Fri:
Did not get all the code we needed and only got the (very minor) voice
system updates so no real work done today. The voice system had all of two
fixes in it, a close box button was removed and the keyboard doesn't come up
now when there's already a keypad on the screen. Why should I even bother to
load it?
I did get ready for the work on Monday. Got the machine loaded, though
apparently after I started this process I learned the code wasn't in there,
so I would have to load it again anyway. But I did look over the server side
of things, so I hopefully know what I'm doing.
Went shopping, no surprises there.
Saw my parents, and their pet mosquitoes. Didn't think it had been that wet
out, to make all of those mosquitoes possible, but apparently it has.
Put stuff away, got ready for game. Remembered to view my Friday websites
this time so I could do my timesheet.
Did game. Got through the cave of trials, and "befriended" a wizard on a
quest for revenge for their newly murdered wife. Such that suspicion is
removed from our dark elf buddy we are on the tail of the murderer.
Sat:
Checked my sites while waiting for 10:00.
At 10:00 I went out to see the lady about her router. Her desktop was
pathetic, 5400 RPM hard drive. But that didn't explain what I was seeing,
when you try to bring up a website there was a very long resolving host
delay. 30-50mb/sec download speed, so her internet should have been fine.
Weird. I finally gave up, I couldn't narrow it down to any one thing and I
had spent enough time trying.
Got back, ate lunch.
Moved some more trees around. I know, I know, fence. My anger has cooled a
bit, plus they didn't get back to me. If my mother finds me one on nextdoor
that's fine, they can be moved again. Got chirped at by a catbird the entire
time. Then two.
Picked a few berries, still not enough though I'll probably just squeak one
last bag in with what I have. Got more scratched up than I figured.
Sean wanted game at 5:00 and it was 3:30.
Started game! We got together (ish).
I was consulted but it isn't my time to shine I guess. Still, they're doing
all the hard work for me, and if I was there, still not much I could have
done apart from making the suggestions I made anyway. So there. I don't
think we'll do it next week but the week after that we'll resume it.
Sun:
Checked sites.
Cut the front lawn.
Picked enough berries for another pie, so that's 9 bags frozen. Ten pies
total, that's almost a whole year of pies at one per month. I'll have pies
until the berries start growing next year, so I have something to look
forward to once I make the last one. Not bad.
A little more yard work, found another mini bush in the front lawn, moved it
to the back where I won't run over it with the mower.
Watered everybody. I moved 5, 3 of them seem a bit wilted, hope they
survive. Two of them were right next to each other, odd that they would have
a problem as one was really big and one was a tiny thing. The other two,
*shakes head* I try not to pull them too much it's odd they're wilting.
Watched the rest of Discovery. I liked it a lot better, it seemed more
grounded than the first series. I hope they keep it up, as there is a season
3 coming.
Watched Iron Man.
Did some cleaning, not as much as I would have if my parents were coming,
wonder why that is?
Mon:
Didn't get the software (maybe Wed) and the altboot didn't help matters. The
machine still won't accept the app that will let me do the test. Christina
and I both tried various things, but no luck. I guess another machine it is.
Messed with getting it ready otherwise though. Stupid one time use certs
crap.
Didn't get the card reader from Kevin, so he didn't get that test started.
Had a meeting about the celivio box. Sent clone files, screwed up the
printers. Apparently they use static TCP/IP but our machines don't so that
knocked one machine off. The other one just sorta died. It would just reboot
endlessly. So good job on our end, how does a clone file cause that sort of
thing to happen? It shouldn't, and it's dumb it did.
Fixed the printer, had to reload the software and tell it to wipe the
settings out. We didn't set it up for the test, he said as the other printer
worked it was fine.
Went to my second job, 3000+ things removed by mbam. Sheesh. And a ton of
extensions in chrome, so that folder got locked up. How does this happen?
Haven't seen one that bad in a long time.
Came back home. Saw a rainbow, haven't seen one for a long time. Even
managed a decent picture of it, as I was stopped at a red light.
Checked sites.
Email guy called, frontier is having issues. He's using yahoo now. I pity
him.
Discovered my fridge setting was turned down. No wonder my ice cream didn't
set up right, it also answers a few other questions as to why my salad was
not lasting like it should, and my milk wasn't either. It was on 1 snowflake
not 3. How did that happen? Knocked? It would be nice if it was "geared" so
it took a bit of effort to "click" into place, rather than just spinning
freestyle. I taped it in place, let's hope that fixes the issue.
Game with sean, we got through the one takedown easily with our new "level
10" weapons and the pistol Mizzy got for us. (It's pretty nice against
armored targets) But not the other. Neil died to the first jump twice, odd
as I've never really done anything special and always made it. So I threw
myself off a ledge after everyone else had died (by accident, duh, I thought
the man cannon was active, and both Neil and Sean agreed it seemed that way
but Mizzy said no, so maybe we were just seeing things) so we stopped. I'm
dumb. I really had the boss on the ropes too, I was actually pretty proud of
myself.
Tues:
My breakfast was much colder today, so that's working fine. My ice cream
maker core is actually solid now, and my little freeze cup works again. I
guess when things are where they should be, it works much better.
Had the morning meeting about what happened yesterday, then tried to get
some work done. Honest! I took a look at the build I loaded yesterday and
yes, the card we expected to be in there was in there. So I updated the test
case (just the one) put it on the documentation site, and marked the task as
done. For now, there's still a release I'll have to check in the future.
Then I loaded a D5.4 build hoping it would be in there, but alas, it was
not.
Then I got the card reader from Kevin, which I'm sad to report doesn't work.
Oh, it beeps, I know the reader itself works, but if he wanted to be able to
log in with it? Not so much. Tried other readers (two of them!) and they
worked, so I know it should have. Oh, and I had to switch machines because
of course my first pick didn't load equitrac. Oh it said it did, right
enough, but no, it did not.
So more than I've done lately, even if it wasn't exactly a success yet.
Thought about drones for the new game. The same "infinite wireless" and
"infinite battery" magic could be used to give a "toy" drone unlimited range
and power to fly. They can only get about 10 minutes and 70m now. Gonna make
me one of them!
Came back here as I had no after work job, and saw I had no calls either.
Nice. Checked my sites, watched an episode of Supergirl, played an hour of
Bayonetta 2.
Wed:
Tried again with the card reader, took some logs, and had John set up Y-Soft
as Kevin said whoever tested it on altalink had better luck. I, as is to be
expected, did not. The logs seem to show the reader being recognized, but in
that case it should work, right? One would think.
So I didn't get anywhere there. I didn't get the shipping form so I couldn't
ship the cards. I didn't get the new print from URL compression thing.
Christina loaded an engineering build for that on a machine at 2:00. At 3:00
it still wasn't done? At 3:15 I realized it was just rebooting over and over
(and over) again. Neat. So I turned it off. So much for that.
As you can tell, not a great day for getting things done.
Came home, checked sites, ate dinner, the usual. Got ready for tomorrow and
did some Gears with Neil and Sean.
Thurs:
Another meeting day, let's talk about the meeting day. Had the first
meeting, there wasn't much status on most of the items, but we are moving
forward with trying to make things more generic to save us time in the
future when new smartcards are made.
Still no news on the card reader and why it doesn't work.
Still no label to send the cards to India.
Loaded the official "final" release of D2.9 and checked to be sure the card
string was in there. It was. Checked 3 models of printer, Christina checked
2 others so that should pretty much do it.
Found my gabi machine in ruins, despite my changing the admin password so
people can't get on it. It wasn't even set up anymore, I had to redo the
whole thing. Thanks! The password was even changed to the default. What the
heck? And the audit log didn't really show all that being done, a clone file
was put in, don't know why. I put it all back but I can't log in with
alternate login. Just card and pin for copy only. So weird. This was at the
end of the day so I didn't get much chance to mess with it further. We'll be
getting a patch v3 soon so maybe I'll just wait until then if I can't figure
it out right away. I'll need to reload the whole thing anyway so why bother?
Had the afternoon meeting, no big surprises there. I am tasked with testing
some new tool to make it easier for USDA to upgrade. Don't we have a tool
already? Oh right it's called CWW. Why not just tell them to use that, it's
free, and then we don't have to put resources into doing what we've already
done. *shakes head*
So tomorrow I need to test a plugin, they said no to go overboard on it. See
about this new tool, and finish up the card string test. It never rains...
Then shopping, gonna get more ice cream stuff as my ice cream maker should
be nice and frozen now. Of course the weather looks like rainy and cold from
Saturday to Thursday so that should be fun.
Looks like two of my trees are dying and two are going to be fine, so
hopefully Saturday I can try two different ones in their place. Can't do it
in a thunderstorm! Wonder what I did wrong for those, I try to be super
gentle in moving them. Sigh. Sorry little trees. Still, I have plenty more
around the house I can move.
We'll do the Friday game but not the Saturday one, so I'll have my parents
over for one of the new movies.
And then play in the rain?
I guess we're cruising into August, I've had Chill Mouse for 2 years now!
They're hanging in there. Stay dry out there everyone. I mean unless you're
swimming. Or I guess taking a shower? Stay dry unless you want to not be
dry, I guess is my point. See you all next time.
