Fri:

Lots of playing around with staples code. It's very nice, they clearly know what they doing, unlike some who shall remain nameless. Two pages of notes made. A mix of bugs, suggestions, and general thoughts. 

Demo done. Lots of people I've never seen came to the lab. We didn't have the "real" hardware working at the time, even if we had we couldn't have used it, it's sideways. Thanks, tablet guys! 

Breakfast provided, lab was empty in the morning.

A few things don't work, like I thought fax didn't. Setting the time fixed it, must be a server thing. The email services we won't be able to use because we can't reach their servers. Still, it's fairly refreshing.

Saw my parents, helped dad with the TV, (I pushed a button). He finally put up the antenna he got years ago, so they actually have a decent signal now. DTV for the win?

Made it to Sean's on time, we didn't get that far, but that's okay. Means less work for me! Sean figured out a little of what the orbs do.

Sat:

Got up, checked sites and videos to get that out of the way. Had some calls to make so I figured I would be going out. 

Not so much.

One person wanted advice on printers, another with what are probably router issues. He's been diagnosed with bone cancer, so I guess that's what we call perspective? 

So I went nowhere and stayed here to do some cleaning. Then finished my final, honest, all encompassing, brutal, the end please no more, make it stop, reading of Pyre. Didn't find too much. Wasn't I doing a proofread of it a year ago? I seem to have been that, looking back at my old blog from a year ago.

Did my paperwork from last month, found it sitting there. Also hadn't been taking out my school taxes the last few months. Shouldn't have invested. Whoops. Ah well, it's fine. Made the adjustment.

Sun:

With labor day approaching I did the usual stuff. Wash the deck, move the stuff off it, so we can seal it. We apparently did the driveway last year, according to my blog for that time. Huh, thought it was two years ago. But then, time flies so… My parents got a quote for a new driveway. About as much as my first car. Sheesh. Don't let your driveways degrade I guess?

Cleaned the garage floor - scraped off the nasty bits and blew it out, all kinds of dust, tiny rocks, various bits. So dirty my garage door turned brown, have to take care of that. Then swept up the tiny stones from the front. It's all nice and clean now. Not washed clean, I mean just swept clean. Found out my car was leaking oil, the filter wasn't on very tight. Sigh.

Put CDs back in cases, now the stack of cases has all my CDs again. As I don't figure on needing to listen to a physical CD anytime soon. It is to laugh. Anyone need three CD book holders?

Took a nap. I had a kitty, don't judge me.

Read comics, and did more cleaning. Getting ready for tomorrow, and with the time I had left, watched some JoJo.

So not a bad weekend.

Mon:

Today went pretty fast, probably because I had plenty to do? Had the meeting in the morning, as usual, and got my assignment. More staples work. It had crashed over the weekend, which was fun, and I got busy comparing the speeds of it and our solution. They beat us, on average, by 10 seconds going through the service. Not a good look.

Then after lunch I did more of a reliability test, just doing some of the services. Some options are missing, actually, but I did what I could. Found a few more things and noted them down. Not sure what I'm going to do tomorrow.

Lab was very quiet today, with Adnan on vacation all week. Super quiet. Weird.

Left work, went over to York. She had her password wrong in two ways, first a digit was wrong, and she had "cap S" but there was no cap s. None at all. 

Then three of their email accounts were messed up, but all in different ways. How did they…

Back here briefly, then over to put the battery in for the lady.

Back here I ate dinner, sites and the usual evening stuff.

Made two calls, one person with a router problem and is of course a half hour away, yay, and the other with no problem at all.

I'll pick up a router and go over there tomorrow. Super.

Tues:

Did a bit of poking at the staples code, but then was told to go back to our crap. Which is total busywork because staples will never use any of it. I did clone, which was one test, then screensaver, which they will never use because they have a completely different system, and then started print from USB. Again, totally pointless because our code hasn't changed, and they won't use it anyway. 

Great!

Still very quiet in the lab. 

got a router I didn't need after work, and went to see about the two macs that were somehow on the network but couldn't load websites? Most bizarre thing ever. Couldn't even get to the printer, but could still ping it? I finally ran mbam in desperation, and it found a bunch of stuff! WHA? So crazy.

Came back here, ate dinner, got ready for tomorrow so I could do Halo with Sean.

Wed:

Turned out I was doing the wrong service. Because I'm dumb. I grabbed print from USB not Scan. Pity me.

No demo today so I finished up a thing I didn't have to do and then did the thing I was supposed to be doing. Neat. Got it almost done, so it's no big loss. I found a few things so it's all good.

Nothing much else exciting, really.

Got a box at the post office on the way home to put my old CDs in. Just fit into the medium one. Better than throwing in the trash. Also got gas.

Checked sites, got ready for tomorrow, the usual stuff. Sean wanted to do Halo at 10:00 so I needed to be ready.

Went to reorder by brandless chips, and they don't make them anymore???!?!?!? I loved those things, I ordered them every month. In fact it's been every month for an entire year, my yearly "membership" with them was supposed to auto renew on the 21st of this month but for some reason did not? So forget them, I guess? No more free shipping and if you don't have the one product I really liked, I mean do the math here, right? This last bag will be my last of them. *sadface* 

Thurs:

Finished up scan to USB and had the morning meeting. Wasn't a very long one, and got into copy. 

Didn't write anything up today, but then, neither did anyone else so it's cool. 

Finished copy right about the time to leave I did.

Went to see the guy I suspected had router trouble. He was having… wait for it… router trouble. I just unplugged his router and plugged it back in again. Easy. Sigh. So not only did I not sell him the router I recently (and stupidly) purchased, he bought one too he couldn't immediately use. Nice job, both of us.

Came back here via buying material at Jo-Ann's. Got the fabric 40% off and had a 40% off coupon that applied to the thread. I couldn't remember if I had yellow or not. Probably, I made that sailor solestia costume but hey, this matched pretty well. Maybe not this week because of labor day (which may rain?) but next I'll actually get that finished up.

Checked sites, talked to a lady about gmail for 40 minutes. She was signing out and using the link on the browser I think assumed she was signed in, but she wasn't, and so it gave her an error? Great. We (I) worked around it by loading mail.gmail.com directly which didn't make that assumption.

I want to watch the rest of the terminal videos tonight, so we'll see what else I can do before bed.

Looking to the future: Have no idea what I'll do at work tomorrow. But after work I'll go to the bank, get groceries including yummy stuff for my parents on Labor Day, then go see them. We may do some Halo as Neil is not available for game this week.

Then work stuff over the weekend, maybe instead of Monday? We'll have to see. Otherwise no work is scheduled. Sunday and Monday show rain icons. 

I guess that's about it so I'll sign off for now. In case you missed it, August is over. Time to send in more estimated tax, so get right on that.
