Fri:
Worked a little bit on new test cases, we're having a review Monday (at 8:00 sharp, ugh) for three specs I didn't even have yet. And the first one I started on seemed quite familiar, and with good reason. It was part of another spec I had already looked at. But some parts were missing? I don't know what these people are doing.
Also checked some more bugs out, got my list narrowed down even further.
What I'm saying is, nothing really exciting. Giuseppe will be off all next week, and I'm seeing lots of vacation time as the week wears on so it should be fairly light all around from here on out until December.
Got cat food and litter, then stopped at my parent's house. Let the kitten out, thinking he would be glad to see someone, but no, he just wanted to run away from me and hide. Finally managed to nab him, give him the petting he needed, but didn't necessarily deserve, and put him back. Then tried to get Gabe in, who was wearing a collar. Uh, little late for that, fleas are not really a concern in the winter, are they?
All of this made me somewhat late so I got the groceries, got home to put them away, and left again. With traffic between here and there I was about 20 minutes late to Sean's. Had some tasty mac & cheese and... a sort of side mission where someone tried to steal Neil's mech. So my character still doesn't really know what she's in for.
Sat:
Got up fairly late, later then I expected given when I went to bed the night before so I caught up on my sites and videos, then did some cleaning.
Sunny, but the leaves had gone away from the driveway and there were not enough to really bother with elsewhere so I said "forget it."
Then left for my 1:00. Stayed much later than I expected not for the iPad thing which as I predicted took all of a few minutes but he had other questions which was fine it wasn't a wasted trip in that case.
Got back, ate lunch, this was about 3:00. Watched the latest episode of Dark Materials, did more bead sorting, hope to have that done this weekend, puttered around and then when it was dark enough played Borderlands both alone and with my buds.
Sun:
Started the day off right with videos and sites. Finished the sorting project so I can more easily (never) do bead projects again. I do want to make a companion Luigi for my bead Princess Peach at some point. But not for awhile.
Did a few other things of note, such as making that pie like I said I would, some muffins from a mix, and doing last month's paperwork. Nothing too exciting I guess. Didn't do much work last month, shocking. Let's keep that up!Mon:
Started the day off with a meeting. I thought it was going to be a spec review, you know, looking at the specs and reviewing them.
Nope. It was just talking about what we think is going to happen with the new code. Ohkay. Maybe bring in people to test once you have that figured out? Anyway, I have the same 8:00 meeting the next two days so that should be fun.
The meeting notice came with a bunch of specs I hadn't seen so I worked on them at various parts of the day. Had the other meeting of course. The specs are all over the place. I found several that have the same information duplicated. I found lines that contradict other lines. It's a mess.
I put a bunch of questions in them, but no real test cases. They're just too all over the place. Of course if I could get access to the site where they actually come from, that might help.
No job today so I went to look for more gifts for the game. So that's done. Now all I need is the questions or whatever I'm doing this year.
Still plenty of time I suppose.
Got home, had the keyboard so set about reassembling the yucky Sony. Got it together and it still works, and the keyboard doesn't seem to have the issue they were complaining about so let's never do that again.
Talked on the phone for an hour and a half with a lady that seemed to get sound (her machine beeped when I moved the slider) but nothing came out on youtube. The test tones would work. Nothing came out of iTunes. WTF?
So I'm going over there.
Called the keyboard lady, no dice. Called a relative of mine, showed him how to drag a folder to his external to copy it. Yes, basic computer literacy should be a requirement for owning a computer. Called a guy I hadn't reached from Friday, he wants Saturday at 2:00. That should still leave me plenty of time to get to Sean's by 5:00. (because that's how the universe works)
Otherwise sites and videos, looked into why the RSS feed wasn't working very well. Mom still says there's no entries, but my RSS reader seems fine. When I validated it apparently one of the documents wasn't the right "encoding" whatever that means and it was messing it up? I don't know, what else could it be? Maybe when I go over there for Thanksgiving I'll look into it.
Tues:
A few requests came in, and of course the 8:00 meeting that was again pointless because it wasn't a spec review as I wanted.
Bob wanted me to retest the print from network feature, which I did, and the devassist tool, which hadn't been updated so I said to forget it.
Investigated a few other bugs, accidentally downgraded and had to upgrade my EFI version. Good stuff.
All in all a very boring day, but don't worry, Bob wants another meeting tomorrow to discuss even more busywork for us all so there's something to look forward to!
Oh, and I went to the dentist. We're watching three teeth, but nothing he says is bad enough to deal with at the moment. I really don't want to loose more real tooth. Sigh.
Went to see speaker lady, yes the lady I spent an hour and a half with yesterday trying to figure out why youtube wasn't doing sound. Thought it was the browser, nope, changed browsers. Thought it was the driver. Reloaded the driver. Tried to have her plug the cable into the headphone jack on the front. "Oh, there's just too many cables." Uh no, no there are not. So what was her problem? There was no problem. I walked in, switched the jack, it was fine, switched it back, it was still fine. Thanks a lot lady.
Back here I checked sites as usual, and then played far too much Borderlands trying to get through the current mission. It's a 5 parter, and apparently if you stop in the middle (as we did the last time) you have to start from the beginning again. Modern game design this is not. Thanks, gearbox.
So much for getting up early, Squeaker goes in and I got to bed at almost 12:30 instead of 10:30. Ah well, it won't kill me.
Wed:
Got up to get Squeaker in, he was very annoyed at not getting breakfast. Once he was there I got breakfast for the crew, as Adnan said was my duty despite it not being Friday and we just wait until next week like a normal person would. Whatever.
So of course I didn't quite make it to the 8:00 spot for part 3 of our meeting. Boohoo.
Then after that met with Bob, and he explained the new performance test he wanted me to run.
Got that set up. Started after lunch.
The whole reboot issue. Separate USBs from now on, friends.
Just finished the task before it was time to go. Went home, then got squeak. He needs 2 teeth taken out. Another $400.
Spent far too much time at my appointment, just finding it was a pain. Stupid dark. Don't even know if it's fixed. (sound, pending updates)
Played Borderlands until bedtime
Thurs:
You're calling me on Thanksgiving? Die in a fire. Oh they hung up. Good.
Scottsville? Odd, don't I have relatives there? Could be a coincidence. They would have left a message but which of my relatives would be calling me today? Which of them even knows I exist? Odd.
Oh happy thanksgiving and everything, everyone.
Upheld American tradition by eating far too much, a big thank you to my mother and sister for preparing the meal. I'm going to post this now, Sean's watching a movie but he did say he wanted to do Borderlands at some point. So I'm getting ready for bed and then hopefully doing that.
See you all next week, as the christmas season begins. Don't get frozen in ice or buried in snow, seems like the weather is going to turn again.
