad isn't working right which seems to be a common problem with that model, so we'll see how that goes. And booked Wednesday for A THING
Warframe, Sean was grading and couldn't do the monday game so that was that. I mean sure I suppose I could have gotten on to see if Neil would be there (I don't think he ever did show himself) but this is me we're talking about here. Would that really have been in character? I think not.

Tues:
More working on villians for the game, came up with a nice one that can even be related back to demons. Neat.
Oh I mean working, hard at work testing, uh, one of the things on the list. (We're down to 6 things.) The voice system people have gone dark, haven't heard anything from in weeks now, maybe I should email the guy? Next nearest thing is end of March.
Looked test cases over and made some suggestions, that was the only real work I had.
Went down to see about getting a new garage door opener installed. Having a guy come tomorrow for an estimate. They'll call, so I can just leave work when they're about to get here. That's nice of them. I don't have to wait around 1-3 here. Hopefully can just pop in and go back to work.
Came back here, had the CPU system so I looked at that. Didn't power up at all, until I put the old CPU back in. Huh. Upgraded the BIOS, still no love for the new CPU. Leave well enough alone!
Made calls, had a few. Booked Thursday, an iPad? Hummmmm.
And warframe.

Wed:
Let's see, I emailed the voice people as it had been two weeks, they got me a new weblet that solved the keypad issue. Still no word on the login issue though.
Looked at a bug report for Gina, something about blank pages. Print a .ps file? With the driver? How am I supposed to do that?
Went back home to meet with garage door guy. They're coming back Monday to do the install, so I'll have to take a half day off work as it's 10-12. It's fine. I mean I could go in for 2 hours I guess?
Went back to work, cleaned out my email. Made another villain for the troop, they're hard to come up with! But at least now I have several adventures in mind.
Went to take back the PC from the 1/2 away lady. Again, saw no screen issue for the 1.5 hours I was there. Really have to figure out the options for choeasycopy so it doesn't retry a million times to copy files it just can't copy. USB to new machine went super fast, as expected. It's just the initial copy from the user folder that's the problem.
Got back by 6:00, ugh, ate dinner, checked sites.
One call, didn't reach them. Getting ready for tomorrow.
Warframe of course.

Thurs:
Spent some time printing a document to see if it would print with or without blank pages. Such things dreams are made of.
And meetings. Don't forget the meetings.
Looked into some NAS emulator because some client uses it and can't do SMB 3.0 scans from versalink printers? Shouldn't you actually be talking to FujiXerox about that? Not us? Huh.
I may be able to set it up but the directions aren't very clear, and of course that's just the install, actually getting it working could be a whole different ball of wax.
Watered plants. Made another bad guy, but is he really a bad guy? No, he just wants to know the truth. And isn't that the same as anyone?
And that was the day before Friday.

Let's talk about the great, super fun next three days I have planned. More fun than you'll have, I can assure you of that.

Friday: Normal stuff. I'll go to work, go get cat food and litter as I'm running low on those, get groceries, see my parents, probably get gas too I'm at half a tank. Nothing too different there.
But Saturday? Oh, sweet, sweet Saturday. A day with no real meaning whatsoever, no. I get to do my favorite activity, with my most favoritist person in the whole world. (i.e. do a bunch of work copying files that I've already done for dentist guy.) Yup, he got the replacement for his stolen laptop, so I get to set it up. Again. That's at 10:00. Hopefully I'll be done by 12:00, can get home, have some lunch, and be to my next appointment by 2:00. That's not so bad, a mac user who thinks the government is spying on her because of the searches she does. Lady, it's not China. No one cares. We're going to see about installing a VPN and some other stuff. Should be super fun.
Then back for the iron man game, which may actually be fun without the sarcasm. But who can say?

Then Sunday, oh day of days, Sunday! The day we do the taxes. I'm going to bring my laptop and just do the forms right there in the web browser. Why not? Save me time and effort all around, I think.

And I already have Monday sewn up, (little sewing humor because I got my machine back) I'm having the garage door opener changed so I'm taking a half day off work, and I have a job in the afternoon already, some Zoom thing. Like I can do anything about that. At least it's just up the road.

So that, as they say, is that. The second week of March falls with 70 degree temperatures, and a very un-fun weekend to look forward to.
